- With over 1,000 comics tucked away in an attic, a friend asked me to sort and grade them all. From the Golden Age to the Bronze Age, there were so many books to sort. In this video, I go through all of the really cool books found in the attic!

I Funkin Loove Archie & Jughead. Also thank you for the shoutout. It’s always a joy to mix your music 🙏
I appreciate your help over the years, sir! Thank you for watching!
Just absolute great stuff, Derek. Love the new intro and logo. Neal Adams 🔥. I squealed when I saw the Star Trek. Beat up or not, those are too cool. Great video brother. And bloopers at the end, my favorite!
Thanks so much, Nate! You can expect bloopers at the end of every video from now on 😉
And yes, that Star Trek... My heart still weeps for its condition. Alas...
That opening slaps! I think that's what the kids are saying these days! Great video man, you put in the work and found some cool books. Keep up the great work my friend!
I appreciate the love, as always, Brandon! Thank you!
Ha! Great intro ❤ What fun to process some old attic books
Thanks for the love, Dan! Yes, it was a heckuva lot of fun to do! I wish more people had comics for me to sort through!
FYI. There is an error on some copies of the brave and the bold 93. It's on the interior copyright. The error says "brave and the bowl"
The precursor to The Brave Little Toaster? You decide!
I actually found a box of great comics in an attic decades ago.
A lady owned a hairdresser shop with an apartment over the top. She had raised her son there and he was a grown man and gone. I was 17 in high school. She was having a yard sale and I had stopped ot look at some old toys. I asked about comics and she said he son had put some of his comics in the attic, and she would sell them to me if I got them out for her. So up a ladder I went!
She wanted all his childhood stuff gone. I bought the box of comics, around 250 of them, all Marvel for $25 (she had asked $.25 and I asked how much for all and she said $25). This would have been around 1992.
I went home and started looking through them more closely and found; Marvel Spotlight 5, Ghost Rider 1, X-Men 94, Giant Size X-Men 1, Hulk 181, Iron Man 55, Amazing Spiderman 129, and bunch of other amazing books. Basically the books were all mini runs (like Marvel Spotlight 5 through Ghost Rider 10; Giant Size 1 through X-Men 100). Years and years later when CGC came on the scene, I started grading them. The worst grade I got back was a 7.5 (Marvel Spotlight 5). Most ended up 8's and 8.5's. I think the highest book was the X-Men 94 in a 9.2.
So that was a true attic find everyone dreams about!
This story is the attic dream I've always wanted to come across! That is super cool and incredible! Congratulations on your score and thank you for sharing!
Neal Adams is supposed to of hated that Action #419 cover, he drew a background to it, but without his knowledge the editor thought he had a better idea! That Adventure #415 is a Bob Oksner cover, he did a few of the later ones I believe! Sorry to disagree with you but that Weird War #9 is from 1972, Bronze age! Lovely Nick Cardy cover! Funnily enough #8 is a Neal Adams cover, so just missed out, lol!
I didn't know all of that information about Adams' covers! Thank you for sharing. And yes, Nick Cardy did some awesome horror covers for DC. And no need to apologize: I definitely goofed about Weird War Tales - thanks for calling it out - and for watching!
@@UncannyDerekComics I've not seen your channel before, don't know why! Seemed a bit rude correcting you after only one video, I did sub though! My little channel I only show covers with a bit of trivia, I like comments to let me know I'm wrong, don't get many, not because I'm not wrong, just not enough comments, I love talking comics, main reason I started the channel!
Really great books! Too bad about that Star Trek #1.
That Star Trek had so much potential... Regardless, it was still a lot of fun to uncover!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
love u
You're the MVP here, dude!
Nicce video. Rat/mouse chew is so terrible
Thanks for watching! Yeah, it really is. If you haven't seen my livestream video yet, I did uncover a nest too...
@UncannyDerekComics we had a mouse early in the spring and I captured it. Exterminator went over the house and now we have mouse "radar" as he found an old nest
What Nothing happens in tales of suspense 96? Ummm Iron man gets turned to stone and thrown off a building. It horrified my 9 year old mind. Fortunately Next issue agent Sitwell …. But that would be a spoiler so nope nope nope
I stand corrected! 😂 Thanks a ton for watching!
