Thanks for the education Anthony and those Old Brass Bins...LOVE THEM !! also love the old looking store, a thing of the past !! I wish they were more out there. The Polcari Family have always been a big part of the North End and great entrepreneurs !! I remember 50 years ago when I was 5 years old. I was waiting in line inside Pizza Regina's and I leaned on the bar and Old Man Polcari gave me the craziest look and said get your Fucking elbows off my bar!! Scared the shit out of me!! I thought I might not get my Pizza but the waitress, I think her name was margret told me don't pay him any attention to him he's just being a crab today! She was a sweetheart and ended up working there for like over 60 years !! Thank you to the Polcari Family and all the other Families that made the North End a Great place!! P.S. The Slush Barrel was painted green because it was just like a cash printing machine ! The slush was real slush, not like the slush you find today, you would always get a few lemon seeds in your slush so you know they didn't use fake crap...so, so good!
I remember this place, loved the coffee loved the smell. My nonnie lived on 6 Margaret st.all 3 floors with aunts and uncles,Remember going to bovas for bread, modern pastry, boy do i remember this ,bring me back to my youth.The Angelos,they were always nice to my family. SAVINO was the family name.

I never knew cinnamon was from the bark of a tree! This remind me of my Italian grandmother drinking coffee and playing Pokeno till 8 p.m. with me when I was a kid lol
Hi Anthony, my name is Jennifer. i know this is crazy and might be a long shot but i'm planning on coming to Boston hopefully this summer/fall from Michigan and was wondering if and when i did, maybe, possibly you could show me around? I don't want to take a lot of your time, I just want to see a few places in person that you would recommend, just so i could be with someone who knows the area like you do and so I'm not walking around like a lost tourist on the streets lol. I am completely amazed by your show, you have and share so much information and history, it's awesome!!!. For years I've been interested in the Boston area, I was just playing on You Tube last night and came across your videos. I'm so glad i did. There is a couple buildings in the North End that I've found on the internet and kept pictures of for many years not knowing they were in Little Italy, they are in the shape of a V, don't know if the buildings are hotels or apartments, but i am obsessed with them lol. Since i was like 14, I'm 43 now, I've been hooked on Boston and its history. Like a feeling of i have to see it in person, i always plan to visit but things always come up, and i haven't been able to ever get that way. If you're not able to, its ok, i just wanted to ask you. Thank you so much for these videos, keep posting so i myself can learn more about the North End. Amazing videos again !!! Jen.
