Sorry to hear you and your family have been ill. I wish you all a quick recovery. As far as the things going on against Min Yoongi, it's just ridiculous. The people who did such things as send flowers like they did really have mental issues. They have been posting so much hate, it's insane and they have been acting like they are Army's, but real Army's would never do such things. Who ever does these things need help with their mental health.

Did you see the real footage which was released just half an hour back? The earlier footage spread by JTBC and Yonhap News was manipulated. It wasn't Suga. Now they are taking down the manipulated news and videos after enabling Suga's witch hunt for a week. The real footage shows he was riding a cycle like vehicle with a motor probably at a speed slower than he walks in his real life on the foot path and fell while taking a turn to enter his home. He wasn't lying a bit about the incident. Its very clear in the footage. He fell just in front of the house. I hope Bighit sues all media platforms and twiter accounts for spreading misinformation and harrasing him for a weak!

@@komerican-og Yes. You can check by yourself and the sad part is Korean netizens/fans of other groups are still after him saying things like he could kill someone! Correct me if I'm wrong and I'm sorry if my statement hurts you but my understanding from seeing how Korea has been handling certain situations over the past few yours is that although most societies are toxic and often take out their frustration of living in a competitive world, on famous people, in Korea it is at a different level altogether! But it is just ironic that the good image of Korea that BTS worked so hard to create over the years is being tarnished by the people of their very own nation trying to bring them down! I find it truly unfortunate. We aren't saying he is right but it's not a crime for which he should be character assassinated and harassed like this! Where is common sense truly?

Thank you very much for making this video. It can sometimes be hard for outsiders like me to understand the nuances of a culture, which can be very valuable information to have. In this case, it just makes it so much worse. What horrible people indeed!
This entire case has been quite bad for the image of South Korea tbh. And I'm not talking about Suga's minor mistake; I'm talking about the way the press has behaved and how it actually ended up highlighting the headlines that would otherwise have been front page news and that someone imo tried to hide through all this chaos. Headlines, which only fuelled my impression of SK as a highly corrupt and misogynistic country that I wouldn't want to go to.
I know it's a beautiful country with a rich cultural heritage but they honestly don't deserve our guys. They should be appreciated for their contributions to the country, not hounded, dragged and exploited the way they are. But Karma is an ARMY - let her cook... 😏
I'm glad you're feeling a little better. All the best to you and your family and thank you once again. 💜

i've been an army for years and i'm also on the younger side of the fandom but not too young (just turned 16 a few months ago), yoongi has always been my favourite member of bts however I love them all equally. I struggle with severe clinical depression among other diagnosed mental disorders and through bts I felt true happiness was achievable for the first time in my life. through yoongi, I was healed from so much trauma it's hard to fully describe how much he saved me because there aren't enough words in the world to accurately describe it. By the time I was 10 I was fluent in Korean (self taught) because back then there weren't always subtitles available in english and my second language Afrikaans so I just decided to learn the language. Naturally I'm very familiar with Korean media and have criticized them for years but this is just so disgusting, they're once again starting a witch hunt only MONTHS after Lee Sun Kyun passed away because of them, they're so despicable seriously. thanks uncle John for being a safe place for us to rant and even learn more about situations like this, I'm physically sick, South Korea does not deserve Bts.

Hi John, thanks for covering this. I wanted to know your thoughts on this, but I know you don’t like drama. I had heard that Suga’s alcohol level was .08, but you mentioned it was .227 %. Are the Korean news stories more exaggerated? I also heard the distance Suga rode his scooter was only 500 meters. Is that what you read or heard? Yes, he shouldn’t have been riding under the influence. 500 meters is such a short distance-even I can walk that in less than 10 minutes. It’s just terrible how those haters are acting. I feel so bad for our dear Suga. What’s wrong with those people? How do they get away with it? Anyway, thank you for giving us your thoughts and letting us know what those flowers stand for. I’m sorry you had another bout of Covid. Geez, it seems Covid is going around again, with a new Variant. Glad you’re better.

The initial report was .08 then the most recent reports said that it was .227%. Which means he would get a harsher sentence. It changes starting from .2%. Now I just heard that the video they newly got showed Suga riding for more than 2 Km and even on the sidewalk. I also read a comment that said this was doctored. It was actually of some other guy. I need to check on this but Korean Media and the psychos are nuts. The do not deserve BTS or anything good in this world.

