- What does Fort Myers Beach look like? Well, to be fair, there is a lot of clean up that needs to happen. But the beach down at Fort Myers Beach is still amazing!

I love how you explain what each shell is.
Really. I've learned sooooo much from you. 33:01
In 1989, my husband was very much into windsurfing. In January of that year, we made a trip down to Baja. We camped at Punta Chivato for windsurfing. I've always loved shells and walking the beach. The area we stayed in was so full of shells I felt like we were in shell heaven. Found so many scallop flats, other shells I wasn't familiar with. Came home with a cooler full of shells.
What an amazing experience and an amazing memory. I can only imagine who magical that must have been. ❤️
Wow you hit the jackpot today ! That one crown was fabulous with all those spikes ! I would have crawled into the area as well to get that horse ! What a great find ! Thanks again for a wonderful day today at the beach ! ❤
Truly jealous. I’m a shell and rock hound nut.
From someone who lives in the desert, this is so magical!
Just so you know, yours is the only intro I actually listen to, after you say , "Let's go to the beach", as it is short and enjoyable. I have started picking up garbage on my walks in parks (not the beach) and hope others will do the same. I am lost if you don't post Sundays.
I just need to win the lottery so I can just make this going to the beach thing my job already! Thanks so much for coming to the beach with me!
That little orange true tulip was so adorable and beautiful!! So glad the pier was still there!
Thank you for taking us to Ft. Myers Beach! As always, I enjoyed it so much!
Have watched you for a few months now! Got to go to your area in Florida for a week for my birthday a few weeks ago. Took a trip to Keewaydin & it did not disappoint. Will be looking into shell camp for my next trip that way. Thanks for all your awesome energy & naturalist knowledge. Got TONS of Florida fighting conchs & love them. In Colorado now. My beach fix was perfect. 🌊🐬🐚⛴️🌴
I love this! I'm so glad you got yourself some of those fabulous FL conchs. I don't think you can really appreciate some of these shells until you hold them yourself. I'm so glad you had fun!
So nice to see how FMB is coming along. Awesome finds! Love the rose petal tellins! Thanks Sharmon! 😊
Fabulous beach walk! ❤
Thank you for FMB video...enjoyed so much. Have been visiting here since 1984...but sadly probably won't be visiting anytime soon...my precious sister has passed away...and it won't be the same without my Dear, Precious Sherry...but the memories will Forever be in my heart.
May Sherry rest in peace 🙏🏼
What a great walk on FMB! The shelling was phenomenal and my favorite was the big Lightning Whelk, but your favorite Fighting Conch is stunning. Thank you.
Thank you so kindly ❤️ What a beautiful time shelling. Take care and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful videos with us all ❤
My heart jumped into my throat when I saw you pick up the large lightning whelk❤
Goodness FM certainly does look different. But, as you say, it will bounce back. What a lovely range of shells and the size of the lettered olives! a wow. Lovely trip. Stay safe xx
It's so strange to be there with all the destruction but it's probably always going to be my favorite beach.
Such beautiful seashells, I am going to have to get out to the beach soon. ❤ Thank You for taking us along once again, ❤
Every Sunday evening I look forward to your beach excursions, and the fantastic shell finds! I especially like the lettered olives and the lightning welks!
Beautiful shells! Fort Myers is coming back slowly but surely.
It really is hard to figure out which shell is your favorite. I think the Lettered Olives are my favorite. That huge one you found was beautiful!! Thank you so much for taking us along with you. ❤🐚
It's really hard to pick just one favorite shell for me!
You almost killed my beach vibe with the "work and meetings" comment but I was able to re-engage LOL. Beautiful treasures on this run!
Yeah, terrible to even breathe something like the "W" word but since I haven't won the lottery yet I'm going to have to keep going to those meetings! 😂 I'll keep that part to myself next time!
@@SWFBeachLife nah it's all good. It's nice to know that you have a real life alongside your beach life! Thanks for taking us along, and you can say the "w" word LOL
I know what you mean I didn't know she had a real job lol
Lots of great finds again! Your beach visits rarely disappoint! LOVE the (almost albino) fighting conch and the large lightning whelk. We don’t get them in Australia so it’s always a treat to watch you find them so easily! ❤
We have such an incredible array of species that live in our waters. I'm super lucky to live here!
I am so happy I found your videos. I am now in Texas, miles from my beloved ocean. So, your beach walk is much appreciated. We share the same enthusiasm for Mother Nature's treasures. My partner used to put a five pound limit on my shell and rock collecting in the RV!
Here in Texas on the Gulf of Mexico, the shells are limited and very different. My favorites were on the California coast but your finds were so awesome. Thank you for doing such a great job.
