- At this point, I've done a Discord song on almost every album. Spirit of Chaos, Monster, Shadows, Crash, The Surface, and now this for the latest album. This song is an Ashes-type origin story, and a dark look into a fictional Discord that became cold and evil due to rejection (the same premise as "Monster").

@@CavalryofWinter It has its moments. Discord spending at least- but likely more than- thousand years in stone, conscious and aware but unable to interact with anybody or anything. Celestia having to banish her sister to the moon for exactly a thousand years, ruling as an immortal... Essentially God to her subjects for so long and watching them demonize her sister. Sending a child to a prison in hell because she was too manipulative and intelligent to be safely reformed. One of the main characters catching a disease that nearly turned her into a tree that spreads said disease.
Probably more I'm forgetting, and definitely more I'm excluding for brevity. And all this is completely excluding the comics, partly because it's been ages since I read them, and partly because they don't try to hide it as much as the show if I recall.

And the marks themselves are dark when you consider the possibilities. Rainbows and apples are fine enough, but grave diggers, executioners, criminals, less than savory doctors. These could all be nightmarish images that isolate the pony, making problems worse.

This is one of the greatest songs on RUclips that I know of. This is especially true among MLP Songs.
I love how there is no direct reference to MLP, though. This could be used for many things beyond that.
That's true of most of Aviators songs
It definitely just makes me think of a villain, or a main character who has been pushed to the very brink and only lives for revenge. This song exemplifies that almost perfectly.
Despite the fact that I know next to nothing about MLP, this is still one of my overall favourites amongst all of the songs you've made, with a large part of why being the absolutely amazing electric guitar in the background. It just conveys the ramp-up in hate and intensity so goddamn well.
It's been one year. This is the song that brought me into the MLP fandom, so I'm pretty darn grateful. Keep making awesome music, Aviators!
This is a nice song, it has some good Phantom of the Opera, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Frankenstein elements to it. Interesting how in a lot of the fanon Discord didn't seem to recognize what a monster he was through what he's done, but here he's fully aware, and just doesn't care
Every time. Everytime you release an album I'm like "okay I know at least one of them is a brony one but which one ?"
And every time you post it on YT I'm like "WOOT". You're really good at hiding what you're basing you're songs on, that's awesome. I mean someone who doesn't watch MLP shouldn't be bothered, because it's not everywhere in the song ^^
This one is my favourite of the album, but it was hard to pick ,all of the album is amazing ^^

That is most probably one of the most perfect music piece I've heard in weeks! The harmonious chords, the epic and danger-feeling brass, the discordant notes here and there, and the chorus in the background, it breathes danger and tragedy and regret and vengeance, suits the theme so well, I'm impressed, your music nd theme are married like... You say this is in the same premise as monster, but the tone could not be more different. Monster always has come across to me as victimized and questioning. This seems more like the follow-up anger that comes from being victimized.

Have you considered a Discord-specific series based around this story? We need at least one more song that follows the Monster-Chaos Theory arc. These two just work so well together a third song just seems right
+Dylan Wight Actually there is a finale to this arc! It actually came before Chaos Theory, and with two possible outcomes. The arc begins with Monster, continues into Chaos Theory with anger and vengeance, then resolves in one of two ways: The suppression of anger and the will to denounce evil in "Crash", and then alternately the acceptance of murder and villainy in "The Surface". One could also say "Shadows" and "Spirit of Chaos" fit somewhere into this narrative as well.
Had to listen to those two again. I can certainly see how they fit as a finale.
I'm not quite sure how "Shadows" and "Spirit of Chaos" would be part of that arc; they don't seem to have too much in relation to the other four...
Whatever the case, either resolution works well enough. It's rare to see composers who write a story with their music. The only other people I can think of are YourEnigma and, surprisingly, Tim Burton with his Franken + Corpse Bride + Nightmare Before Christmas saga.

darkness is what you get when light is absent.... it has no eyes to "see" you in pain lol.... maybe the light is blinding, as darkness is with you when you are in pain, and LIGHT IS NOT.... you seem to hate the things that remain with you as you suffer, as demons are with you when you are alone, yet you hate demons as well.... Stop hating the things that obviously care about you enough to be near when you are in pain. Else nothing will be your only friend due to your hatred towards all that stood by you before. Such as demons, and that evil darkness, the very darkness that is present prior to the creation of LIGHT.... as the bible says in the first paragraph - and god created light = well darkness is that creator, and you hate darkness, maybe you should be in pain - maybe ill laugh about it as the world laughed at the fool so many times as he is only the one that created them all. But i know that fool wouldn't laugh, he'd torture your tormentors most likely, but hes just the devil - trying to trick you or something right....

I was thinking of a queens loyal knight betrayed by her, tortured and locked away. after escaping he started to kill nobles and framing her for it turning everbody against her and eachother in order to "put the chaos theory to the test"... If i wouldnt be so f*cking lazy i would have totally made an animation about that! grrr i hate myself! xD

only a small portion is left from the large amount that was there (thankfully Aviators being one of them). Normally i could just go and search a random mlp community artist and get and epic song of sort typically pertaining to the mlp concept either made or fan made. now most of them want to be taken seriously which i do understand but dont produce music for this "group" say to speak

I know nothing about the show, I know nothing about the character of 'Discord', and after hearing this song I think I wish to keep it that way... This song paints a picture of a very interesting, very dark character, and I fear the show would not do any justice to this darker character.
The show isn't as dark as this song, Discord himself isn't that dark.
At first i thought this was a remix of Carbon Maestros song, the titles are just the same thats all, this is my kinda music right here.
