Been there. Loved it. Best snorkeling experience i’ve had. Snorkeled on the big island, oahu, the Maldives, cancun, jamaica, bermuda, bahamas and several parts of Florida. This one topped it all. We got to swim with a whale shark. It was the whale shark for me. But the clarity of the water was one of the clearest i’ve seen if not the clearest.
@TheAdventureBuddies yes. So it was actually supposed to have tons of fish but there were only a few black fish. It was kinda scary just to look plain down. It was not crowded like I like to make me feel safe. It was supposed to be. It's always so windy!

I think it depends on who you go w/ - we went with a morning visit with the boat that picks you up at the beach - Kai La Kani I want to say. It was awesome. They park the boat in the deep part and you definitely want to head towards the crater edge where it gets shallower. We saw a bunch of stuff - highlight was a shark right at the end - we were super lucky. Also saw two octopuses - my wife had a good eye. But it wasn't necessary to go there and you could see everything from the shore for free, we really enjoyed it.
I went there as an excursion off Norwegian cruise line and it costed only $99. I thought that was well worth it we stopped at the crater and one other place. The crater was definitely the best of the 2 as the other was not as clear because of the current. They fed us lunch and got 2 alcoholic beverages.
@@TheAdventureBuddies no the excursion was just the crater and another place that had too much current. But it ended up being one of the highlights of our cruise.
Nah.. one of a kind experience. I had my deepest recorded free dive cuz the boat had a depth finder. I free dive in summer to train for north shore winter. I been all over Maui diving. Yes there is a bunch great spots shark pit honolua slaughterhouse n much more
I kind of understand your video because the first time I went to Mauii I did this and it was expensive. I have since learned how easy it is to go snorkeling right off the beach! However looking back I'm glad I went it was still a great experience and the company was great they fed us lunch taught us a few things and we saw humpback whales I would still recommend.
Agree. We had a good time on the boat and the crew was great. But the snorkeling was sub par for what you can get off the shore and for free. Thanks for sharing Jared!!
It was so much better 20 plus years ago. Its sad how bad it has become. Just gray colorless dead coral and the same black fish. There are better areas of molokini but its just been destroyed over the years
If you like spending you money on a snorkeling excursion that is equal to but no better than plenty of other places off the coast of Maui, then go for it. The point of the video is that there are a ton of free locations to snorkel at that are just as good if not better. Appreciate your attempt at a rude comment.

Guess you haven’t been there, you get great encounters plenty of shallow water. A must visit place on Maui.

Yeah whole point is that there are equal or better places to see for free from shore.
It was well worth it, the tide was a little rough, but even then it was still very cool
