    Can you get the filter to sound like your typical Rolnad 80's 4-pole? Or is it restricted to ladder sounding?

    • @teebeedahbow
      @teebeedahbow  2 года назад

      The filter is its own beast. It is state variable, and you can morph smoothly between a remarkable array of filter types and positions. There are two settings, 'standard' a digital 2 pole, and 'classic', which is softer edged. You are not going to get it to sound like a Juno, but it is capable of a huge range of filter effects.

    Hello from Tallinn 🇪🇪could you tell me please, could I chain Cobalt and Argon in one sounding machine? Thank you

    • @teebeedahbow
      @teebeedahbow  3 года назад +3

      Hi! Yes, you can. The sequencer/arp. outputs midi, so you can chain them that way, and each synth has an audio input that sends the signal through the effects but not the filter. So you could use, say the Argon8 as the 'master' and send midi to he Cobalt8 and return the audio the the Argon8. That would mean doubling the efx on the Cobalt8 signal but that might be something interesting. Maybe I'll make a video about it :-)

      @@teebeedahbow wow! So it is my understanding that I can use the Cobalt8 as a Master and chain it to any hardware midi Synth and create a sequence from the Cobalt sequencer? And then create a sequence from inside the Cobalt sequencer,and jam simultaneously?

    • @mattwoodman3017

      @@teebeedahbow I was thinking of using the Cobalt8 sequencer as my midi controller/Master midi and assign separate midi channels to other hardware

    • @teebeedahbow
      @teebeedahbow  3 года назад +1

      @@mattwoodman3017 I would say yes, given that the sequencer (and arpeggiator) can output midi. The sequencer can play notes internally or not, leaving you the other voices or all the voices for playing on top of the midi sequence.

      @@teebeedahbow wow! THANK you! I was thinking about buying a arturia 37 keystep as a sequencer, BUT If I can use a Cobalt 8 as a Midi controller AND sequencer to control other Hardware synths during a Live Jam,, then I'll skip the arturia and just use the Cobalt8!! That's amazing! THANK you !!!

      Thanks. They are marvellous synths, not so much for being 'go to' synths for all modern styles, but rather because of suggesting new musical spaces.

    The display is so small it is difficult to follow the explanation on the view of the synth.However,it is clear from the sound what is happening, also i thought the voice was audible over the sound but would be better if the synth was just slightly quieter.

    • @teebeedahbow
      @teebeedahbow  2 года назад

      Well, the displays on the Modal Electronics synths are small, but they are quite informative, I think. As for the mixing on the video, it's a learning process, for sure.

    is it possible to transpose the whole sequence without holding transpose button pressed? if yes please write how my friend

    • @teebeedahbow
      @teebeedahbow  3 года назад

      No. You need to engage and hold down the transpose button. However, you could set up a midi toggle switch on cc75. Do you find it very inconvenient to use the panel button?

    • @teebeedahbow
      @teebeedahbow  3 года назад

      Actually, I wanted to do a video on how to sequence multiple lines using one MIDI channel and with a Keystep Pro because the transposing is such a joy on that controller.

    • @doralfasi90
      @doralfasi90 3 года назад

      Of course. becuse i have beatstep pro for eurorack and microfreak and electribe sampler connected via clock cv and this is much better then midi for the clock sync useing
      [no delay between switching presets no expencive midi splitter and etc...]
      the cobalt8 really interest me and the only issue with that synth is the seq\arp thing. if you can make any video with some deep explaine i think it will be very usefull for any synth-nerd like me

    • @teebeedahbow
      @teebeedahbow  3 года назад

      Ok. I understand. The Cobalt/Argon 8s have cv sync in and out with various resolutions. I could make a step by step video of the sequencer settings if you think that would help.

    • @doralfasi90
      @doralfasi90 3 года назад

      Yes, it could be nice if you can find any way to transpose the sequence via the keyboard only with one finger like arturia's and moog's sequencers.
      if you can explain that, it will be great!

  • @awpMusic1
