so I realized earlier today this RI's whole "poor" thing probably puts itself in a unknown situation. @@dragnarok4286 RI actually trades with A LOT of countries, we are talking, 100% of north America, ~90% of Europe about ~20% of africa, ~80% of south america, ~70% of the bahamas (our biggest importer is actually the dominican republic), ~3% of asia, probably 100% of oceania (that isn't too far of a stretch). then both of our big schools can rack in a bit I believe being med school and art school with that they are both some of the highest in the USA and world (RISDA is on most lists eithier the best or second best in the world). then big tourism industry (yes this is a thing that no one would expect), large industry (ship building being a lot of our wealth), then crime probably is a industry we dip our toes in time to time.
TLDR we do a lot of things but on purpose stay poor for the refugees.

If you come to Europe you will see what good public transport is and how great it is. In Scotland, even my small village has pretty good bus service to the nearest big towns and our cities are very well served, especially Glasgow which has light rail, underground rail and an extensive bus network.

"What it takes to move 1000 people" is nonsense. Its just theoretical max capacity (except for cars, where they didn't use max capacity). When I took a bus to work for a year, it seems it took that 1 bus to move 4 people to direction where I was going.
You are correct for pointing out the different standards, but this comparison probably refers to situations of high traffic density, in which busses can be expected to be nearly fully utilized, while cars remain at low utilization. It's important to point out the different standards though, e.g. when people argue that self-driving cars won't fix traffic, because they are unaware of the different levels of utilization.

Difference is that trains and buses can be used to full capacity easily if people are willing to use them. But I bet most car drivers don't want to let in 3 random strangers in their car.

I mean, idk what's going on in the USA. But when I take the bus it's often full. And at some hours it's often over the limit(60 ish people) where all seats are taken and there isn't anymore place to stand.
