I would love it if you could start at the beginning for the podcast. What in your life inspired and prepared you to be this woman? I see you being so ambitious, brave, and a super motivated person. What achievement? Was it your parents and their style of upbringing? Was it easier because one or both parents had their own businesses?

I would like more insight into the actual cost of projects. I do a lot of remodel and renovation work and I think most people are completely in the dark about what things cost even if you do it yourself. Too many people think it must be so cost effective to just do it yourself but often not the case!
Yes!! The labor is often overlooked and it's a huge reason why renovations are expensive cuz materials it's not the only important factor!

I’d love for Drew to chat with you on your podcast. I was watching him build his hood the other day and when he said he’d watched Macenna build her hood my first thought was “oh he knows my friend Macenna” lol. Love you both.
They have a couple videos that they actually collaborated on, they’re kind of older but you should try to find them bc they’re so fun together!

You should definitely set up a voicemail system so people can call in and ask questions! So many podcasts are putting up voicemails now that I feel like that would be a nice way to end out each podcast episode! So excited to listen in. 🎉
I like the voicemail idea. Some people have live calls and some callers ramble or prank call or say inappropriate things. Voicemail questions would allow her to pre-screen a lot of that. Good idea!

I’d love to hear more about how your parents influenced and enabled your love of DIY & reno! The little stories about Magnolia House with your mom and hearing how versatile and handy your dad is are some of my favorite moments.
I would love to hear more about the lead-up to the renovation. What was your inspiration going into picking out a house? What was your skill level before, in your mind? How confidant did you feel before? Also I would love to see mom on the podcast as much as possible! Shes my fav duo with you. You guys are just so much fun together! She's for SURE your partner in crime.
This is great news!!! it would be very interesting to have at least one episode about budgeting, choice of materials, renting vs buying tools and the prioritisation of projects, and one on maintenance or restoration of antique pieces, furniture and DIYs. I look forward to the podcast!

Congratulations on this new venture in your already impressive repertoire! I would love to hear more about the finance portion of your renovation projects. I loved that at the beginning of the renovations you were so open about your spreadsheets and project cost breakdowns. Your transparency not only is a breath of fresh air but also helps someone like me who wants to buy a fixer upper as their first home but has no idea how much funds ill need to make that dream a reality. happy holidays xx

I’d love to know how you got your moxie to try a major reno, how it gave you the confidence to just go for it and learn new things, when you’re momentum kicked in along the way, if it’s translated into you wanting to learn new things in other areas, how your relationship fared and changed during the reno (if that’s okay to talk about) and if you felt defeated by something, how you got through it. Also any woodworking advice you picked up along the way or stuff about renos that no one tells you needs doing and in what order. You’ve done an amazing job with the house and I’m glad you went with your heart on the backsplash, it’s awesome. Happy holidays, everyone!

Every time I see MaCenna’s fireplace I’m so awestruck with how beautiful it is! It reminds me of a thought I’ve had lately. Even if you can’t afford to totally renovate your house (or part of your house is a construction site), you can still create little vignettes of beauty in your house in your style. I can’t afford new furniture or lots of decor at this stage in my life, but I love replicating little MaCenna inspired moments on my book shelves and entry table!

Soooo excited!!! We just bought our house 3 months ago and have began slowly renovating on where we can but one thing i would love to see is how much you budget/ spend on each room. I know everyone’s budget, etc is different but just seeing how much you’ve done / want to do and seeing a cost breakdown would be interesting!

Congrats!!! Want to know about your past life and experiences that led to such an incredible wealth of practical knowledge and skill. You are quite unique with all you have taken on. Most women will not take on all the extensive projects you take on. A very small percentage of your community will ever attempt to do what you do but we still love to watch. I wish I could do it but, in truth, I'm so far off the beaten path with skill and knowledge. Would be interested to know about the savings with you doing so much of the labor. Have a good trip!!!

What tips do you have for creating a moody space that isn’t too dark? Tips for decorating a small or narrow spaces, like your living rooms. Congratulations, you are an amazing young lady, adore your current channels and content. I'm disabled and to renovate my home I've needed a lot of support from friends but if I can then I will do it myself and watching your videos has helped break things down so that even in the bigger tasks where it's clear to me I couldn't be up a tall ladder, for exampl I can do is sit down strip, clean and treat a wooden trim!! Or complete small tasks that whoever helps me can then go up the ladder and install, which empowers me because I look around and see in each big job all the smaller tasks that have helped it come together were done by my two hands. Thank you for helping me see no matter what my physical limitations may be because of my health, that hasn't held me back in being part of my own renovation story. BTW I absolutely love the podcast name, not only is it cute but also showcases to everyone that you to can make something big or small, no matter your physical abilities by your hand (but like me with a little help when needed 😉)

I too renovated historic homes in 20's up until my 40's when I built so I am very interested in all things MaCenna as I am just a bit older than you but see so much of myself in you. Congratulations on the exciting news! I didn't guess a podcast but I'm so excited. I would love to see some kind of structure or common thread for each episode and all the best shows and podcasts have that. It could be something for each episode, like what was surprisingly easy, what needed more time, what needs to be fixed, what would you hire out next time, what was essential and what wasn't really needed or necessary in hind sight. Does that make sense? If there was 3 or 4 or even just a couple of those same questions for each episode I think it would be really great, helpful, informative and inspirational. XO Gabriella

- And also learning more about your eye for re-using/repurposing items in your projects and how to do that (like the guest bathroom vanity cabinet)
