My teacher was the only teacher that full on helped me with my Autism/Adhd by realizing that the traditional way of teaching didn't work, taking a step back, and finding a way for it to click in my brain. Turns out I "play by ear" as she said, and I learned best when hearing the piece a couple of times before being handed the music. Then when I got stuck, reading the music to find the correct note. I went from barely playing to playing at an intermediate level quickly. She also taught me when I am upset or having big emotions to use the piano as a outlet. Play loud or bombastic songs when angry, or quiet songs when sad to help express it in a non destructive way. She wasn't just my teacher, but during that period of my life she was a friend, a counselor, and someone that finally understood how I work. I miss her classes,
thats amazing , it is so lovely to here that as a music therapist assistant to my husband who is a music therapist, and we have been recently working on revamping the traditional ways of teaching piano music to kids, so that special needs children on the spectrum would be able to learn piano without restriction of a traditional syllabus. Your teacher has such a lovely heart, thank you for sharing your insight and your teacher's teaching method :) will take note of your sharing as tips for us :D
I play the keyboard and I don't take professional lessons or anything, it's more of just a hobby for me to do when I'm bored and since I also have ADHD, I listen like that. I do horseback riding mainly and have dealt with a trainer like that. A trainer who learns to adapt to the students and not expect the students to adapt to them. It is crazy what a difference of a trainer who cares and helps in ways aside from others can help the growth of students. Teachers/Coaches can be life changing and coaches like yours and mine are ones that make it all worthwhile. I'm not really sure why I'm telling you this, as it isn't very relevant but i just found it cool that our situations were alike.
@@avastapleton853 my dad paid for the lessons cause I was kid, but I’m very grateful to have learned piano with or without the theory! Just wish I learned a little more, but I’m teaching myself now haha
I am a music teacher, I sing, I conduct and I demonstrate. Sometimes all the words do not make sense to the student or me and sometimes these students need demonstration. Sometimes my students blow my mind when they follow my directions and it works! I ❤ my job!
The one I was waiting for is the “forces a music theory lesson at every possible moment” Ex: “ok but pause right there. What is that chord? What is that chord telling us?!? Incorporate the mood of Eb Lydian into this section and prepare for the resolution”
there should be a horror game where the piano teacher jumpscares you if you make too many mistakes, the first mistake youre fine, their eye flinches, but as you keep making more they keep twtiching, and the heartbeat sound effect in the background gets louder and faster and everything gets blurry until you die
My favorite teacher was the philosophical one, he was a sweet old man with a foreign accent, I miss him Then right after I had one conducting and singing, that I hated lol
Sht im the philosophical one. When i sing i have images in my head. So like some songs sound like what it looks like when leaves slowly fall down in autumn. Or when waves push ypu under water😂
I don't have any live lessons with a teacher yet... I would be the difficult student to deal with if I ever have a teacher... I most likely would try to teach the teacher back.
You missed my teacher. Unbothered, she was chatting on her phone all the time, couldn't care less. I was a kid and I hated going to piano lessons. Luckily I kept practicing by myself because I love music
Mine is a philosophical violin teacher and everytime someone plays the song for the test he says some "advice" to help them but we can just never understand what it means😭😭
My violin teacher was so much like the detailed oriented one that I only learned 1 beginner song over 8 months of weekly half-hour lessons. I quit the violin for good after that 😢
My teacher is all 4 And yet, i cannot argue that whatever he does Works Cuz now im teaching cello to others part time as a tutor so. If it works it works
You forgot the one that taps you on the top of the head the rhythm, the one that yells "Do you have it? If I don't hear it then you don't have it!" etc.
lol my first teacher was the 3rd conducting one , at least I could still continue playing. But the last teacher I had was the 1st one and I could hardly complete a phrase that was either too much or too little rofl 😂
I used to get so pissed at my violin teachers when they did that. Like, cool, are you gonna teach me how to be that good or just keep performing for me?
My teacher was all of these types in one person.😂
lmao same 😂
Same 🤣
Same here
I'm a piano teacher, and I'm guilty of being all four at once xD. That being said, my teacher was the same so... Only upholding the tradition!
All at once depends on the day
Pieces:
1. Debussy, Arabesque L. 66, no. 1
2. Chopin, etude op. 10, no. 3
3. Chopin, nocturne op. 9, no. 2
4. = 1.
wait...there is actually something called chopin...? i actually thought that it was something made up by the anime 'your lie in april'

Okay but she does know how to be like water though. That playing at the end was lovely

Classical guitarist teacher was totally a cross between 2 and 3, he was so wonderful!
Same, man
My teacher was the one who taught me NO music theory😭 did piano lessons for 8 years and only figured out what a key was after I stopped
dang, do you feel like you wasted your money on the lessons then or do you feel like it was worth it?
@@avastapleton853 my dad paid for the lessons cause I was kid, but I’m very grateful to have learned piano with or without the theory! Just wish I learned a little more, but I’m teaching myself now haha
I'm exactly the same.. then again, it was fun. also, I could not sight-read at all, I could only decipher the music, note by note.
This is so spot on and I was laughing so hard at this!!

