I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
Stephen Takes the shortcut on the Cool Cool Mountain Slide thinking that's were a lot of coins are... How wrong you are Stephen. Also 25:17 It did take a life off the life counter but considering the effort to get back to another star and then go back to Bowser for Mal, it makes sense to keep fighting Bowser
I usually pick up about 75 coins just taking the slide it makes the 100 coin star super easy. Unless you make the mistake of collecting your 100th on the slide then it's a nightmare.
1:20 - 2:27 Memorable Moments 20:30 You can long jump across that bridge. The last red coin you got in Cool Cool mountain is contained in a block of ice in the DS version. 28:09 Bridge of ice to the star is bigger in the DS version.
Yeah, think that last red coin was deliberately frozen to highlight how Yoshi could handle _just about anything_ short of ghosts and armed combat with his tongue or eggs.
Plus, there's the caps to transform into the other characters, which only Yoshi can start a stage with. Really, Yoshi just beats everything in that game.
Stephen&Mal Plays Super Mario 64 Totals;This Episode Deaths : Stephen: 2;2 Mal : 8;4 Stars : Stephen:20;3 Mal :10; Coins Collected : Stephen: 815;268 Mal : 327;36 Damage Taken : Stephen: 42;18 Mal : 82;10
I need to stop expecting Stephen to be as familiar with everything as I am, just because he grew up with the game, because I keep getting frustrated with him not remembering certain things, and overestimating how powerful the cannon's shot is :P For the record: you can kill the snowmen the same way you can kill the giant eyeballs later, i.e. circling around them until they die. I think they also give a blue coin. Oh and there are tons of coins the slide, while the shortcut didn't even have a single coin.
The Intelligent One - Don't think that'll work with the bouncing ones, though. Stephen also mentions partway through one attempt that using the slide for the 100-coin star can be... rather _inconvenient_ if you manage to cross the threshold while on the way down. I'd agree that gathering the slide coins early would circumvent the issue entirely... but then again we're not the ones playing here, are we?
Oh, yeah I should've clarified that AFAIK the bouncing snowmen on the bridge are indeed invulnerable. It's just the ones that throw snowballs at you that you can kill, which can be important later *hint hint* And yeah, I'm just saying that while Stephen said that there are a lot of coins on the shortcut, that's actually false, as there are literally none, there's just 5 in front of it, which you can get without having to take the shortcut anyway. Though, actually getting the 100 coin star on the slide isn't as bad as you'd think it is. When the star appears the world pauses during the animation anyway, so you have time to not panic, and as long as you jump immediately, and pull back, towards the star, you will almost always end up either grabbing the star immediately, or at least slowing yourself down enough that with a bit of extra non-stop jumping, you can grab it fairly easily.
The Intelligent One - I never actually argued against your point there, just paraphrasing what Stephen said. Mind, I usually took my own advice when playing through this game and cleared out the slide early in the level.
I'm so amused at the trouble in Cool Cool Mountain, because that's not a world I ever had any issues with. I await with much glee to you guys tackling Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride.
Technically Mal did get "killed" during the Bowser fight; Mario's lives goes from 17 to 16. But the game was kind enough to not make you repeat the level!
Skunt - If you're talking about the 100-coin star to Red Coin star, it was addressed earlier in the series that they're not counting the 100-coin ones for the purpose of switchovers. As for Mal getting two go's at Bowser, Stephen _did_ mention that Mal was "required" to handle the Koopa King.
My intention was not at all to nitpick or complain! They can play the game however they want! I was just pointing out something they didn't seem to realize.
thequeensthief - I wasn't saying that to you directly. I was just correcting Skunt on a technicality that had been covered while also addressing Mal's situation in the video.
Honestly, those first two red coins in Bowser´s level can be a pain in the butt even if you beat the game countless times since sometimes, you just don´t react quick enough to turn around. I have had times where I get it first try and other times where I got game overs so I don´t blame Mal for dropping off the cliff.
To be fair, the first time can't really be excused, though. There is a button right there on the screen, and there's nothing under the coin, so she should've known that the button would do at least something to help her :P

