You can actually install the tape onto the inside of the outer focus ring where the rubber ring meets it. This allows the rubber gasket to hide it from view and you won't face the issue where sliding on the follow focus ring will 'push' the tape out when sliding onto the lens.
My current set is comprised of a 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, 50mm f3.5 macro, and 135mm f2.5 ( all S.S.C breach lock). Want a 35 concave and any 85 to confidently complete the set. The 24 and 135 are really good choices, first is sharp and second is creamy bokeh.
Good video. I wonder if there is a micro 4/3 mount kit. One thing I would do as an upgrade to just simply screwing in the step-up ring is to ether use some blue thread lock or red permanent thread lock. Then when taking a hood/matt box off and on the step-up ring doesn't detach itself every time!
For some reason the prongs on both of my nFD lenses are different from yours & most of the ones I’ve seen on RUclips. It’s one prong instead of two. I have a 24mm f2.8 & 50mm f1.8. Hopefully simmod has a version for mine.
I have an R5C and RF glass, I wonder if they will ever make these conversions directly to the RF mount to avoid the adapter. But this still looks fun to do and I wonder how the results would be vs using what I have.
Question: If you change the lens mount from FD to EF, but the sensor is APC. it'd obviously not be a full frame filed of view? right? I wonder if the distance from the sensor to the FD Lens with its new mount will be different?
Hi David, I wanted to convert my set of canon Fd to EF mount, so that I could mount on an adapter with drop in filter. But I rode from the website that with adapter like speedbooster it could not work because of the glass inside. The rear moves when focusing. Do you think it would touch the drop in filter? Thanks Filippo
My camera could not for the life of it focus on the lens LMAO
flange distance problem?
@@enjoyyoursleep1 I think he meant when filming this video

Yes!! I really wanna ad the 24 and 135 to my collectionnn they’re my next steps haha 6 set to 8 set 🫠

Yes that'd be really nice haha and I'm not sure if they have a M43 kit, I would check their site at Simmod!
wanna see the full set of your gear and footages shot on these things pls
For sure! I’m compiling them haha

They should!
Where did you get the FD to EF conversion and De-clicked aperture kits? I haven't seen these and I don't see any links listed.
Simmod!
This is pretty awesome!
Thank you!
My kit consists of Pentax 28mm f3.5, Canon FD 50mm f1.4, and my recent pick up Helios 44m f2
Nice set!

I think its too hard to convert that based on flange distnce
The adapter is great for Cine glass becuase of the drop in ND filters! Being everything is manual anyhow no real need for it to be RF mount.
You mentioned looking up tutorials for the FD lenses because they have different conversion components. Have you seen any on YT? Links?
There are some but theyre a bit confusing, I had to consult some people on the Vintage Lenses FB Group

It would not be full frame, and the distance may be slightly different but it all depends on what converter you use!
@@Minhute I'm using a foccal reducer with my FDs and EOSMs to get almost full frame.
That Vandy jacket tho!!
Yessir!!! My boy vandyyy
Great video! Also, I have that same shirt from uniqlo and I love it!!

They’re Simmod products!
@@Minhute awesome thank you!
Which size engraved lens cap did you get for these? I don't see 77mm as an option anywhere on the site.
You get 80 OD which is 80mm outer diameter
@@Minhute thank you!
Love this topic bro,
Thank youu
Where did you get all the accessories from? Any website?
Simmod Lens!

It might not work depending on that flange distance. You would have to test it out in person I couldnt tell you 100% unfortunately
is it possible to convert with Legacy aperture control (LAC) and have aperture control by the camera's own diaphragm ring?
Im not 100% sure but I believe so if I’m understanding correctly
Good video.
Thanks so much!
What about adapt it to RF Mount?
Haven’t heard of it before but I dont think the mount exists rn! Might be a flange distance thing?
@@Minhute Yes exists. You can adapt withaout any modification:)
Hi, do uk if a 80mm slip on cap can fit 82mm step up ring?
Unsure but dont believe so
@@Minhutewere ur slip on cap 80mm?
@@irfanhairuzi1110 theyre 80 outer diameter yeah, and one 95
Is the full aperture ring mod still available? I can’t seem to find it
When you are on the product page theres a dropdown menu!
@@Minhute is it the one that costs 155$ and then you choose your lens?
Yep!
The aperture included model costs 175
I must be looking at something completely different then because it shows up as 155 on my end with the aperture ring included
