As someone who read the trilogy, I can say that we know nothing and wander in the dark, same as you, while watching Silo. The books were changed for TV adaptation, thanks to the author who also produced the TV show. A lot of things we see on screen never happened or were changed from the source material. Honestly, I like the TV adaptation more :)
Well, I wouldn't say "we know nothing" - we do know whole base of the story and ending. They changed and add lot of things in TV series but just a minor ones to change the pace. By the look of it I guess judge Meadows (who's not in the book) will cover (maybe with sheriff) part of book's Leon story, who's role was minimized in TV series. But yeah, even those who reed the Wool find the show interesting because of the changes.
not just that folks, TV shows are entirely diff thing and ruled by diff set of laws. They must add the hidden stuff, which only ones deep into the occult can recognize!
@@Dark_Angel555 Correct. There's no judicial, and Sims is just one of Bernard's security guards and mentioned very briefly. Also artifacts are not that big deal in the book and Walker is a guy. Just to mention few differences.
Here is something I dont understand. Why send everyone that has curiosity about outside, to clean - one way trip that they can not come back? Why not send scientific mission that will go out, measure the toxicity of air ( that seem to be deadly ) and come back to ensure everyone its not safe to leave ? The whole one way "Send out to clean" , only made sense in first season where we thought outside is actually completely safe and they are keeping people in Silo as virtual prisoners to a lie. But now we know the world is actually toxic, what would be point of people wanting to go out if they would know it beyond a doubt ?
Bernard knows that the outside is deadly and will be deadly for decades to come, there is no point in measuring the toxicity of the air with a scientific mission. They used the bad tape to keep the citizens calm, since no one would want to go outside when those people died infront of their eyes. Now, since Juliette made it over the hill, the citizens thought it would be safer to go outside but thats only because the IT-Tape sealed her wrists more effectively. Bernard sold this story to the silo as an achievement to avoid a rebellion, he gave them hope. But he knows that this only a teporary fix until the people get to know the truth about the tape and Juliette.
Why do they clean the censor to begin with , they can always see that there's no lush environment and tree outside, no amount of dirt on a censor could hide that environment lol it's dumb

I have a similar theory that you did. Meadows did have a unauthorized child, but the father wasnt Bernard. Bernard found out and took it away from her. That's why Meadows resigned as his Shadow as well as the cause of her drinking. and its why Bernard lets her get away with having contraband. Its not love just guilt.
I think the secret Meadows has, has to do with her wanting to go out. She has all the perks in the Silo, relics, etc. and she still wants to go out? What if she saw something in the server room that makes her want out?maybe communication with that other Silo