I was crying with laughter for most of the episode. I'm glad that I didn't play a lot of this as a kid, so my memory of it is very limited. I imagine people who know the game well were pulling their hair out during some of this episode.
Fun fact: You can jump on one of those spinny guys and spin-float your way down to that bottom area on the snowy mountain instead of using the cannon. WAY easier.
I've only pulled off that long jump once, and the spin guy method I've only used a handful of times. The cannon method always seems easier to me, but clearly it's more time consuming.
Tapu_Zacho For me at least, PIKMIN 2 WAS ONE OF THE MOST FRUSTRATING THINGS IVE EVER WATCHED BY FAR. But I’ve played pikmin 2 much more than I played Super Mario 64
21:22 No the thing that sucks is that you spent god knows how long on the 100 coins when you could've got almost 80 of them at the beginning if you didn't take the shortcut on the slide
Stephen you can ground pound the flower enemies immediately to prevent yourself from twirling in the air. Jumping normally on them causes you to twirl.
3:30 Fun fact: try pausing in this room when the penguin's looking at the camera 7:50 The snowmen are killed similarly to Mr. I, by running around it. They just sort of fall over and die. (wish I'd known that when I played...) 8:08 You can also avoid the slow spinning fall by groundpounding the spindrifts 11:36 Major problem with 100-coin star on the slide: when you leave the slide the 100-coin star disappears
In the "Wall Kicks Will Work" star, you can completely ignore the triple-jump wall kick off the sloped wall, and instead perform a side-flip wall jump off the back wall to get to the platform. It's much easier, although a useless tip at this point, most likely.
i really wish i also didn't know anything about this game it would decrease how much i go 'no stephen. no that's not-- no...' i do understand it's been a while though
It's weird to me how *green* Bowser's first stage is. As far as I can remember, every TV I have ever owned had rendered it as a more bluish green than that. (about the same bluish green that the right side bar is when Mal is in control of the game)
You can kill those snowmen by running circles around them and it's not a bad way to get coins, but that specific one would be more trouble than it's worth because of the angle anyway. (Funny that I would bring this up since I actually never knew that while playing this game. Only learned it from LPs. XD )
...Mal, I don't know how, but I get the feeling you were thinking about Kaizo Mario 64 at 17:26. Because that game hides a few red coins in that area, and one is even up around the area you were thinking of.
18:22 "yeah" "ok" "right?" "yeah" "yeah" "yeah" "yeah" "yeah" "yeah" also re: 25:32 tbf it's kinda weird on the wii u jump is A instead of B. It's tripped me up too.
In Mal's defense, I probably would have walked off the cliff in the beginning too. Not because I was trying to, but because I would have wanted to see if I could get juuuuust close enough to the edge to grab the coin. I have also never played this game. So.
1:41-2:25 memorable moment! (Oh mY GoD THe BuTTOn)
Can’t help but hear Gingy’s voice from Shrek when Stephen’s talking about the button.
I know right? That should be a memorable moment. It's too funny with that voice.
allyfern99 "I wonder what's this red button do?" *Starts singing dumb ways to die*
I name it "YOU KNEW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN"
"THERES A GIANT BUTTON!", Stephen Georg 2018

@Ramon Izaiah instablaster ;)
1:40-2:30 Super Mario 64 causing Stephen stress quicker than Pikmin 2 did. :D
Yep, a StephenPlays' Memorable Moment...
Some would say she is Mal-io
Pikman107 watching Stephen and mal play pikmin 2 brings me stress
2:07 - 2:22 I love it when Ninten just spontaneously comes out of Stephen. Memorable Moments (?)
Like in the Trouble game, it's a nice surprise when it appears.
1:36-2:24 Memorable moment
"Ninten yells at Mal"
1:39 - 2:23 for memorable moment "THE BUTTON"
Strawberryflavored so, chu's dad returns?
Stephen was borderline "blue Rupee" during that.
Maybe I just walk out there..... JESUS BE WITH ME
1:40-2:25 Instant Memorable Moment
Sounds like he's doing a Mickey Mouse impression. Either that or the room was filling with helium.
Sounded like the Gingerbread Man from Shrek to me. "Not the giant gumdrop button!"
Memorable moments: Mario 64; a compilation of every single time Mal falls off that cliff
And Stephen, now as of Episode 8
The 100 coin star is actually a lot easier if you don't take the shortcut on the slide, there are a lot of coins you miss by doing so
1:39 NINTEN RETURNS
Ganondorf?
In this episode, Stephen and Mal take on the biggest challenge Super Mario 64 has to offer: cliffs.
1PressL2P There was literally no coins on the shortcut. He was way off
Ryan San Agustin there are so many coins while just taking the normal route on the slide
I usually pick up about 75 coins just taking the slide it makes the 100 coin star super easy. Unless you make the mistake of collecting your 100th on the slide then it's a nightmare.
1:20 - 2:27 Memorable Moments
20:30 You can long jump across that bridge.

