Nice video Joey, but I wonder how long it will take you to show the Saltwater aquarium build if you think plants grow slow, wait until you keep corals, then you will really know what slow growth looks like LOL. Keep it up!

Ok, this may be a stupid question that you answered long ago but I have to ask. What is your background? You've demonstrated so many skills it makes me dizzy. How did you learn all this? Your tank builds are amazing.
Peter Nikolauson What his job is, I think you meant. You have to have a decent flow of money coming in to build a tank like this.
he writes computer code if I recall correctly. As far as where he picked up the mad skillz to do what he does.. that's a good question! I can say I really appreciate that he takes the time to put quality vids out to educate the rest of us on how we can also have awesome tanks on a budget.
Trial and error. Practice. etc.. There is no school for DIY aquarium stuff... so i started my own. This is it, my channel.

I just got back into the aquarium hobby and started a simple planted tank. I'm hooked and am setting up a larger tank. Thanks Joey for all the DIY projects, I'm employing them on some of the setups. You do a great job. Keep up the good work. Excited about this series!

Oh my word. After sooo long I have just watched you build another acrylic tank!! During all these acrylic builds, i've been wondering what happens with the cement that overflows into the inside of the tank..? Wont it melt the acrylic and create blotching?
Do you buy the acrylic at home depot or online? and how do you cut it?

Sahil Dwivedi he did have a fully aquatic turtle at one point, and stingrays those are pretty exotic.

I'm interested in intensively culturing some vampire crabs and other crabs in the future. If you were to do this, how would you go about it? One big challenge is the crab's tendency to eat one another while moulting, so you'd likely have to separate the young into smaller groups and individuals as the crablets grew. I'm mainly interested in hearing about how you'd design the aquarium/rearing system to accomplish this - I've heard from other people, but you being the King of DIY I thought I'd ask you :)
Hey Joey you never disappoint... this tank is absolutely beautiful.However I would like to know could you round the edges on a big one like the 375 ?Or would this compromise the integrity of the corner having less material close to the joint.

I'd love to do this for an indoor pond, maybe using acrylic that is 8" high, 3/4" thick, and 72" long on all sides. I've always loved clear displays at public aquariums and think it's possible to replicate one at a smaller scale.

It was as thin as water.
Is the tank than watertproof or I have to glue with something else?

SDD525i currently have a 10gal experiment tank with a fluorescent light which works great. But I always appreciate more information especially on lighting since it's not a topic which is covered properly on RUclips. Joey on the other hand does well in explaining stuff so when I'm ready I know I have gained knowledge to have a successful tank.
SDD525....yea same those LEDs are costly but my only concern with florescent is that after like a couple months your have to change the bulbs.
correct me if im missunderstanding yall, but couldnt you do a uvb light fixture for reptiles? i have one on my chameleons cage it even with the dome around it it works for the plants in my tutles tank which sits about 6 inches away from it. plus bulbs are cheap, and last decent time, mine is going on 4 or 5 months, also zoomed makes some decent looking fixtures

Cool! Thanks for this. I am an art filmmaker and I am building an aquarium that is around 2 meters long on the height, where a person will enter the aquarium with water. Do you think this construction will hold for that?

Wow, thanks for the share!.. great looking finished product, and it looks like you showed us enough tricks to reproduce it fairly well.. With the cost of the router, this might cost just a bit more than buying a pre-fab, but the future potential is impressive once I get a bit of practice and confidence.

Where do you order you're fish from? I'm also in Canada (West Coast) and can't find anywhere to order fish from.
Flynn's Fish Forum Spencer Jacks in Winnipeg is really good, Shrimp Fever (mainly shrimp), there is a discus farm in Alberta somewhere I know you can order from, and I'm sure there are a few others.

Joey, I'm a perfectionist. My hobby is wood working. So building this is not too difficult. My question is, what do you do about the gunk squeezed out in the corners on the inside of the tank? Do you leave it? Thanks!!!!

use a wet finger and smooth it over before it dries

No, dont do that. Never touch it until cured.
I leave it until cured. It cures clear. The stuff on the outside, i route or sand off. The stuff on the inside I leave. Although you can scrape that off if you like.

Off the subject of your video but what's the benefit of a spray bar rather than stock output nozzle. I have a fluval Fx6 and I'm thinking about making a spray bar. 125 gallon freshwater. Thanx

Where do you buy your acrylic sheets from to make your tanks?
Everywhere I looked here (unfortunately closes city to me is Dallas 215 miles away) their price are outrages.
Interested in building a tank 24x20x42 inches or around that size.

I know this is old but I’m researching to rebuild a 125 gallon glass aquarium with injection method. I’ve searched your library and can’t find anything. Would you do a video on glass aquarium builds with silicone injection method or link if there’s a video?

you can also use a nail and put a dimple in the edge of the material then when you use weldon 4 or 3 it melts the dimple and no pins need to be removed

How is it obvious that they are not poor homeless people? It's easy to find access online in a 1st world country even if they are homeless. There are many places that offer free wifi connection! Although, I don't see why anyone would want a fish tank if they are homeless, except for bathing in or washing clothes in maybe.

How did you cut the acrylic? Every time I have ever tried it the acrylic just cracks. Also where did you purchase the acrylic sheets?

SDD525 but if you look closely towards the end, you can see something on the inside of the join.

Ambrosius13 depends on the size of tank you want and if you're gonna brace it or not. but you can order it online or at professional hardware stores. you'll wanna get a sheet or two of 1/2 or 3/4 inch acrylic. the stuff is kind of pricey but goes a long way.

What video do you show building those wooden things for the corner?
I notice that you had a bit of the softened acrylic squeeze out on the inside seam of the tank as well as being on the outside seam. you were able to clean up the seams on the outside with the router, but is there anything to be done for the inside seams? or is it not that noticeable?
It cures clear. I just leave it. Only a very little squeezes out, which ends up shrinking in size when cured anyways. You cant see it once done. Although you could always scrap it off if you wanted to.