Thanks so much for saying so! We have all sorts of crazy beautiful shells down here in SWFL. I would have a real problem only being able to keep 5 lbs of shells. I'd have to ship them somewhere for safe keeping! 😂
I could happily sit and go through that pile of little and tiny’s at 6:22 for HOURS! Thanks for sharing your beach.
Ty so much for sharing. I love Sundays with you. ❤
Love the videos. Thank You
Thank you for sharing!
What an awesome find for me. I love shell hunting 🥰😻
Wow!! Great shell shopping today, I'm hoping next year we will be coming your way to go shelling, thanks as always for sharing
Beautiful treasurers again today! I love all the shells you found on this trip. Good on you!
Thanks for taking us along. Nice learning experience
So wish I was there! Such awesome finds there at fb! Thank you thank you for taking us along!!!!
Thank you so much for your care of the beautiful beaches by picking up broken glass and garbage, I am sure you have saved many feet from what could be a serious injury, as a beach lover myself I Thank you again!
Excellent finds!
Gorgeous shells ~~ love that big lightning whelk
Oh, Sharmon, you sound sick, sweetie. Are you feeling okay? I had no idea that fort Meyers had so many gorgeous shells! ( : You are finding the best shells today! Holy moly! ( ; A slew of angel wings; 😊 gorgeous lettered olives and lightning whelks! Wow! Great slipper shell! ( : Cool Atlantic winged oyster! I love finding driftwood too! Yayyyyyyy! ( : Yayyyyyyy! So nice to walk "with" you. Lovely finds.
Thanks for the journey today ! Beautiful finds on FMB. See you in the next beach journey. 🥰
Wow! I love all the Crown Conchs! I usually find live ones on Marco, would love to find more that are collectible. Such a great variety too! ❤
thank you for your channel 🥺 im landlocked where i call home now and when i feel homesick for the ocean this brings me so so so much joy
I'm sorry you are landlocked but at least you can come to the beach "virtually" with me!
That Florida fighting conch is gorgeous. I think it’s my favorite too! Gorgeous Lightning welk, awesome Florida Horse Conch and those angel wings were amazing.
Always enjoy watching your video. We love collecting seashell when ever we have a chance ❤️. Thanks for beautiful and relaxing video as always. 🙏
Thanks Sharmon, that was a fantastic shell hunt on FMB. Have a super week.
Currently in North Carolina and found my self picking up the rose colored scallops, and commenting to my husband about the color variations. Thanks for making my aware of their beauty.
Hi Sharmon! What a great trip with all kinds of gorgeous finds. I loved that white fighting conch! How spectacular, especially with all those colors around the opening! Also I was gasping at the quahog (spelling?). The size floored me. Also loved all those beautiful crown conchs, the hinged beach bowl, and of course, that really big whelk and horse conch. Very happy for you! Have a great week!.
Fabulous finds! And even in its altered (post hurricane) state it is still a beautiful beach.
Thank you for showing the lettered olives, they are my favorite. I would love to be able to shell like you do. I live in Indiana and there are no shells here. 😀💗
The lighting whelke is very beautiful, and so is the nutmeg, crowned conk, the rose petal Tallon. The colors are beautiful. The olives are beautiful. The little fighting conks are just beautiful and cute. Love the zigzags on it along with the colors. The true tulips are so pretty. The spinny jewel box, banned tulips and the merax are so beautiful. There are so many beautiful shells. I can not ever pick a favorite. It is so amazing how the shells turn out. Every place seems to be a little bit different. Love the beach time as well. Hearing the water and waves are just so calming. Just wow on all the shells and sun coming up and the water.Thank you for another wonderful shelling video. Have a great day
You make me miss my late friend who passed away from Covid. Her and husband had just bought a house in North Fort Myers and she loved seashells so much❤.
Never. All shells that still have something living in them need to stay at the beach!
Thank you. I sure miss that beach..
Hi Sharmon! Your adventures are always awesome. Great variety of shells! Love all those crown conch. You clean them up so well. I know that FMB is nowhere near what it was but it's beautiful and it will come back. Thanks for another lovely Sunday of beachtime with you! Have a great week, Hugs!!
Your intro makes me happy 😊🎶🎶🏖️
Wow that FFC is so special!!
What a great shelling day! The crown conchs! WHAT! The olives, really all of them. I love your new favorite fighting conch too. Such a wonderful video. Hope you have a great week and see you Sunday. XOXO
AMAZING DAY !!
Gorgeous shells!!
Thank you so much for your videos. I am from Canada and finally have made my way to the Gulf Coast this week. We can’t make it to Fort Myers but checking out Honeymoon beach thanks to your videos. Going to enjoy some beachy goodness!
