One interesting detail is that when they did the segments that were supposed to be from America, they processed the video to make it look weird. Back in the days of analog television, foreign broadcasts would look "off" because of differences between PAL and NSTC video standards.
For me the joke about the fundraising was more about him manipulating the situation to upset her creating a scene, then reassure her that it was understandable if she was upset, then to sit back smugly at a job well done.
You should definitely watch SPACED... Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jessica Hynes. And its sister show BLACK BOOKS.. Dylan Moran (Shaun of the dead’ David the twat) and Bill Bailey (Hot Fuzz’ “Nobody tells me nothin”)
On one of the street interviews he asked the guy if he thought that "the letter of the law" should be enforced (a phrase meaning that we should enforce the law rather than turning a blind eye to some things). When the guy agreed, he asked which letter it was (the guy apparently replied with J).
Peter O'Hanraha-hanrahan's bits are what you need, trust me.
I second that :)
YOU'VE LOST THE NEWS!
Thanks Peter, you've added nothing.
Love him!
He did do Peters best bits on this channel maybe a year ago or so
Trenta Percenta!

Destroying the jam festival lady made me laugh so hard as a kid and absolutely horrified my mother 😂
This current affairs satire is brilliant & includes the first TV appearance of Alan Partridge.
Nathan Barley is calling. Chris Morris wrote and directed it. It’s an absolute piece of art and worthy of your reaction
Classic. I still use 10:33 as a goodbye on the regular 😂
Pompous news broadcasters never recovered from this.
This was the end of the news.
GOODNIGHT.
Mantis you've added nothing.
The amount of people who believed this was a real news show when it first aired is unreal - it just makes it funnier, haha!
"Fill up nose and put my specs there roars drunken Major". Just do a 3 minute search of John Major and it's obvious why this is hilarious.

I think he has.
He already has
Ah, if it isn't my favorite comedy program ever made! I'd make good with my legs over open ground to see a reaction to The Day Today.
and so I don't forget, make sure you catch the sister series, Brass Eye!

One of my favourite lines « No relation to the late Denholm ».
there was also the friday and saturday night armistice
"This must be very difficult for you"
😏
This was a brilliant series..get 'Brass Eye' next..that's another Chris Morris show.
Enjoy this. Great show.
I think the Elvis "medley" was to get round copyright - they could probably use the song titles, but not the actual music - not without $$$.
3:04 Steve Coogan
This kind of nonsense talking is commonly known in the UK as "Talking complete bollocks".
Bloody hilarious.
Awww do you still have your Welsh flag?
Love the new set up ..
