It’s now a war between Tre and Marner to see who blinks first. Tre needs to trade this guy to get back cap space and rebuild this team to win in playoffs. Let’s see what happens

After Mitch honours his contract by playing it out next season - Mitch doesn’t owe the Leafs anything. He has the right to walk.
If the Leafs wanted Mitch - wouldn’t Matthews and Marner have been extended for the same amounts at the same time last year? 😀

He is a star. He loves Toronto. Let him prove his worth by Christmas. I sense he'll have a career year and they'll end up resigning him. Tavares will be gone by end of the 2025 and that gives the Leafs with $11M plus $4M in Cap growth (total $15M) to shop around for more. The core four (Morgan not Tavares) will still be around for aa few more years.

Toronto's myriad of problems go way, way beyond anything to do with Marner. He averages over a point per game, and nobody is saying how that is going to be replaced should he be traded.

I think Mitch needs to go, but what bothers me is why no one else is talking about Matthews,r JT or Mo …the only good Playoff player front the core 5 is Willy …. 80% of the core is soft and cant get to done. Sure 69 goals is great , how did that make you feel when they fell again in game 7 . Blow this garbage up and win something worth winning period. Had it with this loser mentality

Hayes is an overconfident tool. Marner is too scared in the playoffs. That time Pat Maroon was screaming at him in playoffs is another example of Marner cowering. Marner wants the money and doesnt care about the team.