We made it to Fort Dosoto Park and the shells were amazing! Beautiful white sands and lots of birds. Some dolphins came to play and found myself lots of sand dollars. Beautiful place and only 5.00 for all day play. At Honeymoon beach I think we saw a whales tail come out of the gulf? Is that possible for this area? It was huge and so very exciting. Lots of chestnut turbines there as well! another beautiful day! Thanks again for your videos and visuals on all the critters. Found some live critters and they didn’t freak me out!
I stumbled on your channel just yesterday and i really love your enthusiasm and positivity! Hello from Italy💪🏼💛🇮🇹
Thank you so much! That gnocchi you made looks delicious!
@@SWFBeachLife thank you so much💛💛😊, don't stop sharing your passions 💪🏼💛🇮🇹
Beautiful day at the beach
Beautiful! I miss going to beach miss Florida!
Yes! I'll say it! GOD BLESS Fort Myers Beach! You bet! & God Bless to who ever put up that sign! :)
Great finds.
Went on a trip and got covid- these videos making recovery so much nicer!
What a beautiful day to be out at Fort Myers Beach!! I love when you find slipper shells and rose petal tellin. That’s one thing I want to do is collect small pinky/purple shells and put them in a jar for my beach themed bathroom.
That Cuban land snail was cool. I remember when you were cleaning up your backyard after Ian, you found a large Cuban land snail by your pool.
Thanks Sharmon for another enjoyable and relaxing beach time!! Have a great week and we’ll see you next Sunday!!🥰🐬
Good memory Pam! I did scoop one of those shells from my pool cleaning up from the hurricane flooding 😃
I love those crown conchs with the double rows ….
fort myers looks like such a nice place!
I just found your show yesterday and I absolutely love it. Thank you so much for creating such a magical, awesome extravaganza!! I am a shut in now but I have always adored the beach. I especially like the rose petal talons and the moon shells. God bless you.
Well I am glad you found me! I run all over southwest Florida checking out beaches and islands. It's a beautiful place in the country to live! ❤️
Amazing Lightening Welk!
Thanks from Lehigh Acres/ LaBelle!
fun video. wish I was there. Im from Connecticut
Heyo, for some reason I really notice when you show a shell with the water behind your hand, I like all others also but I guess that makes the details pop. Enjoy the live critters! Great laugh at 21:40 decorated urchin #2 “that surface clam is a bit extra but hey you do you” 😂. Blessings to you and yours.
So happy you tell us where u are beach combing. And no offense.. seeing the beach and not your face like others. Lol
You are by far the best shell RUclipsr!!
Awe - thank you so much for saying so! I like that I can still go on a shell tour and not be recognized unless I start talking 😂
❤miss the beach so much
love all your moon snails.
I really like your intro. Especially when you say Let’s go to the beach. You do a really great job on video production.
Awe - thank you so much for saying so!
I love this! Reminds me of my childhood. TFS ❤
Loved this. You made it to the pier. My condo is just beyond that at Seawatch on the Beach.. Still being repaired. Hope to be there the first week of December!!!!
I was just thinking today that places are rebuilding for this winter. I wonder if FMB is going to be ready - either way the beach sure will be!
Can you upload more often pleaseee 🥹🥹 waiting a whole week is draining me 😂 anyways another great video 🎉❤ amazing finds!
I would if I could! I just need to win the lottery so I can make this channel my full-time job already!
Thanks!
Stacey thank you so very much!!! ❤️🙏🏼
You never cease to amaze me...and the shells of course...lol. l
Love my Sunday evenings with you❣️🦋❣️🥰🌊🐚🐚🐚🌈🌊🥰
Thank you for spending some of your Sunday with me!
Was so pleased you distinguished between a Gaudy Nautica and Florida Moonsnail. I have wondered for a long time. I will now sort mine accordingly. I always love your videos. Thanks Sharmon
I'm not sure if I've ever found a FL moon snail but I'm going to be on the lookout from now on! The more I am out there the more I learn!
So glad to see the recovery progress! Beautiful shells! I was wondering, can seashells be piebald?
Do you mean with areas without coloring, when elsewhere it has normal coloring ?. Isn't this the same as leucistic ?. I have seen shells 60 years, and I have seen her get some with very different areas. One, the Figting conch seems to have great variety. The pear whelk is another. I had a sharkeye that was 90% white... and it wasn't from sun fade.
After reading some more about it, it does appear that they are the same thing. I had thought about that question for a while. I know some shells just have a natural variation, but that Florida Fighting Conch is the one that finally made me ask. 😊
I went down a little leucism/piebald rabbit hole and it was quite interesting. It occurred to me that research on marine mollusks is somewhat lacking so finding out might actually be quite difficult to confirm!
@@fullerfamily5190 I have heard more about leucistic birds and deer. Sharmon is definitely onto something important here... considering that the study of the shells of ocean mollusks is, perhaps less published
as well. There is alot we have still to learn.
