    I find your video much more encouraging than the artsy Bibles where they have a single verse highlighted on a page with the whole rest of the page - including the words - decorated. Yours is Bible study at its finest. The others are just using a Bible as a foundation for decorations. I know my opinion is unpopular, but it is what it is.

    • @2278TLC
      @2278TLC 5 месяцев назад +11

      How do you know that others are using it for a foundation for decorations? Everyone has their own way of studying. You don’t know what God may have told them, and why their pages look like that. Don’t judge. Someone could look at THIS video and say the same things about how she “decorated” her Bible

    • @IwalkInTheGarden
      @IwalkInTheGarden 3 месяца назад +2

      I agree with you. You can have an opinion without judging someone. It is my opinion that there are other books that are appropriate for art journaling. You can add verses to those. God's word is meant to be studied. If you cover the words with art, how can that be accomplished? Decorating is not truly spending time in God's word. Give me notes, give me highlights. Increase my understanding. Don't cover it up. Don't let Satan whisper sweet nothings in your ear. Hugs and encouragement to you dear sister in Christ.

    • @2278TLC
      @2278TLC 3 месяца назад +5

      @@IwalkInTheGarden you can study the Word ANY WAY YOU LIKE. There are no rules to studying Gods Word. Don’t take away how God speaks to people. He speaks in many ways, and for some it may be through art. If you want to do notes, and highlights have at it. Studying Gods word looks different for EVERYONE. I’ve seen more people be judged for coloring in their Bible than just praising God that someone is in His word at all.

    • @IwalkInTheGarden
      @IwalkInTheGarden 3 месяца назад

      @@2278TLC are you incapable of allowing someone to have an opinion that differs from yours? Where in my post did you get the idea I was judging anyone.? Please tell me how the words can still be seen through the decorations. Don't be so quick to judge people who have opinions that differ from yours. My only objection was covering up the words so that they can't be read. Being able to read the words is an important part of studying and actually being in the word. Do as you wish. It's between you/them and God.

    • @2278TLC
      @2278TLC 3 месяца назад +2

      @@IwalkInTheGarden EXACTLY!! It’s between me and God. Or whomever and God. If they decide to cover up the words that has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU OR ME. And I’m not incapable of allowing different opinions. You’re entitled to it, but you are making a BOLD statement that because people are covering the words in the Bible it’s not being studied right. There is no right or wrong way to study. Why do they need to use other books that are “appropriate “ by your standards to art journal. (Your words not mine) The Bible is appropriate for that. ESPECIALLY if that’s all a person has, and they speak to God THROUGH art. ANYWAY You be blessed because I’m not going back and forth with a “Christian” who is giving people crap for “decorating” their Bible; and yes I am one those people who has no problem covering the words in my Bible, and God is STILL SO good to me. ✌🏽

    Art journaling is a beautiful expression that is therapeutic, and washes the soul. It is however, aesthetic in nature. Exegesis of scripture, on the other hand, is digging out deep spritual truth from God's expressed will. The Bible then becomes food for the soul.

      My dear, when people are kind enough to put themselves on display and offer their ideas and opinions, I find the best rule to follow is the Thumper Rule. Please understand, when this young lady notes, draws and adds pictures and important information to her book, she is interacting with God’s word. I love that it doesn’t sit on her shelf unused and instead she learns from the scriptures in her way!

Acctually, all of them are considered by society of low morals, Ruth being a Moabite and Mary getting pregnant before having husband. He pointed out those specific women, because of their faith. They all have proven obedience to God. I thought it might interest you. God bless

    All those laws in Leviticus-are now in our possession to protect and experience-as priests under the New covenant. If you read carefully-find true convection in the trust and love of our Father through the great sacrifice of His Son for us. The holding of the head of the sacrificial animal-as the sacrifice is performed. That is Gods hands, on his own Son as he performed the sacrifice of his own Son for us. Not so tedious if you put into perspective.

    I love that you have discovered and shared that knowing the context of the Old Testament gives great insight to understanding the New Testament. I think we learn only the basic stories as we grow up in the church, but don’t really dig into the Word to put it all together. The books of the Law are really difficult to get through but when you keep going you do have a much better understanding of the whole story.

    Thank you for walking through your process for bible journaling. I've been struggling with "my" format. I also take alot of notes, and I like to get creative, but the creative part if minimal. My free time is limited, so when I have large chunks of free time, I study the bible. One day when I'm retired and I have more free time, I will definitely dive more into the art part of the journaling. I do enjoy both. I've been buying the scripture notebooks so that I have lots of room for notes and creativity. However, I love your interleaved process.

    Can you explain context notes?

    • @itscassburton
      @itscassburton  Год назад +1

      I’m typically trying to find what was going on with the culture, or the politics if I’m looking for context. Then it can help me understand why the passage would read a certain way. I have found that any of the letters of Paul to be good beginning places for trying to understand the politics.

    God bless you, I would love a Spanish Bible with the blank pages for my notes. Any idea where can I get one. I do have the one with the large margin on the side and another one with the large margin in the middle. I goggle it but couldn’t find one 😢

      I’m not sure. You could try ChristianBooks.com if Google has been unsuccessful. That’s a very large resource for Bibles and study materials, and I know they have a section for Spanish language books and Bibles.

    2 questions. Which Bible is the one here and did you insert each blank sheet between the pages or did the Bible come this way?

      This is the NKJV Interleaved Bible, so this comes with a blank page between each page

    This has INSPIRED me so much!!! I never thought about an interleaved Bible. but I am getting one asap. This is a BLESSING and stirs my heart so much. Can you tell me what source you use for your book introductions like for Leviticus,, source for Numbers notes and book map ideas. What kinds of pens do you use to write on the vellum. Thank you so much for sharing this. 🥰✝

    I have that same interleaved but the texture was just all wrong for me (i know..weird.) 😢 I bit the bullet and ended up ordering the leather bound one. HOWEVER..when I discovered interleaved..life changing lol. I am a big note taker and I had always wished there was more room! I didn't like toting around an additional journal.

      Depending on which one you like and what you’re expecting to get out of it. The Canon is pretty good for small wallet size photos but don’t expect great detail. And the Pooli is printed on thermal receipt paper so it can be very grainy.

      Thank you! I just use regular scotch tape, and bend it backwards (non-sticky side) over a ruler. Then I'll use that to guide into the crease with the vellum.
