Seychelles people in general are very friendly and like to talk to everybody, no matter where they are from. Being a tourist in The Seychelles, I have to say the only rudeness I encountered were from other tourists who weren't nice to the locals. Those tourists should stay home if they're going to be rude.

Allow me to make it very clear...as a born and raised Seychellois I can confirm that our roots are mostly African mixed with French and British who were the first setleers on these islands...the Chinese got here before the indians through spice trade routes. We do have a large Indian community in commerce. But that's about it.
I have not been to Seychelles but I just believe that I will one day find myself there. I need a true friend from Seychelles.

You did their beaches no justice. Good Lord. The 3 days I spent there while my ship was in port was like heaven. Me and 2 friends rented a car and a villa on a beach. Met the best people I’ve ever met. They took us out to spear parrot fish. Showed us how to cook it over banana palm. Drank Sey Brew as the sun went down. Even smoked a little bit of red hash before bed. Almost stayed.
Our master Chief actually showed up at our villa. We already were awol 1 day.
I remember hearing the tires on the rocky driveway. We wanted to run out the back but knew we had to deal with reality. If it weren’t for the respect we had for him, may have stayed. Had a job lined up with a former U.S. Marine that did the same and owned a resort.
Regret it and at the same time, don’t.

I know what he means. I think tourists are afraid to talk to locals because they assume the person wants something from them. I've seen tourists who looked lost, you approach them to offer help and they reject it. I've lived in Europe and I've visited countries in Europe. I noticed that European tend not to interact with strangers. It's like they avoid talking to people they don't know. Here in Seychelles it's different. There are no strangers to us. And when you try to talk to a foreigner and they kind of brush you off it's seen as rude.
