I actually think that the pay is awesome!! Also , if you consider how many days you have off in a month, because people that work regular five day week (40 hrs), only get 10 days off in a month total. Not to mention all the other benefits and flexibility you have as a FA! You’re so lucky to have this job. Best of luck to you ☺️🙏
Thank you so much. I’m interested in working in SEA as well so this helps me understand what to expect. Thank you for sharing your experience and explaining it so clearly.
Thank you! Typically SEA to JFK-IAD-ATL-FLL and others on the east coast are pretty good for credits due to their geographical location from SEA. Also, I’m almost off probation so more to come from layovers!😉
Reallt thorough breakdown and i appreciate your transparency. Currently in the hiring process and you have explained everything so well. I think you should definitely go into scheduling because you seem to have a knack for it lol . When you just started , like fresh out of training what was your pay range? Was it between $1500-3000k a month or was it significantly lower ? I’m nervous about the beginning pay.
You’re welcome! The first month after training is a bit tricky because it might include training pay depending on when you graduate. But personally I did not pick up any additional trips, got used on my reserve days sufficiently and included training pay, earned over $2000. 2nd month made over $4000(no extra trips picked)
@allyshea: Every airline is different when it comes to the pay. Princella is damn lucky to have landed a flight attendant job at a top notch airline .....most people don't get hired to Delta in their first go around!! So you have to do your due research about the pay scale for the airlines that you are applying to. Generally airlines jobs, especially flight attendant jobs are tricky and you can easily get furloughed if the economy goes south or if a certain aircraft gets grounded like presently the 737 MAX is grounded . Generally you will not be making good money till at least your first five years !! You may have to commute to get to work which is another hassle and an expense!! Be very careful before you give up you good paying job (if you have one) to become a flight attendant .....it is a very tricky situation!!
Thank you & thanks for this information. I have applied to an airline my next step is the "On-demand Video" do you have any pointers for this step?😁@@mynextlocation
Hopefully in time I’ll understand how the pay works right now it’s still confusing for me. Can’t wait to work, my training is in January 8th for a regional airline! Any tips about training? Any advice
Congratulations 🎉 and all the best at training! You’ll definitely figure it out with time. I do, here’s a playlist with all the videos on flight attendant training 👉 ruclips.net/p/PLDhKHQTEgPLaYjyuocaQikcBfyx1o2mUV
@nina: You are right it is confusing and the airlines want it that way!! They want to confuse you because the pay is chicken feed!! especially in the regional airlines. You really need to have a rich boy friend to make ends meet especially if you are going to be commuting to go to work ,which I would discourage vehemently!! My advice to you would be to get yourself trained in a technical field and you will get paid bouquet $$$$$ . Airline jobs (except captains) don't pay well and as a flight attendant you are nothing but a number and can very easily be replaced!! The only requirement to become a flight attendant is a GED diploma!! Airlines know that there are thousands of pretty boys and girls of all colors that desperately want this job and therefore they have NO incentive to give any extras ( more pay) to the flight attendants!!
I deal with paystub on my job daily main doc but flight attendant salary is very low. since paystub is complex and fluctuate a lot from 1 pay to another different we always ask for letter of employment 😮 pay isnt good at all i have seen for all compagnies now up to pilot😮
Tax deductions differ from state to state and if you don’t live at base you get charged in both states(your primary resident and where you work). But all things being equal I expect about 15-20% of pay to go towards taxes and deductions.
@shariwatson: Certain states have very high state income taxes ie New York, Illinois and California, MN, MA. Try not to be based out of there. Also, make sure you have some money going into the 401k plan of your company!! Airlines don't have retirement pensions....you have to prepare yourself for that through a 401K. That would mean an additional amount of $$ being taken out of your pay check!!
My dream job is to become a flight attendant but I’m so confuse which airlines is better if it’s United, American airlines , Alaska, Frontier or Southwest because I live here in Texas unlike United there is no boarding pay . but I keep praying that I would become a flight attendant soon😢.
@Zaimean: If you want to be a flight attendant ,you cant afford to be too picky .....there are thousands of people who want this job !! You go for the one that hires you get yourself some experience and then you can switch to another airline!!
@@mynextlocation : Are you given discounts at your hotel cafes/restaurants, so that you can eat a hot meal? Are you fed enroute in your flight? If you fly international from Seattle, which I am sure Delta has many flights, what is the amount of lay over that you get in a hotel? Is it 36 hours ? 48 hours?
@@mynextlocation But generally do you guys get a long enough layover in for example London to see the ravens at the Tower of London?? In other words what is the minimum amount of layover if you fly international?
It’s not so much so dependent on the hours but where you’re flying to. For example JFK to London(about 6hrs) but will get crew rest whereas SEA to Fort Lauderdale or JFK to SEA(about 6hrs) will not have crew rest.

During my time I had SEA, NYC, BOS, MSP, SLC & DTW to choose from😊

What is your thing has annoyed you as a flight attendant so far
For now it’s the delays lol
Edit: And not having microwaves in the rooms of every hotel 😂. That has become a pet peeve at this point.

ITS A ANNUALLY OR MONTHLY BASIS!!
That was what I earned that month.
Just came across your videos. I have a question: is the payment weekly/ monthly…?
Depends on the airline but mine does biweekly
Post your paycheck.
So when you fly 20 hours 10 one way and 10 on the return do you get any breaks during the flight?
It’s not so much so dependent on the hours but where you’re flying to. For example JFK to London(about 6hrs) but will get crew rest whereas SEA to Fort Lauderdale or JFK to SEA(about 6hrs) will not have crew rest.
So international flights you get a crew rest?
Not all
Do you know anything about tuition reimbursement?
Not that I’m aware of but definitely check the career site. If it’s a benefit they offer it’ll be indicated!
How many years have you been working as a delta FA?
I’ve been a flight attendant for 1year now
Do you know when y’all will open applications again? I tried to apply it said it was closed 🥺
This cycle did close pretty quickly but I haven’t heard any communication of when it will open again
Any suggestions on how to put my skills
It’s still open , the last time I checked this week
Is that net pay?
Gross pay
No they don’t make much. 😢
At my airline?
