How many of us were pointing at the screen saying "IC3B is right there!"? ;)

Replacement attenuator assembly is headed out to you today. Stay cool. Going to get to 99 degree F here in Southern PA today.

I have a Wavetek model 3510 with a 70 MHz error that I have been circling for a couple of years now wondering where to start. Thank you for showing the way on these Wavetek products. From circuitry to how they are wired they are ABNORMAL I really enjoy your approach and knowledge combined with a calm rational approach to issues.

What an inspiration! You have shamed me into tackling the repair of my (not-so) trusty old Wavetech 3010. Its been parked on my bench for too long now.
Thanks for the excellent video on this repair.

Great job. I admire your persistence and approach. ( I have a 3000, too, that has been in my life since the 1970's. Long story. It's bulletproof and has let me fix sooooo many devices I can't even begin to list them. Had no idea what was in those cans, and I do have a manual, but never a need to troubleshoot the device. Attenuator assembly is also kinda flakey from a feel standpoint, but not function. It all works. ). These things are from the golden age of test equipment. My Tek 3024 MDO with a spectrum analyzer and a built in function generator have eliminated a need for a bunch of lab test equipment, but I do love the old days when there were so many pieces of analog gear out there. ). Good job and excellent series of videos.

Great series! Really enjoyed it. Analog stuff will always work. No firmware to screw up. 😉

That was better than any Netflix Series for me, more of that type of stuff please. Would even like to know more of the schematics now.

Oh no, you can't let this one go! At least thru hopefully the successful attenuator replacement...and those PLLs are calling your name! ;-) 73 - Dino KLØS

man you had a few dead capacitors and a half dead opamp so far in this unit. Continue fixing it till it's stable and usable.

It would be nice to see you figure out the unlock problem since I have three 3001 that are unlocked. I need one of them to work!!!! Thank you for the series.

I wonder if CuriousMarc - or especially Ken Shirriff - can wrap his head around this generator. I still love it how you Keri'd on with this project.

Since you had an opamp tester, is it possible to make a PLL tester ?!

So after 14 episodes the only thing wrong was that op amp ?

    • @IMSAIGuy
      @IMSAIGuy  Месяц назад +2

      It was the last thing.
      you forgot:
      both +-18v rails crowbared
a handful of capacitor tested dead, dozens of capacitors changed
      68ohm resistor fried and replaced
bad attenuator fixed and 40db bypassed

@@IMSAIGuyCan you tell what was the original opamp and what you replaced it with?
