Couldn’t agree more! In my family? You’ll see 20-30 year olds, enjoying a PBR, with their grandfathers. It’s special.
And hell, the word “hipster” did not exist, when we appreciated this classic!

I tried PBR for the first time this past summer. I was in dollar general looking for Busch light and PBR was on the shelf right at eye level I never had it or tried it so I got a 12pack and I do have to say I thought it was a great change of pace. Since then I've bought it regularly, turned my co-workers onto it and yes I am a grandfather and I think it's wonderful 👍

As a fairly young guy at 27 current I started drinking pbr when I was 22. Before that I was always an MGD or Molson canadian drinker. I switched because it was a cheap beer that had a good flavor. People always commented on it being a cheap beer or a hipster beer so I just rolled with it and became a big fan of the brand. I used to drink PBR back in my good ole high-school days back in 2013. I worked at grocery store and had a cute cashier of age buy me a 24 pack 🤣 I also bought a mini fridge for my room so I could toss the beer in my backpack and sneak them in my room. It was cheap and fairly easy to down and I remember sitting on the shitter late at night right before school started. Did I mention it was the good ole days? 😂
I haven't touched PBR in YEARS, I'm now 28 and recently bought a 6 pack of GLASS bottles. And... It doesn't seem to hit the spot like I remembered it to, sadly. The initial hit to the tongue is great, but the after taste lingers of rubbing alcohol. Hard to enjoy now, but can't waste it. Cheers.

If you spent six years in Athens, you are certainly familiar with Clemson. I was there from 67 to 71 and during that time I'm sure I drank at least two kegs of PBR in the "student" bar, the Study Hall - the smell really wasn't good. PBR was apparently the official beer of South Carolina; Budweiser was not welcome there even though the Bud man came buy and gave out sexy posters. Anyway, I still have a soft spot in my heart for PBR because of all the fond memories and camaraderie in that sacred bar. I retired and moved just 15 miles from Clemson and was surprised that PBR is no longer the favoreds brew. I do remember that PBR on tap had a great flavor not found in cans. Anyway, thanks for the review and memories.

PBR is way ahead of the other “mainstream” beers like Bud, Busch, Natty Light, Miller, etc. It’s my #1 drink after mowing the yard on a hot day. Been drinking it since 1983.

I used to drink PBR a lot when I was in my early 20’s… I agree with the college bar smell… these days, there’s so many cheap beers to choose from, I usually go with High Life, it’s probably the cheapest in my area, so it’s usually my go to! I find most cheap beers are all about the same quality with slight differences in profile and nose but essentially all indistinguishable after 4-5 😂… I do enjoy a lower ABV when smoking something all day. A .6-.5% makes a difference when you’re doing a brisket all day!

I'm looking for a replacement for Bud Light.
So far I think it's gonna be Miller Lite..
    But I'm open to suggestions.
I have never had a craft beer I can finish. 90% of my beer drinking evolves fishing.
    Hot weather and a boat.
    It's GOTTA be ice cold.👍

In the early 70’s our high school-age brew choices were pretty much Miller, Bud, and PBR. When my kids got to college and started drinking PBR to be retro, I had to laugh. As to your question, I drink cheap high AVB beers - old man in a lower economic bracket. So for me it Boatswain and Simpler Times.

I did not expect you to chug nearly the full pint lmao. Also I drink pbr because it is the best cheap beer. about $18 for a 18 pack of 12fl. oz. My favorite go-to beer would probably be modelo, but modelo isn't selling their beer for $1 a bottle lol.

I actually like it. You're right about it being cold. Nothing amazing, but it's cheap in a bar and bars are so expensive in America. I'll get a nicer beer at a bar if I'm in Asia, Latin America, Europe...probably Africa as well when I eventually visit. I prefer to get it on tap. Solid 2nd or 3rd beer too when playing pool

I call it a craft beer with my friends as a joke, because we all agree that its the best cheap beer. We all will drop $30+ on a 4 pack of craft beer, but we will all also drink a (very cold) pbr without question. Its genuinely a very tasty light American beer for such a low price. A 6 pack of pbr is the same price as one of those craft beers i was talking about.

    Sooooo,
I was unsure what to choose at the grocery store this evening. I was in the mood for a dark ale but spied the PBR.
The last time i had ut was at the E-Club at 29 Palms, the one out at the ranges. We called it the Hook and Jab but im sure that usnt the real name.
Anyways, the beer has a nice color and head. The mouth feel was nice as well as the a slight fruity flavor.
Al told i think it beats any top sold pilsner out there.
    A nice surprise for me.
It may be a bit sweet for my normal tastes but tonight it hit the spot for sure.
Edit: i was sipping my PBR and just wondered how folks rated it these days and your channel was the first i clicked.
Your show is pretty cool and easy to consume, like a tasty session brew.

Great review! I drink it cause it's cheap and good for cheap. Easy to drink, no musty after taste like Coors or Miller. No pure water like Bud light or MichUltra. Good, basic beer. GREAT review!

When I'm on the cheap and looking for a light, easy drinking, yellow fizzy beer, PBR, Lone Star, and Yuengling are my go-to during the Texas summers by the pool. Just picked up a 12 of PBR tonight before I watched video this along with a 12 of Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA. Cheers!

i never thought of pbr as a hipster beer because in my area, all the hipsters drink craft ipas and stouts and turn a blind eye to the cheap stuff but i've always enjoyed the cheap american lagers such as high life and coors banquet. i was introduced to pbr as a teenager because it was a few of my family members' go to beer so it never occured to me that it could be a hipster beer but i could see how it'd be frustrating to see a 20 something year old with a handlebar mustache claim this is some premium underground brew because its really just a cheap beer with no offputting flavors.

Drinking one now, on the 8th of February. I have been drinking a lot of quality expensive craft and German beer, and I decided to pick this up to try and it's not bad. $7.99 for a six pack of pint cans at the grocery store. I score it a 4.25 out of 5. Good lawnmower beer.

I drink Pabst almost exclusively because I like it the best out of everything available in a 30 pack. If I'm feeling a little more zesty I'll spring for Coors banquet in a bottle or Schlitz. But when men and my friends do anything it's always Pabst. Because it's universally accepted and cheap.

I am, in fact, enjoying a TALL PBR - as we speak - and over my holiday vacation.
I am a homebrewer, and longtime beerhound(attended many beer festivals, competitions, etc) since circa 90’
I am 51 years of age, so I fit your profile. Lol
All kidding aside? I have been drinking this excellent swill since high school. I remember the price, for a suitcase well: $9.09/24 pack
My buddies, and I would chip In a couple bucks & we were GOOD!
I used to write ✍️ a weekly(beer) editorial dubbed “Libation Station” for a news website. I have enjoyed the best of the best beers. I have brewed nearly every style.
I digress, PBR is like comfort beer? Kinda like comfort food. Poor analogy? 😆
5/5 my standard for excellent cheap beer. No frills. Brother. 🍻
P.S: could’ve been my young, impressionable self, watching my dad/uncles put em away in the 70’s/80’s. But I don’t think I’d drink it, on that account. It’s good! PROST! 🍻

I drink whatever I find that's cheapest. Usually Hamm's, Old Milwaukee, Natty, etc. I couldn't care less about what others think about it. If PBR is on sale, I'd drink that too. Things are getting too pricey to be worried about impressing others.
