I still don't understand why I see people hating on Ryobi cordless tools. I've been using them relatively frequently for nearly 15 years now with little issues.
Same here Bro, I've only had one ryobi tool give me a problem after at least 15 years of using a large platform of their 18v tools and table saws, getting ready to take advantage of home depots black Friday sale and grab the new brushless hammer drill and free tool combo, probably the brushless impact
agreed. Ive invested in Ryobi and Milwaukee. Both are great but Milwaukee doesn't even make an 18v inflator. Ryobi has 3 different ones. Just picked up the Ryobi brushless jigsaw bare tool for $64 brand new. Milwaukee wants $199....no thanks. Ryobi also makes better nail guns than Milwaukee any day of the week, and for considerably less coin too.
Because some people are very naive, gullible, easily manipulated and persuaded and ultimately brainwashed into thinking there is nothing comparable to Milwaukee, makita, dewalt etc....yea like this video says it all!! Ive got ryobi tools and i deem them to be faultless and exceptional quality. Spending more doesn't generally mean better!
This was exactly the review I needed to see. I’m going to be buying one! The use I need it for is for cutting chains from my tires when they break and get stuck in between the duels. Yes, it might be hard to get this in between there, but it will be a lot easier than using a pair with long handles, which is almost impossible. Thank you.
I love this tool, only had it for a couple of weeks, it took several trigger pulls(it will stop once it feels that its pretty tough but every time you squeeze the trigger will continue cinching up until its all the way thru) but it cut itl,I had to cut some automotive 3/8" hardened steel solid steel bar it took several trigger shots but it cut it, very violently mind you when the second part of link was cut, so use caution and safety gear,I had tried to cut this bar with my so called "Monster" 30" bolt cutter but it was impossible unless I blew my biceps so this thing totally saved me.
Tanner - fire departments around me Are carrying them mainly because they can use them for cutting locks on gates to get in to long driveway because most people have gates on theirs now and cutting hindges of doors
Hey Clint this is back at Home Depot after a hiatus. Lots of mixed reviews from 2-3 years ago. Any interest in getting your hands on a new one and sorting it out?
Those work much better than I thought they would. I was extremely surprised that they cut through the stainless steel lag bolt. I wonder how much replacement jaws would cost? I found it hard to believe that you couldn't adjust the jaws, so I looked at the instruction manual. ADJUSTING THE JAWS See Figure 4, page 8. With use, the jaws may develop a gap that could result in incomplete cuts and should be adjusted. WARNING: Never remove the jaw cover before making a jaw adjustment. Attempting to adjust the jaws without the cover installed can result in serious personal injury. Remove the battery pack and place the tool on a flat surface with the eccentric bolts facing up. Using a 13 mm wrench, hold the eccentric bolt. With a second 13 mm wrench, slightly loosen the lock nut on the other side. Turn the eccentric bolts to adjust the jaws until the gap is closed. Tighten the lock nut.
Not sure what the problem is. I just clicked on "read more" and it works for me. It's basically the instructions from the owner's manual explaining how to adjust the jaws.
Do you think it would be too much of a stretch for Ryobi or another company to make the jaws wider and a stronger force so that It can cut easily through 1 inch metals?
My local HD had these on clearance when I was there yesterday for $57, came home and watched your video to see how effective they were and you definitely sold me on them. Thanks! Has anyone had to replace the jaws yet? Wondering if they are universal to other brand blades or if they specifically have to be the ryobi ones.
Yeah, I bought one....and of course immediately went and cut some bolts and stuff to play with it and now my jaws are kinda chipped up too. Looking around it seems like the replacements are like $45. That's half the cost of the tool. So kinda bummed about that....
I wonder how much effort is needed when just using bolt cutters? Point being, why not just use bolt cutters? is it just the size issue, or easier cutting? Did do an excellent job!
Idk why but tools are like toys for me. I have tools I have never even used yet. And I've decided to jump into the ryobi line up and so far I own 6 tools in the line up and I can't complain about the quality and price. And this tools right here I do not need at all but I want it. 🤣🤣🤣
I would be curious if you can still thread a nut on that bolt. As someone who works with a lot of 3/8 threaded rod, I would be interested. Yes, I do know about all mechanical rod cutters.
@@ToolReviewZone Sure, thanks. If it works the first try, cut 10 to validate consistency. I think it will become slightly oval at the tip and not work, that's why a proper rod cutter has conforming jaws and faux threads to retain shape.
We have had two of these both of which haven't lasted 6 months just cutting seals off trailor doors update 5/16 the second pair is still going strong two years later must of just got a bad pair which Ryobi replaced cut about 100 container seals a day
