the track limits for most gt's/cup cars are actualy defined by the the outer white line or the kerb, not the innermost white line like f1, so its completely legal
@@douglasberg2881to add to that a lot of Sportscar (closed cockpit) racing will let the walls or the gravel do the speaking for track limits. Obviously it doesn't work on all tracks, but it's more exciting when they can push it to the limit and there's an immediate penalty for overdoing it
Great video, I was just across the track from you! In third stand down, the one after the two covered ones. It was an amazing experience, the atmosphere when Sainz put a Ferrari on pole was unbelievable and unforgettable
You'd know if you'd raced there in a sim with a GT car with crap brakes. My hate for the Ascari chicane is immeasurable. Better off restoring it to the old Ascari corner.
@@masterkamen371 I have raced on it. My comment was in reference to how the corners are much tighter in real life when you're standing at then, rather than driving around them. Just like the thousands of laps I've done around Brands Hatch on the sims still failed to prepare me for how steep Paddock Hill bend is when I got there and drove it for real.
@@qwerty69600Sims and video games definitely struggle to portray the grade of a hill. And obviously it'll also feel different being in a real car there vs just standing on the track
Back in the days 2003 two comments that make sad. 1) years ago the smaller cars were more aggressive into the first left turn, cutting more the line. 2gear immediately 3rd little bit or gas release, then full gass allo over the ascari right and left. 2) Vegetation, where are the trees? The left side of ascari was almost covered by trees, but is like that desertification happen at Parco di Monza...😢
In 2023 lots of trees have been cut down by a storm. In fact, if you'll watch my other video made in 2022, you'll notice a lot more trees. About your first point, of course smaller cars look more aggressive, but these ones can still do ascari flat out after the first left (plus, I don't think an F1 car has ever done Ascari Turn in 2nd gear, not even in formation lap).

Ciao marco, dipende dal giorno: il venerdì puoi anche andare là mezz'ora prima delle pl1/pl2 che qualcosa vedi, il sabato almeno verso le 11, la domenica il prima possibile (vuol dire mettersi in coda prima che aprano i cancelli e correre). Disclaimer: sono stato ad imola solo nel 2022 e potrei aver esagerato sia in positivo che in negativo ma in generale ho trovato un ambiente molto più tranquillo rispetto a monza in quanto a orari (il sabato la tribunetta da dove ho fatto questo video si è riempita in 15 minuti dall'apertura dei cancelli), ma non è detto che sia così anche quest'anno.