The .227% has just been debuked as we knew it was. We now know the original footage that went out was not Suga. We now have real coverage of Suga falling over his scooter and can clearly see it is what in the UK is classified a Mobility aid (that doesn't even require a driving licence and is not for the road it's for the Pavement (side walk for Americans)and has the ability to have a front basket for the user to put their shopping/ bag etc into. We see the police officers go over to him to check on him it's much clearer than that bogus footage.

Yoongi especially has never tried to hide his imperfections. He has always taken responsibility for them and has consistently worked on becoming a better person and we admire him for that as well as his genius music. the actuall cctv is out, where its clear like the day that yg is driving slow on a side walk in a helmet and falls on a sharp turn to his home becase of what looks like the front wheel getting stuck. after the fall yg gets up himself, picks up his helmet, picks up the scooter, looking just ok
the speed limit was not violated, as he drove past the patrol officers on his way, the same officers that later came to him after the fall to see if he's ok. they did not stop him, they did not need to help him either
yet the first "report" that was released by kmedia said that yg was so intoxicated that he was found lying on the ground and couldn't even speak coherently!!!
we have a lost of 33 "journalists" writing false and malicious articles about the accident, each wrote more than 20. thats 600+ articles!! the hunt is hust insane
you noticed also how fast the flower wreaths have been reposted by the media? i am so 100% sure they would add fuel to the fire with a low moves like that themselves just so they have things to run their mouths about!
lying about armys doing "suga challenge" as in pretending to drive drunk, when it was never us in the first place and we did not support this stupid idea.
    im so mad
i wish downfall for every outlet and every "journalist" that pushed his name into the dirt for the loud headline. let BH sue them all once the case is closed

Hang in there my younger schoolmate and welcome back!
The SUGA thing is absolutely unbelievable…
It is using the positive, supportive group energy of the Korean culture in a twisted dark and evil way!!
I love how Asian cultures maintain order by pulling together and promoting group harmony over individual selfish behaviors, but twisting this to punish and isolate one individual, in an exaggerated fashion that clearly is more severe than the individuals transgression,is truly deranged societal behavior!
It is group bullying that encourages a person to feel more guilt than they should… especially
in this case after a clear and sincere apology has been made by SUGA!!
This type of exaggerated bullying is clearly meant to try to tear down his self esteem and cripple him mentally!!
I hope he has developed a strong mind over the years as he has worked on himself continuously over the years and I hope he feels the humongous love and support of his fans all over the world!!
These Antis should be found and punished appropriately for bullying and personal harassment of our Min Yoongi!!

having now seen a good photo of it it's something here in the UK you don't even require a Driving Licence for it's called a Mobility Aid and I have an elderly nieghbour eg in her 70's who uses one and it's not for the road it's for the pavement (Sidewalk for American's). The only time it' goes on a road is in order to cross the road. They also have a detachable front basket so the person can put their bag, shopping (grocceries for Americans) into. If the law is now different in the South Korea about operating it differently then Suga must obey those rules. The fact he apologised and accept the fine etc is all that needs to be done. All the lies and calling for him by anti's to be punished further is beyond the pall. It's disgusting and we know it's caused by those trying to distory BTS and HYBE. We know HYBE sue's and I'm sure they will but we'll not be told until later. So called South Korean News are nothing but rumour mongers who fail to 'Fact Check'.

DUI laws are set up to reduce risk of injury to others given the force of a moving vehicle. In South Korea, these safety regulations seem to conflict with the social drinking culture where excessive drinking seems common. Suga seems like a pragmatic, level-headed guy so if he's choosing excessive drinking over safety that says a lot. In the states, alcohol manufacturers regularly post "drink responsibly" in their advertisements and bars are expected to cut people off. Both make money off of drinking so it would be socially unacceptable to ignore or enable excessive drinking. There seem to be few social safeguards in South Korea to reduce DUIs. It seems to fall to individual responsibility which makes no sense given good decision-making goes out the window when drunk. Maybe that's what people want so they can take a holier-than-thou attitude, criticize people, and do vulgar things like send funeral wreaths rather than working to make things safer. And the media creates click-bait to fuel this behavior. It sucks.