28:09 Bridge of ice to the star is bigger in the DS version.
Yeah, think that last red coin was deliberately frozen to highlight how Yoshi could handle _just about anything_ short of ghosts and armed combat with his tongue or eggs.
And the reason why I like being Yoshi in the DS version.
Plus, there's the caps to transform into the other characters, which only Yoshi can start a stage with. Really, Yoshi just beats everything in that game.

I just always try to explain myself the best, just to make sure the chance of a misunderstanding is as close to zero as possible.
I'm so amused at the trouble in Cool Cool Mountain, because that's not a world I ever had any issues with. I await with much glee to you guys tackling Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride.
Ah, Tick Tock CLock and Rainbow Ride.
AKA "Murder: The Level" and "Murder: The Sequel"
What about Murder 3: Electric Boogaloo?
Taking the shortcut in the slide area was a bad idea when going for the 100 coin star. There were more down the slide. Just an FYI.
If this keeps up the rest of the series will be a memorable moment

Of course. I was mostly meaning the times she did push that big button. :P
I feel like a minimum of 30 minutes per episode works really well for this series. Loving it so far, though.

Episode fact: Stephen finally died for the first time in the let's play. Both of them died multiple times, Stephen(100 coins/red coins) Mal(Bower level). This is the first 'death' episode since both of them died more than once.
Miscellaneous facts
The game borrows its sound effect for entering a Bowser course from Hotel Mario's third main cut-scene, when Mario enters an orange pipe.
So can we make a Memorable Moments highlight reel of all of Mal's deaths in the Bowser level plus her jumping up and down on the trapdoor?
When Mal died that third time, I had to pause the video because I was laughing so hard I couldn't hear Stephen's incredulous screams.
All of mal's deaths in the pre-bowser thing should be compiled into a memorable moment
Memorable Moments 1:34 - 2:23 I Believe I Can- oh.
I could only imagine how frustrated y’all get at the deaths but Mal dying in the same spot a few times was just hilarious makes for great content! ❤️
I was crying with laughter for most of the episode. I'm glad that I didn't play a lot of this as a kid, so my memory of it is very limited. I imagine people who know the game well were pulling their hair out during some of this episode.
When Mal died at Bowser, it did take a life away.
1:35-2:24 for Memorable Moments
This episode had me laughing so hard XD The struggle is real but they did get it done.
This entire episode is a memorable moment.
Fun fact: You can jump on one of those spinny guys and spin-float your way down to that bottom area on the snowy mountain instead of using the cannon.
WAY easier.
Or the brave people can just long jump down from the start point, and with careful aim land down there in less than 10 seconds :P
I've only pulled off that long jump once, and the spin guy method I've only used a handful of times. The cannon method always seems easier to me, but clearly it's more time consuming.
Yeah, I'm very impatient, so I just go for the long jump until it works :P
This whole episode is a memorable moment
1:46 - 2:22 is a Memorable Moment IMO
Nominate 1:35 to 2:25 as the best memorable moment ever.
Memorable Moment 1:40
12:53 should be a memorable moment
Starting off with a memorable moment
Memorable moment 19:45 to 19:55. Mal jumping off cliffs
oh please, please, please with a cherry on top do 1:30-2:22 for a memorable moment. lol
I don't know whats more torturous to watch, this or Pikmin 2.
I don't usually contribute to memorable moments, but 1:40-2:30 seems like it would be good. I'd call it THERE WAS A GIANT BUTTON!
Stephen you can ground pound the flower enemies immediately to prevent yourself from twirling in the air. Jumping normally on them causes you to twirl.
3:30 Fun fact: try pausing in this room when the penguin's looking at the camera
7:50 The snowmen are killed similarly to Mr. I, by running around it. They just sort of fall over and die. (wish I'd known that when I played...)

