Jólakötturinn, The Yule Cat Who Eats Children

Since Mel is Still on the IR list until tomorrow I spent my day micro-dosing mushrooms and making cocktails. The idea behind this was I wanted to do something "Old World". Something based in a pagan Christmas. I started with a Norse drum track and just started playing (and recording) a bass track to it with one take. Next, I picked up my trust Gibson SG that I keep tuned to open D and used it to react to the drums and bass line. No plan, just playing along to what I had already recorded. Then, I made another cocktail. After drinking that 7th cocktail I picked up my favorite guitar (my red Les Paul) and just let it sing along to everything I had already done stream-of-consciousness style. So here it is, a pagan Christmas. I hope it takes you back to your genic memory of sitting around a campfire dancing and singing celebrating the solstice.

Haven't done psycilocibin in 50 years but after listening to this colossal jam I am, at the very least, compelled to look up the backstory of The Yule Cat. My cat is the celestial hunter, Orion. He spent yule in the county animal prison. I ransomed his furry stub tailed self out a few weeks ago. We get along ok, I guess.
