Great video Davey. Thank you for putting this out and dummy down for me. I’m a senior learner and this helps me break through some of the theory issues I’ve been struggling with in my journey. 😊
Just come across your channel Davey and instant subscriber, one of the clearest explanations and demonstrations that I’ve ever seen, excellent, many thanks!
This essentially the same concept of the caged system but a damn good lesson for intermediate level guitarists. Next should be learning the Triads as chord shortcuts, especially on the first three or four strings where most lead is
I don't see where the red dots are the key, don't see a d shaped scale on the D shape.. I do appreciate you show my beginner friends what you said about the egg shape going up the neck my Commander Cody smoke that cigarette I saw the guy do it and blew my mind all it takes is a strat and an amp! Aloha
The D shape scale is there...i was in the key of A. The D chord would be the 9th frets on the E and G string. 10th fret on the B string. Hope that helps
Thank you so much! As an aging guitarist who basically cannot read music I have had a door opened for me! Do you have downloadable copies of the scale patterns?
I disagree with you. But everyone learns differently. So if that works for you, go for it. If you know these 3, the other ones are combinations of the others.

Also, Red dots are the root notes when you're playing the major scales in those positions

There’s the 5 patterns of CAGED. There’s the 7 patterns of “3 notes per string” in which each mode gets one pattern. Fewer patterns aren’t good.

Caged is now just A,C,E or G,C,E..only 3 shapes..(c&d are same, right? (I know you got it) Alohoho
