Loved this song since I first heard it. The guy in the video is actor David Boreanez of TV shows "Bones", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and "Angel", a spin-off of "Buffy".
My favorite song of Dido is "My Lover's Gone". It's very hauting and her voice is both on point and at her peak. You csn't be indifferent unless you have no heart.
I was so ready to not agree when you compared her to someone else.... Then I heard who you compared her to and totally agreed. I totally know what you mean that they have a similar vibe. Very nice video! First time viewer. Will be watching again. Really enjoy your takes. If you enjoy music with stories you should react to the song highwomen by the highwomen. Amazing song and an amazing mix of powerful and talent women.
It's been a month since you reacted to Joe Jackson, so sorry for the late comment, and on different reaction, but as a fellow music lover and sometime musician, I feel the need to give you the skinny on Joe, because it's clear that those whose commented knew nearly as little about him as you did. And that's a shame because he has been one of the most versatile songwriters and composers of the past 40 years. He began as a sort of New Wave artist with a tinge of extra heat, his first two albums Look Sharp and I'm the Man. He then produced an album. Jumpin' Jive, of 1940s jump jazz, sort of a smaller big band orchestra on steroids with songs made to make you jump, dance and laugh -- the lyrics are hysterical. From there he went to the urbane sophistication of Night and Day, which featured Steppin' Out, and had critics comparing his writing to some of the legends, including Cole Porter. Then, after a mesmerizing soundtrack album for a Hollywood film (Mike's Murder), he recorded Body and Soul, in which he fused jazz and pop in the best way, writing perhaps his best song, You Can't Get What You Want (Till You know What You Want). That song swings and pops and shows off his remarkable talents as a composer. That same album includes heart-wrenching ballads like Not Here Not Know, and Be My Number Two. Other greats that show off his versatility after You Can't Get What You Want (Till You know What You Want) and Not Here Not Now include: * Sunday Papers * Look Sharp * Cha Cha Loco (with a distinct Latin flavor) * Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Lady? * One More Time * Jumpin' With Symphony Sid
I love your honest and real reaction to this cool song.
