    Doug, you could make a bunch of your projects and sell at a flea market. I know people would love your peacock picture, this new box, even that little metal shadow box you mad for Belle’s room. Along with many of your handmade projects.

  • @robstephens
    @robstephens 4 года назад +4

    For projects that require more strength in the joints, you can apply wood glue to half of the joint and hot glue to the other half. The hot glue will instantly bond it together, and when the wood glue dries, you will have a very strong joint.

    Interesting, the range of adhesive and glue products has increased greatly. Hot glue is very useful, and I have often used my wife's craft gun, but never though about looking for higher performance items. It does avoid the risk of wood splitting that other fasteners can cause and will allow smaller wood sections to be joined with ease as your project showed.

    Your creative mind has no boundaries. You have skills that are very marketable.
    For years I used to do creative DIY storage/organizational solutions for problem areas in people's homes, offices and garages that were gathering junk & becoming wasted spaces. Your "outside the box" creativity is a valuable commodity to people who need custom solutions to organize their spaces n a decorative way.
    I saved people money by upcycling, repurposing and using affordable options for custom build-outs so they could afford to pay me good 💰 to achieve their goal to live more organized and efficient.
    If you had of worked for me 15 years ago, I would have been charging clients $80-100 an hour for your labor.
    You should consider starting a business.

    Thats cool Doug! I took a crate I found at goodwill and It had black barely running through it and says made in chins ( of course) but I purchased it I think for 10:00 and it is rectangle. I ordered the pin legs like your furniture and screwed them in, and It opens at the top by hinges. I use it as a coffee table. I ordered the legs in black and the height I needed to perfectly be used, considering the height of the crate. I love it. I put the grandkids toys they use to play games and such in the front room. Mostly learning games. You may want to make one for the hideaway. I wish I had one for the side of couch for my yarn/ table for bible reading and crafts! Have a great week!

Either you use good old pencil and paper or u have a good ‘cad’ program. Plse before it gets destroyed sand and finish, your work is really good. Others would have made a 1/4 or even 3/4 ply thing that would have been horrible and heavy. You are talented at keeping things simple and worthwhile ,(that’s not the word I wanted to use but I can’t think of it right now). See ya.
