La Plage restaurant was the best food I have had anywhere in the world and the creole curries are incredible. It was expensive but it was our honeymoon so I didn’t care - once in a lifetime thing!
Most island nations have no enough land to build or maintain factories, so they import almost everything, even biscuits, soaps, which makes stuffs expensive.

as a seychellois , watching your perspective on the take in seychelles made me become more open-minded about the value of my country , mainly because i came from a poor family , i always thought everything that is expensive was simply because of importation , apart from that, im glad you enjoyed some paradise that they offer here
As a Seychellois maybe you can answer me this - what's the percentage of black population in Seychelles? And how do I stand out as a black person in Seychelles? Am from Kenya and in Mombasa we have a high number of Seychellois and I am looking forward traveling to Seychelles as well. These are some of the concerns I had.
@@mwangigitau286 there are average like 60% black people and 40% of people who are light brown skin and white , but being a black person does not necessarily make you stand out, as the majority of the population has African ancestry or is of mixed African descent. Remember, it's important to be yourself, respect local customs and traditions, and engage with others in a positive and genuine manner. By doing so, you can make a meaningful impact and create connections that go beyond race or ethnicity.

Seychelles (country of birth) is an amazing place, stunning to say the least. I grew up on La Digue and these tortoises have been there for at least 100 years. Excellent synopsis.
I visited that island! I thought no-one lived there? We also visited the island with the Hilton hotel as well... we stayed on the Hilton on the mainland. It was for our honeymoon! It was perfect, just perfect. The food, the people, the islands, the sea. La Plage restaurant was the best food I have had anywhere in the world and the creole curries are incredible. It was expensive but it was our honeymoon so I didn’t care - once in a lifetime thing!
@@mariancounsellor maybe I have it confused with another island - I was thinking of the one with the tortoise - and a mad Englishman used to own it but now it’s uninhabited other than when tourists visit to see the tortoise etc... the island with the Hilton only has employees living on it as well... so this must be a different island. 👍

I was in Seychelles two weeks ago and it was the most beautiful experience. I haven’t felt that amount of peace and calm in any country. I spent 4 nights in Savoy resort in Beau Vallon, and that resort was so beautiful with amazing service. I also found the locals very nice and accommodating when I went touring Mahe. I was never treated in a weird way or anything like Tayo described in his own video. It’s quite expensive in Seychelles, but I expected this considering it’s an island country with very limited resources. The driver that drove us around even said the entire island runs on a diesel generator for power, so you can imagine how expensive that is. He also mentioned the drug abuse problem and it was really sad to hear. Everywhere feels so dreamy in Seychelles, the air is clean, the water, the environment everything really. I had a great experience and can’t wait to return in the future if the recent ban on Nigerian passport holders gets lifted.
The driver gave you a fairytale. Mahé have at least 2 power stations with multiple generators. Also solar panels and wind turbines plants. Seychelles is the richest country in Africa per people. It's official.

Actually what the guy is talking about is only one 1% of the Seychelles. The Seychelles is 115 islands. Only 42 of the islands are like Mahé. The rest are more like Maldives with huge coral atolls, extensive reef and great beaches. Desroches island have a 14 km beach.😂

I remember going to Seychelles when I was in the navy. We played basketball against some local b-ballers. They beat us a couple of times and I remember spraining my knee. I hopped on one leg to the resort by the beach. Overall, I enjoyed myself the whole time I was there. I need to get back there again.
Anywhere where tourism is booming there's always a problem with heroine, even in my own city where I come from, mombasa, Kenya it's the same issue, and in Zanzibar too, I hate to say this but the tourists (Europeans) brought this in the East African coasts 😢

Been to the Sychelles 3 times(for work) and it’s beautiful. I really enjoyed my time there. It was actually hot, hotter than home, Hawaii. But I am always happy when I come back home here in Hawaii. When they say it’s expensive, idk man, it was fair enough.
You never know what expensive like until you in Seychelles, I out of a teenage Igbo hustling curiosity traveled from Lagos alone in 2002, Even as at then the most affordable guess house i got was 50 usd .Then next morning i was yet again set back with 100 usd just for a meal at restaurant and a tube of tooth paste that i bought. However, it wasn't just quite frankly the exorbitant pricing. its is the language barrier, lonely street , no night life , zero as at then. Nevertheless, i met some amazing very good humans, Islanders, Pirates, Dreadlocks Rastafarians who guided me around the ship. There was this guy i believe is , Seychelles Taekwondo federation champ who took me to his house,, beach, ate with his family , Shout out anyone? Am looking out for him still, Amazing guy right there!

I remember going to Seychelles when I was in the navy. We played basketball against some local b-ballers. They beat us a couple of times and I remember spraining my knee. I hopped on one leg to the resort by the beach. Overall, I enjoyed myself the whole time I was there. I need to get back there again.

Anywhere where tourism is booming there's always a problem with heroine, even in my own city where I come from, mombasa, Kenya it's the same issue, and in Zanzibar too, I hate to say this but the tourists (Europeans) brought this in the East African coasts 😢

Been to the Sychelles 3 times(for work) and it’s beautiful. I really enjoyed my time there. It was actually hot, hotter than home, Hawaii. But I am always happy when I come back home here in Hawaii. When they say it’s expensive, idk man, it was fair enough.

You never know what expensive like until you in Seychelles, I out of a teenage Igbo hustling curiosity traveled from Lagos alone in 2002, Even as at then the most affordable guess house i got was 50 usd .Then next morning i was yet again set back with 100 usd just for a meal at restaurant and a tube of tooth paste that i bought. However, it wasn't just quite frankly the exorbitant pricing. its is the language barrier, lonely street , no night life , zero as at then. Nevertheless, i met some amazing very good humans, Islanders, Pirates, Dreadlocks Rastafarians who guided me around the ship. There was this guy i believe is , Seychelles Taekwondo federation champ who took me to his house,, beach, ate with his family , Shout out anyone? Am looking out for him still, Amazing guy right there!