im all of these 😂 ( except maybe nicer when demonstrating to students haha!)
My teacher is a mix of 3 and 4 but a really great pianist
The one I was waiting for is the “forces a music theory lesson at every possible moment”
Ex: “ok but pause right there. What is that chord? What is that chord telling us?!? Incorporate the mood of Eb Lydian into this section and prepare for the resolution”
My teacher is literally all of these

I had #1 and it made me quit their whole music school, then I went to a private studio where the teacher is a mix of 2 and 3, love it
the combination of second and fourth.
I love her piano lessons.
I'm a piano teacher and I definitely am all of them
I have definitely had 1, 3, and 4 not 2 yet lol
NUMBER 3 ❤️❤️❤️
IFYKYK….
my teacher is third, FOR SOME RESSON she starts to sing wilhe a play ( my teachear is my mother)
No. 1 is literally me to myself lol
My singing teacher is definitely number 2, but my piano teacher isn’t any of them - he just listens and then gives me feedback lol
He called me a failure and and taught me after dark and snow fall
I’m self taught 😭
idk about this, i never had a piano teacher, i taught myself
My teacher is ALL OF THEM, but my first teacher [my mum] is the last one 100% lol.
2 and 3 at the same time !! My favourite teacher by far and current ❤
You missed my teacher. Unbothered, she was chatting on her phone all the time, couldn't care less.
I was a kid and I hated going to piano lessons. Luckily I kept practicing by myself because I love music
So funny, only my teacher is missing who just does "mmmh" all the time and barely talks 😂 I need a part two
Your content is amazing ! You helped me improve a lot of skills in the piano Thank you so much ! ❤️

THIS IS FCKING HILLARIOUS, I HAVE THE PHILOSOPHICAL TEACHER N ITS THE SAMEEEE😭😭😭😭
My teacher has all of it in one person 😂
I always go from one to four whenever I try to teach my friends songs😂
😂
I like it, more more more less less, to be like water........and finally the teacher plays it by herself.
My mom is no.3 😭 (She plays by ear but also got taught in course) and shes my piano “teacher” i guess
Lol I passed 3 types and thought that this video doesn't have type of my teacher but then 4 type popped and that's so true😂
Mines so much like 3 😂
4. She had to remind you that she’s a very good teacher😉
My teacher was standing at the window smoking a cigarette, telling me wrong whenever because he knew everything from his head anyway.
I actually felt the emotion from the 4th teacher. I should pick up piano
I think i hit the jackpot, my teacher has a 4 in 1, because he's all of them
If only i got such wonderful teachers, i wouldn't have let my musical side get wasted. My parents are trained singers but never taught me shit
My teacher is all of these🤣 she singa and conducts in a choir too
You forgot the one that taps you on the top of the head the rhythm, the one that yells "Do you have it? If I don't hear it then you don't have it!" etc.
Yeah my teacher is quite literally all of these 😂
Mi teacher is number1 and number4😂😂❤.
I always told my teacher I didn’t play this song for 20+ years and can’t instantly make it sound like I played it for 20+ years
My first teacher is like the third one and my new teacher is like the fourth and second one
Guilty 🌚 I feel I am all as a teacher 🫠 well… sorry students 😅
You're missing the one that asks you why you can't do it right, tells you you are a failure, and slaps your hands when you make a mistake.
I think I’m all of these on different days… big believer in balance 🧘🏼♀️
She just making sure he doesn't want to play a single note in his life
My hair would fall out too, bro.
Definetly 4. Maybe I just sucked though
5th: the one that sits back and scrolls through tiktok and says "good" even if you just bang the keys
My teacher is 2, 3 and sometimes 4😂
3 and 4 is my teacher
Ngl I would love if my teacher played more during class
Lol i had my piano teacher do this with debussy arabesque also
#4 made me feel attacked😂
Mine was the philosophical one 😂😂
2 and 4 summarize my piano teacher perfectly
I HAD NUMBER 3 LMFAOO
thats basically a walkthrough in my piano class
my teacher is all of them combained and I HATE IT
this is why i'm self taught lol
I have all of them in one
Mine is all types at once!
Mine waits very patiently for me to finish, and then verbally gives me an essay on everything I did wrong
Am definitely number 4😂
MY TEACHER IS SO LIKE THE THIRD ONE
This is my violin teacher fr
My teacher is the first one.
i’ve had 3 piano teachers, being the first 3, and all of them were like number 4
I’ve absolutely had the last 3
I just can't stop watching it
My teacher at uni was 1. and 3. totally
Philosophical and a bit sing loudly and a bit detailed-oriented
my school piano teacher is all for of these help😂😂
HA haaaaaaaaaaa! That is SOOOO true!
Mine is most like three with a little of 1 and 2 mixed in
"All about Lily Chou Chou" flashback
such a beatiful girl
lol my first teacher was the 3rd conducting one , at least I could still continue playing. But the last teacher I had was the 1st one and I could hardly complete a phrase that was either too much or too little rofl 😂
5. The one with smaller hand than you and still play like a boss
??
I see myself in numbers 1 and 2 😂
I used to get so pissed at my violin teachers when they did that. Like, cool, are you gonna teach me how to be that good or just keep performing for me?
Not my teacher being all😂😂😂
He doesn't understand that less is more
Adorable teacher
HAHA THIS IS SO RELATABLE