I had wondered too !. Esp. when I've seen whelks that look like a cross between a Pear and a Lightening Whelk !.
I'm not saying they did cross, just that there can be much variety. 💙🐚💙
Thank you for taking us with you and educating us, I’m from Australia and enjoy the contrasts. But please don’t call albinos weirdos, just not cool you know. People have feelings and I’m sure you don’t want to cause hurt.
Like the calico crab shells 🐚
❤great shelling!
Wow! Another great video! And all those pretty shells…😍😍 The Crown Conchs and Angel wings (especially those really big ones!) are my favorite finds of this haul! Hoping I can find myself some of those one day….I’ve found some King Crowns, but they were occupied so I had to do a mini photo shoot and leave them…perhaps I’ll be rewarded one day by the Ocean! Thanks for another great beach walk and shell collecting!
I hope the ocean does indeed reward you for your kindness!
Just love your videos. We were to be there in Sanibel a week before Ian hit.😢we were totally devastated. We're happy to see things are slowly coming back.Hope to be there in October.😂You are truly a lucky person to be there shelling. Miss it so much.Keep on shelling and make us happy.😊❤❤God Bless.
Your beach visits are so fun! I’m curious what do you w/ the thousands of shells you find?
I keep some shells, I put some to the side for "projects" I hope to tackle in the future and I do have an Etsy store where I try to sell them when I can find the time. I'm taking Florida Master Naturalist classes so I'm extra busy right now!
Nice as usual. My favorite shells are the really small ones; they're so cute and pretty at the same time. Thankx for sharing.
The tiny shells are fascinating. I have few I can't identify. They have such variety. I keep them in craft of tackle boxes that are clear. Like opening a box of goodies. 🥰
I went tiny shelling today!! I'll be sharing in a few weeks. It was so fun!
I went tiny shelling today and you're right - it is fascinating! And it was so fun!
Thank YOU!!! Another wonderful Sunday shelling trip! 🥰 Heading to Marco this week, and booked a tour Anxious to find some treasures to bring home!!
May the shells be in your favor!
@@SWFBeachLife 🥰🐚❤️. Thank you so much!
Beautiful shells 😊
Ooh, nice shells! I have yet to find a large lightning whelk! How is the recovery around the area? I know Sanibel has been slow. I hope everything is back up soon! I'm glad to know that the beautiful shells are still there. Thanks for taking us along!
Recovery on FMB is quite slow. There are a few places open but it's going to be a long time before it's back to "normal."
That tellin at 29.30 would make a beautiful set of earrings! ❤
So happy the pier is still there!! Amazing quantity, mix, and quality of shells on this walk!
The public pier at Times Square didn’t fare well tho.
I dont see a pier I see remnants of pilings of what used to be a pier
All that's left of that one is the cement. Total bummer.
That's probably my bad - I call those pilings a pier.
@@SWFBeachLife has there any talks about a new pier at Times Square? My brother in law was one of the owners of pierside. Haven’t spoken to him for a couple weeks
I'm watching this video of yours BEFORE I head to work for a 12 hour day. Thing is... I look at the beach from my home AND my workplace and I don't get to walk on it on work days. Its like every person I see on it is mocking me lol ! This mornings sunrise was spectacular here on the Irish Sea... and it called my name . Alas... I have to make do for now with a virtual walk on Fort Myers beach. Thanks for making that possible.
Oh that would drive me mad. Knowing the beach is RIGHT THERE and I can't go exploring. At least you get to appreciate her from afar.....❤️
I love the beach and live in Florida. Every time I go, I barely find good shells. I'll have to go after whenever it storms again. I might be lucky. You have a lot of knowledge because to me all are shells LOL! Now, I'm learning the names.
All Florida beaches were not created equally. The beaches here in SW Florida have fabulous seashells!
I loooved the unique FFC you picked up...that is one of a kind for sure! I also appreciated that you recognized the Florida Natica(Natica tedbayeri) - I believe that's what you were referencing? lol. I have found a few of those, but only in SE FL, and they do for sure look rather distinct to the Gaudy Natica. Awesome video as always, friend!
Yes, I do not believe I have found a FL Natica yet, or a nerite, or a vase shell - there are still so many to hunt for! Thanks for watching beach friend! If you ever come back to the SWFL area, please let me know!
@@SWFBeachLife absolutely will do, friend!
I hate when your videos end just like you when you have to leave the beach. Awesome finds.
So jealous! I love collecting shells. I never find whole shells, just pieces.
You have to go to the right beach!
Fun!
Always envious of your lightning welks. They are a little less common here north Clearwater and St Pete imo
I'm lucky with A LOT of shells down here!!
Loved ❤❤❤❤
