Yes! This version is fun but we miss the whole point of the original video and song. They decided that they would go into the studio and write a song together and record it. Watching them play around and try different things, and argue about the lyrics is much more satisfying.
Originally Roger wrote this song about Martin Luther King but while the band was working on it, Roger went away on holiday and when he returned the words had been changed somewhat by Freddie. I still think this song delivers a good message and I always enjoy listening to it. Often we hear, but we don't listen. Thank you for your reaction.
I love Queen yet I love Roger's solo work. My favorite album of his so far is Happiness? His lyrics have a lot more lyrical depth than Queen songs. That's not a criticism since Queen songs appeal to millions but you can interpret them in many different ways lyrically.
@@26shedan I believe this was intentional as Freddie in particular said that songs should be up to the interpretation of the listener and not swayed by the songwriter.
@@sherryheim5504 That was not on this song. Freddie did that on “It’s a Kind of Magic” They did this song all together while making a documentary also. John was the one on vacation during One Vision, he came in late.
I love this song. There's a great live version at Wembley in 1986 and the Making of One Vision is pretty cool to watch them put this together. Thanks for the reaction!
One of my favourite Queen songs - everyone really shines, individually and collectively. You can clearly see their passion for the music . There's a great documentary about the making of this which is a lot of fun. Freddie trying to explain to Roger (who wrote the song) how the drums should sound is hilarious. It also becomes clear how the "fried chicken'" came about!
Loved your reaction! As others mentioned, I definitely recommend watching the “making of One Vision” documentary. It’s amazing to watch their process in the studio.
I love this song and yes not only seems to ring from the Great MLK b7t its like his speech meets John Lennons "imagin" mix and turned into a Awsome Rock Unity song ! Everyone needs to hear more of this song to name one. .
You should check out be making of Radio Gaga. Rumor has it, that Freddie and Roger were drinking vodka and Freddie kept laughing and forgetting the words. Its worth a watch. Also for early Queen I suggest Liar or Death On Too Legs from the Rainbow 1974.
Hi from New Zealand 😀 Love Queen. Was so lucky to see them here in Dunedin with Adam Lambert 💕 just a few weeks before NZ went in to lockdown in 2020. Was an awesome concert. 💕
Speaking of messages in songs, specifically Queen songs, you should listen to "Keep Passing the Open Windows". Not a hit, but a great song by the greatest rock band of all time!
People are mainly good & we hear it & agree with it. Unfortunately we are forced apart by political will for power. Got to avoid the traps of division & embrace as One. One Vision is perfect. 😎
I always love Queen...and Freddie Mercury is one rare talent that ever walk in planet earth..his stage performances are just magnificent, he struts like he doesn't care..I'm just a music prostitute darling..as he would say..
Go see the other , not extended version. Actually making the song, writing and sometimes disagreeing , but working it out I love these guys. Their like family.
Also a Zanzibar-born man of Parsi-Indian ethnicity operating in a White British society. He definitely felt the shadows of prejudice in more ways than one.
Didn't take u long to smile as soon as u heard Freddie’s voice ❤
Greg, Please react to “Making of One Vision” you get to see them working out lyrics and perfecting sounds in the studio.
Yes pls.❤
Yes pleeeeeaaaasssseeee

Loved the joy on your face with this one... When Queen have fun, it's catching ❤
Love them in the studio, a song about hope and unity. Gimmie,Gimmie,Gimmie,Gimme Fried Chicken 😂😂😂
I was at Wembley in 1986 and there is a great live version of this that started the show, have a look.

They have so fun making this song😊 Love watching them. Thanks for your reaction! Greetings from Poland !
They sang on deaf ears. We never came together. Unfortunate. As long as vynil exists, Freddie will never die...Freddie lives. Gimme fried chicken.

Freddie & Micheal J. Have a Collab Out ...The Golden Duet, " There Must be More to Life than This " , Worth the Watch !
This one was written about Martin Luther King Jr life and times. This was written by all 4 members.
To watch how they created is to know…It took All to make Queen!

One of my favorites ❤
This was based on MLK’s ‘I Have A Dream’ speech👌🏻
From the sound track Iron Eagle! Great song!, movie is chessy but worth the watch, classic 80's movies
Excellent review.

Adam WHO😂😂😂😂 I saw Queen in 1982 twice the real Queen with FREDDIE and John Deacon.

Great, thanks!
I think 🤔 of the movie 🍿 “Iron Eagle” every time I hear it now
do you wonder why bands like this don't exist today?

If you love Brian's guitar playing, listen to Brighton Rock. He smashes out a guitar solo about 90 secs. Fantastic player, an artist like them all.
⚡ one rlash
You’re right and what we ever were I learned when I was a teenager but some people don’t get there
This song was about MLK. ❤
GIMME FRIED CHICKEN 🥰 and more QUEEN ✌🏼👑
Go see the other , not extended version. Actually making the song, writing and sometimes disagreeing , but working it out I love these guys. Their like family.
❤🤘
Freddie understood prejudice. He was a bi or gay guy in a straight world.
Also a Zanzibar-born man of Parsi-Indian ethnicity operating in a White British society. He definitely felt the shadows of prejudice in more ways than one.
I seen them in 1982 with Billy Squire. 36 dollars
Where did you see them in 82? I saw them in Biloxi MS and Atlanta GA that year. 2nd row seats in Atlanta
".... gi ve me fried chicken"
You need to watch innuendo
Gimme Gimme Gimme fried chicken 🐓 😂🏴
Did you know Brian and his Dad built his guitar because they couldn't afford one at the time
FRIED CHICKEN
He's saying "one rice one Coke one true/real decision." He's ordering chicken with rice and a Coke.
