@@matejgrim the improvement following the Diansheng was already incredibly fast, I can't even imagine what it would be like if FTO got added
DaYan has been on a roll with great cubes and I'm really excited to try this one next!

@@RubiksRonaldo this is shaping up to be a game changer. Hopefully the size isn't so large for some solvers that they have to stick to the Diansheng
@@EddtheRexMan honestly considering I'm still able to solve on my RexTO without really struggling, I think I'll be fine tbh, but it's definitely something I'm very curious about
@@RubiksRonaldo the RexTO was great for most people, so I'd be happy to have a DaYan around that size
The current DaYan size is pushing it just a tad imo
@@EddtheRexMan maybe so, but I guess we shouldn't have had super high expectations since this was the first ball-core attempt on an FTO so I assume they wanted to make sure it'd work first? Maybe we'll see a Dayan FTO mini in the future?
@@RubiksRonaldo that will be a large part of my feedback in the review, I expect. I do wonder if the size is partly down to sourcing washers, magnetic rings and screws that would be too large if the puzzle was smaller 🤔

To be fair. Dyan has always had a nac for making the first truly good of puzzle types. Megaminx, guhong, 2x2. Etc
Absolutely, and I think this is no exception! DaYan have really tried to set the bar nice and high for FTO hardware. There are still plenty of improvements to be made but this is an amazing FTO debut!
Just pre-ordered two of them!

Really looking forward to getting mine, I ordered it a couple days ago and it will get here probably next week. I have the lanlan, the Rexto, and the danshang, I've heard this thing basically is the gan of FTOs. I do wish it was a bit smaller like the DanShang but theres nothing you can do about that I guess. Maybe finally the WCA will make this an official event.
@@draakisback I do agree that I would prefer the DaYan to be smaller, the Diansheng's size actually makes my hands cramp, so I think I would like a version of this FTO about 1-2mm larger than the Diansheng
@@EddtheRexMansmaller sizes are usually good for long periods of solving, but if the puzzle is light enough it shouldn't matter too much. Still it is nice to have something that is easy to put into a pocket. I'm sure some other company will make yet another FTO soon enough especially if the WCA picks up the puzzle as an event. Perhaps dayan will even release a V2 in a couple years if the puzzleas sell well.

Question: is it easy to remove the coloured caps from the pieces ?
@@higgledypiggledycubledy8899 I removed a triangle cap yesterday and that was pretty easy.
They're all friction fittings I think, so I don't expect them to be too hard to remove, but I haven't checked the other pieces yet
How does it feel compared to the DaYan Pro megas or GuHong Pro if you have or tried them?

I’ve been trying to break the sub 30 barrier on fto. Have you got any tips or suggestions?

@@CubingChaos-Liv444 don't underestimate the value of untimed solves and unlimited inspection. The former has been especially helpful for me because I can take the time to find more efficient solutions.

What 3x3 would you say this is most comparable to?
@@ColorBlock11 Zhihai (larch_cuber on Instagram) made the following comparisons:
1. LanLan is like an old Rubik's brand
2. QiYi's upcoming FTO is like a Qimeng V3
3. Diansheng is like a Mr. M
4. DaYan is like a Gan 11 M Pro
Now I don't have many 3x3s to compare this to, but I would say it feels significantly better than any FTO I've tried before, and I haven't even set it up yet
Could you pull a corner to test popping?
@@inseminggd9435 can do, in a few hours. I will say that I tried to pull an edge out and it was really hard, so I'm optimistic about the anti-pop measures in this FTO!

Im also pretty optimistic about it cause from what you said it was really loose (way over the possible range for the diansheng) and you still didnt get a pop, so that system has to be pretty good

@@sterben4958 real 😅 although the Diansheng is perfectly usable, and it might even be a better option for people with small hands