Memorable Moments 27:54, goo goo, baby mario, cold weather is the worst
this whole episode is a memorable moment !!
This episode was so funny! As a content creator who beat this game 100% twice as two different series this was awesome and so much fun to watch! :D
Lucah's british Bowser voice will always be my favorite, but Mitch Hedberg is a good decision
High-pitched Stephen is what I live for.
1:35 - 2:21 for Memorable Moments XD
In the "Wall Kicks Will Work" star, you can completely ignore the triple-jump wall kick off the sloped wall, and instead perform a side-flip wall jump off the back wall to get to the platform. It's much easier, although a useless tip at this point, most likely.
In case you didn't know, you don't take fall damage if you land on snow.
Maro gets stuck briefly.
Stephen at 1:41 with his increasing intensity starts almost sounding like the Rake in Conker's Bad Fur Day XD
i really wish i also didn't know anything about this game
it would decrease how much i go 'no stephen. no that's not-- no...'
i do understand it's been a while though
I don't know why that's so funny (@ 12:56) with Stephen in command: "yahoo!...uhhh." Then Mario falls. 😆😆
1:35 - 2:23 is a memorable moment indeed
I can never not think of NintendoCapriSun's laugh whenever I see the thing at 26:22.
Today's episode:
Combined deaths: 6
Stephen deaths: 2 (8:57, 12:55)
Mal deaths: 3 (1:43, 9:42, 13:40) + 1 Bowser Death (25:11)
Total deaths:
Combined deaths:10
Stephen deaths: 2
Mal deaths: 8
Deathless episodes: 1 (obviously), 3
1:34-2:32 Memorable Moment
The memorable moment at 1:40 should just be "I believe I can fly"
It's weird to me how *green* Bowser's first stage is. As far as I can remember, every TV I have ever owned had rendered it as a more bluish green than that. (about the same bluish green that the right side bar is when Mal is in control of the game)

Love the Mitch Hedberg voice :)
...Mal, I don't know how, but I get the feeling you were thinking about Kaizo Mario 64 at 17:26. Because that game hides a few red coins in that area, and one is even up around the area you were thinking of.
2:04-2:30 was a wrong time to be drinking water because I couldn’t stop laughing
Stephen’s falsetto adds a day to my lifespan.
"SO LONG, GAY BOWSER!"
I nominate 1:45 to 2:25. Memorable Moments
Include 9:44 to 10:10 after
And 13:40 to 13:53
18:22 "yeah" "ok" "right?" "yeah" "yeah" "yeah" "yeah" "yeah" "yeah"
also re: 25:32 tbf it's kinda weird on the wii u jump is A instead of B. It's tripped me up too.
wait jump is b in the n64 version
It's still A on the N64. I assume that the point was that most Wii U games as well as other systems with that button layout tend to use B as jump.
Stephen actually could've jumped from the start of Cool, Cool Mountain to the Wall Kicks Will Work star.
19:50 "DON'T RUN AWAY FROM ME!"
LOLXD
23:53 though Stephen said "dafuq, Mario?!" lol
In Mal's defense, I probably would have walked off the cliff in the beginning too. Not because I was trying to, but because I would have wanted to see if I could get juuuuust close enough to the edge to grab the coin.
I have also never played this game. So.
23:53
I do not hear an "l" in there. It sounds like Bowser's saying "Dafuq, Mario."
Whenever Stephen loses control I wonder if he has to cook dinner for Mal that night 😂😂😂
I'm so in love with this episode
2 alternate titles for this episode:
1. Mal vs. The cliff
2. Mal vs. Mitch Hedburg
Ahh, we definitely need a Mitch Hedbowser compilation.
Thank you for changing bowsers voice back
Mal VS The First Red Coin in Bowser 1.
3:47 “That’s where the coins are”, haha
this episode gave me so much anxiety w/how many edges you were sliding around ;0;
9:46 Stephen and I both said "Mallory" at the same time.
aww i wanted to see your reaction if you managed to get 30 stars before you fought bowser the first time.
1:34 - 2:23 has been mentioned for Memorable Moments so much already, but I'm going to add to the pile. THE BUTTON FOR MEMORABLE MOMENTS
2:05 Ninten our Lord and savior has returned. I always knew the day would come :')
"Slow the fart down" - Stephen Georg 2018

well done with Bowser, now to get that one red coin, the real challenge
1:40- 2:25 you have to make memorable moments with that
You also don't need to do a triple jump wall kick. You can just do a wall jump on the side wall there.
In Mal's defense, that first red coin can be a real pain in the butt to get. Not that I'm defending her just running off the cliff though.
Observe as two minutes into the episode, Stephen starts to turn into Ninten.
Memorable moments 1:35-2:25
First we had the pillar, now we have the button :D
