I feel like the knife was the secret hero of that video. 😉
That "32" puzzle is an odd one because I think that geometrically it can't exist. Notice that it has 2 types of corners: Those with parts of 3 pentagons, and those with parts of 2 pentagons plus one octagon. That means those are not the same shape, so it shouldn't be possible to move a piece of one type into the position of the other. It only works because they're similar enough. But that's only if we're talking about their geometric properties. From a group theoretic perspective that doesn't matter, and that's the perspective I prefer. It's just interesting to know. So if the puzzle seems to start locking up the more you scramble it, that's probably why.

I managed not to cut my finger this time, though... :-) Also, good to know I have an excuse for why I found it so hard to get the puzzle back to its solved state after just doing two moves to it...

So I've gotta ask...the bottom 2 at the end of the video-are they not basically the same? It looks to me like the pentagons on the right are cutting into the corresponding large circles on the left. Just my take, arm chair quarterbacking here...
That said-his collection is amazing! I can't even imagine trying to pick a few, or how much money I'd be tempted to spend there...
