How the hell did the French director of Emilia Pérez get nominated for best director when he did absolutely no research and put in no effort whatsoever and pissed off the entirety of Mexico and South America, and Denis got snubbed when he actually cares about the source material, the film and the fans?
Oscars this year really pissed me off. Denis gets snubbed for Director Nomination, Hans Zimmer is snubbed for Score, and Jacqueline West is snubbed for Costume Design. The only thing that can calm me down is seeing Timothee win best leading actor. Once Dune Messiah comes along, They better get and win all nominations!!

We already knew that this a PR race but this also confirms that the release date means a lot. Knowing that we can appreciate the nominations more; I’d be curious to see stats about films released that early that made it to awards season. Nevertheless, costume and direction at least should be there

They honestly should have nominated him for both. It's possible, Scarlett Johansson was nominated twice in one year for the best actress. The Oscars don't make sense. And don't even get me started on them not nominating Denis and Austin.
Dune part one getting 10 nominations in a stronger lineup of films in 2022 juxtaposed against Dune part two getting 5 total nominations in a weaker lineup of films in 2025 & the academy somehow concluding that Villeneuve was not among the deserving nominations in director after finishing the novel adaptation that had been labeled unadaptable since the 70's & doing it with huge success that no one thought was possible when the project was announced.... y'all shame yourselves but we all know you're already a shameless bunch so.
