I get the feeling you didn't do any research before making that statement because Kinect is a pretty big deal in the robotics circle- it's basically a super cheap laser rangefinder with good software behind it, which has *loads* of useful applications. It's a lot more limited than a proper LRF or LIDAR setup but for many things it's more than adequate and the cost savings are massive- like, a factor of 6, more if you buy the Kinect used.

@@ananastudio Nintendo does this every E3. They have their video presentation and then they stream game demos and hold interviews from the show floor. Doug said it in the direct that you can look for the Treehouse logo to see what they plan on showing off.
It's a pretty low key affair but it helps get across some talking points (like the clusterfuck that is the current Pokemon situation) and sometimes they do some cool things like when they announced Metroid Samus Returns during the Treehouse showcase and not at all during the Direct.

Also it doesn't help most GameStops no longer appeal to the classic console/collector nor the gamers looking to save some money.
If you are being serious, I would NOT invest in GameStop. I invite you to Google their business strategy for avoiding bankruptcy and it is not a good read. They are modeling a less "games" approach and embracing a more recent game stock and preorder model. Never a formula for success unless you really enjoy taking a financial risk. Google it's "Circle of Life" and ask if you could work that way.

Yeah but shooter games as a genre are very cash grabby due to their popularity. Little innovation between competing titles. From what I understand Ttianfall 2 and Doom 2016 probably have done the most for the genre in terms of single player in over a decade. So it really is not hard to gloss over shooter titles.

Fire emblem looks great, the treehouse demonstration wiped any fear I had about the game. And we hadn’t seen a lot of story so it made sense to show that trailer in the direct. But Scott isn’t a big JRPG fan in general so I wasn’t surprised. I was surprised that he was excited about the Mana games though. The remake does indeed look awesome.

Fire Emblem Three Houses gained a lot in the Treehouse showing many things about the gameplay.
And trust me... seeing Fire Emblem Gameplay in the Direct without just being some battle animations would have dragged the presentation. So it was a better idea to give it time in the Treehouse.

I do love how there are "hardcore" gamers out there who always declare how trashy they think Nintendo is and that it's "just for kids", yet Nintendo seem to be the only ones who stand as a beacon for what made gaming great in the first place. They surprise their fans (granted, they also infuriate them from time to time!), they release enjoyable products that are FINISHED! Not rushed out, buggy, glitchy messes. They treat their staff with dignity instead of forcing them to meet unrealistic deadlines and having them sent for therapy. They truly are a shining example of why gaming is fun, which is so, SO refreshing in this day and age of other publishers and developers completely saturating the market with their predatory and scummy practices!
Nintendo, keep doing what you do! :)
Sadly, the Pokemon Company (which is kind of associated much with Nintendo) isn't that bright considering how they're forcing GameFreak to make a new Pokemon game every year even though it would be really good if they just waited a year more.

That was the best part of E3! Everybody was excited to see Banjo, even Scott the Woz lol
I remember the day. I was with my friend and we were watching E3 together. We saw that there was another smash Bros reveal, saw that it was a reprise of the K Rool trailer, and figured it'd be Dixie or Cranky or someone.
My friend can tell you first hand that when I saw that jiggy bounce, I fell on the floor, started screaming "BANJO" repeatedly and made an absolute fool of myself.

While I didn't shout during the reveal (I was watching the Direct at school with some friends), my jaw dropped harder than ever; I was absolutely dumbfounded and I felt incredibly happy.

In counterpoint to your It Looks Fine on Three Houses, that story trailer was basically *exactly* what long-time FE fans wanted. A promise that the School Life parts of the game are just a prelude to a darker war story that everyone's been wanting, with hints of FE4 levels of dark.
Feel free to It Looks Fine it of course, but damn am I hyped.

The franchise had pitiful marketing on the west for more than a godamn _decade_ , Nintendo never bothered pushing the franchise until Awakening became a million seller, again, with basically zero exposure in the west. And even then, it doesn't get any more exposure than any other Nintendo IP.
Sorry these games committed the horrible sin of existing, maybe next time they'll have the decency of cancelling them because some dudes on the internet aren't into it and they _absolutely_ can't stand a two minute trailer.