About Suga's situation, I truly don't understand people who devote their time on this planet to destroying others or reveling in someone else's mistake, misfortune, etc. It happens often in the US too, although I haven't seen the funeral flowers sent here as a hate message, so thanks for the context. Once the media latches on, the negativity & rumors multiply exponentially here too.
As humans, we are given one chance to live a life. If hateful people spent even half of their time, energy, & resources they waste on hating, to being productive, kind, & helpful, they wouldn't need to focus on creating misery for someone else.
Like BTS talks about in "Ugh," misplaced rage is basically waste in every sense of the word. Unfortunately I think some become addicted to outrage & mistake their anger for thriving. It really is a pathetic way to live. Life is difficult enough without manufacturing things to be angry about & causing misery for others. Just my opinion. Borahae! 💜

I'll never defend Yoongi's actions, but its obvious the people who take it to these extremes don't truly care they've just found a new avenue to justify their vitriolic hate. Personally, I'm tired of fans pretending to care about racism, misogyny, etc. just so they can curse a singer they don't like. It's incredibly insincere and minimizes the actual issue.

To clarify, there has been no clarification on the blood alcohol levels. The original article that reported that said they heard it from an officer, but the article also stated that they can't confirm the number. Which is odd because if the source was valid and the officer they spoke to knew the correct number then that's enough to count as a confirmation. It's coming from the only set of sources who would know for sure if it's coming from the police. Unless that specific officer was not on the case and was blabbing based on what he overheard/gossip without knowing for sure. Even then, a reporter should verify before reporting information as fact. Especially since the investigation is on-going so it's odd that an officer is sharing information about an open investigation in the first place. Unless that's normal in Korean law enforcement. I know different countries do things differently so maybe that's okay there. To me it seems unprofessional to release info on an open case though where the information in question isn't even confirmed.
As of now we still haven't gotten a sure response. And based on the CCTV, Suga appears to have far far too much co-ordination for 0.2%. Frankly at that level, the typical effects are said to include: loss of consciousness, non-responsive, respiratory distress, cardiac distress, lack of comprehension, severly impaired mental/physical/sensory function. It's an extreme number with extreme effects that you can see. He should have had trouble even locating his home at that level but he was riding at a reasonable speed across a stretch where there were several obstacles around yet he maneuvered through it steadily up until he got home. Then it looked like he took the corner too sharply and the wheel sort of stopped abruptly as if it caught on something or it was stopped too quickly making him fall off. Even then he prompty stood up and grabbed his helmet. That percentage doesn't seem to match up with how well he was operating. At most I'd guess around 0.12% - 0.14%. Still bad effects but not drastic.
That said, we all know that riding a scooter after drinking isn't acceptable but the over-zealous reaction and misinformation being spread is out of control. Especially since it's become clear that some of the people reporting are doing so in bad faith. There was a set up that took place where several other fandoms came together to set up ARMY. They wanted the public to think that we were downplaying the incident so much that we were taking pics of ourselves drinking and driving to "support Yoongi". Really it was just antis taking pics of people in their cars with bottles of alcohol and pretending to be ARMY, posting about how we support him with a hashtag to get it trending. When we found proof that it was a set up, we tried to send it to the media to clear out names. Instead of taking down the posts, they created more videos on RUclips, turned off the comments so no one could share the truth, and started restricting the videos so most countries couldn't access it so that people outside of Korea couldn't see what they were doing.
Mind you, the setup wasnt even clever. You only needed to bother to click on the profiles to see it was other fandoms but the media conveniently covered the names so no one could verify for a long time. And the photos used could be dragged and dropped into google and you'd see that they were from Pinterest. Regular people figured it out easily yet we're to believe that reporters simply saw this and spread it around without the tiniest verification. They're just using random tweets for evidence. There's something fishy about how all of this is playing out.

You're actually right about the sort of people who are doing this. We discovered a ground of antis from various fandoms were gathered together chatting about how they'd come up with a way to set up ARMY using Suga's incident and how they'd create a hashtag called #sugachallenge. It was crazy seeing people take time out of their day literally plotting in an online meeting like they're apart of a meeting at a job. It was pathetic to listen to until you realize that these loser really come together to think of ways to take BTS and ARMY down. We're just fans of a group of dudes who make music. It's not that serious. The fact that fans of other groups care soooo much, especially when they could be voting and streaming and buying their faves' music. Instead of focusing on the artists they claim to stan so that they can keep growing in influence, they're busy tearing down the group who they think are taking down their faves. And the fact that one of the fandoms who was a part of this is a HYBE group's fans was crazy considering that their group operates on BTS's revenue which funds much of HYBE and therefore the labels under it. There were some fandoms I expect this from since it's their usual foolishness, but others surprised me.

