Where Do We Stand on Prologues?

On today's episode of Jennifer McPeek Writes And Does Other Stuff, Too, my brain breaks a little bit while I wonder aloud about what people think about prologues in books.
Maybe it was the Dayquil. Maybe it was the imposter syndrome. Maybe I just have weird thoughts sometimes.