I watched another channel and apparently the First Lady,, (president’s wife) was being investigated for accepting gifts, which is not allowed as it is considered bribes, she was found guilty of this on the same day of Suga’s news release. The media decided to blow up Suga’s incident instead of the President’s wife illegal activities. People are saying media were pressured into covering it up and they used Suga to do it.

As much as I love S. Korea, K-netizens and antis in S. Korea are the absolute worst excuses for humanity I've ever heard of. International fans don't do these things at such a level. There may be one-off delulus, but they're usually ostracized for it or punished enough that they don't continue. It's like a coordinated, widespread thing in S. Korea and it's just revolting. On a national level, people like that need to be dealt with so that the mindset is no longer so seemingly accepted. After the mess that was 2019, I thought there would be more done to deal with it. I used to want to go back so badly, but the more news I see, the more I'd like to preserve what good memories I have and just leave it at that.

If Suga leaves BTS there is no BTS. this is why suicide culture is so bad there because they are bullied so bad by their own people. its terrible. they are also still trying to figure out if it was a PM vehicle or not. because Suga stated he didnt even realize that he couldnt use that device if he had drank alcohol. and why should musicians bee held to that high standard as a politician. he is a musician. and hes been "well behaved" since debut. if he not allowed a mistake. they are also circulating rumours that he was a bully during basic training. which if anyone knows Sugas personality he doesnt even yell at people lol

Those people are so in-denial that only 32% ARMY of is documented, which are registered at the weverse who could buy merch and get free updates about KPop. Fact is that It's the global ARMY, documented or not, that makes BTS sells out their albums and concerts. They forgot that a considerable number of ARMY would buy BTS' album months or a year after release, waiting for discounted price because BTS album are actually expensive to most ARMY, which is not wrong, not to mention that most ARMY are now saving for their trips to BTS' concerts when they reunite in 2025. After all, BTS music are of quality and timeless. Worse, they are forgetting that BTS concerts in Korea are 40% foreigners. #RespectToYoongi

I'm wondering how common it is in SK culture to send sarcastic funeral wreaths to your enemies? I remember MHJ's flunkies sent a bunch of funeral wreaths to Hybe HQ when her nonsense first came out in April/May. There was a row of 40 of them on the sidewalk and they are not cheap. Anybody with a brain could guess those wreaths were organized, funded, and sent by MHJ's PR firm. Do you think these new wreaths were inspired by the previous ones sent to Hybe, or is this a common thing that people do to make fun of their enemies, or could these wreaths also have been sent by MHJ's paid trolls to distract people from her latest nonsense?
If sending wreaths like this is really shocking and beyond the pale, maybe it is the same people behind it as last time?

Masses are gullible. That is why education is important for a society, and the role of journalism is so important. Truth should be defended and protected by journalistic integrity, and people should be smart enough to sift through the information and make the right assessment. Because it is too easy for people in power to control masses. Look at state of America right now. News media have become a money making and propaganda tools for billionaires and politicians. Flat-out lies and one-sided propaganda are rampant. Losing all functions as journalistic entities. While level of education has been systematically degraded to a ridiculous point. Have you seen how stupid a lot of people have become? This is not a Korean thing but world wide phenomena. The world is degrading and Korea is part of it and I am so sad and afraid for the younger generations who would be hit with the brunt of the consequences. World wide protectionism and polarization to extremism always led to the same result in history. No exceptions. I just prey for the future.

When Korea devalues kpop what if the rest of the world has noticed and also does, that unfortunately would be like karma for the Korean economy wouldn't it. Psy had his kpop international debut which helped facilitate BTS opening the door a Crack; entities are trying to close the crack. If BTS didn't have to be shelved during their prime for 18 months they could be pushing the door much wider, facilitating more success for so many. Imo it seems there is this idea that "there can only be one, " and maybe since they know BTS are getting older and will want to have families, they maybe thought they needed BTS out of the way to make it possible for another younger group to catch on? I also wonder if it could be bad karma to take an entity like BTS who heal millions and save countless lives, they're like a cure for cancer, and subject them to an environment known to traumatize kpop idols? :((((
