Prolonged lowered calories tanks metabolism afaik. Alternate day fasting would be more effective I'd say. Things like eating 5000 calories on one (Training) day (up to 3 meals, ketogenic macros 80:20), then not eating the next day. Drinking electrolyte solution on fasting days. Ketosis/Fasting is muscle sparing. You could eat protein and fat in the morning, have some rice/fruit/dextrose around you workout and then eat protein and fat in the evening again. Metabolic flexibility is the ultimate health goal.

I’ve been low carb, in and out of keto, for 4 years now. I personally have not suffered lower t levels. When I do eat carbs for a few weeks, I get all the signs of low T. Lowered sex drive, skin looks worse, blood pressure raises.
I don’t doubt that some people can’t handle it, but for myself it has been nothing but positive.
I haven’t even mentioned the mental factors, which are probably the biggest positive.
I wonder if the people having issues are at a caloric deficit, which admittedly is very easy to do on low carb as you don’t have general hunger sensations.

People who give up one of the important macros that have ever existed are basically saying they can’t control themselves so they shut it out completely. The reason I don't like low carb diets is because I like carbs... And you probably do too. If you want to lose weight, go for a keto like diet for a little while. If it works, great. But if you can't keep the weight off then I don't think it's worth it. I've tried all the diets and the only one that worked for me is portion control and the lifestyle change that came with it. My parents taught me bad eating habits as a child. I'm 26 and I'm just now starting to understand what a good relationship with food feels like. You can trick your body into all sorts of things. Maybe less carbs means you're getting hungry less. But are you never going to eat pizza again? My answer is an big no. It's better to rely on your own will power than relying on restricting certain foods completely. You are a human and food used to be a scarce resource. I've accepted my evolutionary tendency to be addicted to food and I'm on my way to stomping it out. Bottom line, eating under your maintenance isn't supposed to be easy when you're surrounded by food, because your body doesn't prefer to voluntarily starve itself. I suppose any diet that is restricting calories below maintenance is teaching you how to eat with discipline. People search for the quick and easy method without thinking about the long term. In theory, you should only be eating below your maintenance for one weight loss cycle, and if you keep the weight off, you eat at maintenance for the rest of your life. I'm 6 foot, 190 pounds and I'm still trying to cut the last bit of fat. Even at a 750 calorie deficit, I'm eating 2800 calories a day because I'm very active. My metabolism grinds through food like crazy, but that also means if I eat like shit and don't exercise, my body works out into gay very quickly. I'm leaner now than I was two years ago at ~170 because I put on some muscle. Long term success is about discipline. Fad diets can be good for short term success, but if you are playing the weight loss game because you want to actually be healthier, then discipline is all that matters. Daily exercise is the thing that finally brought me the discipline to stick to a good diet. If you want to play on hard mode, try eating edibles everyday... Talk about insatiable hunger.

RUclips is so confusing. I got PCOS and on keto diet, trying to get pregnant & not getting pregnant. Some doctors say keto and IMF help women with PCOS. I am doing it and now I cannot see ovulation.

look up Natasha Campbell McBride infertility. There's a podcast episode on it. Eat raw cheeses, ~30g liver a day, other organ meats (thymus, heart, tongue etc.). Don't calorie restrict. Eat a ton of animal Fat. Tallow, Butter (raw if you can get it).

The fat increases testosterone, and grains decrease testosterone, so this is why people get confused.
Carbohydrates increase testosterone if they are in natural form (fruit, agave nectar) and possibly some toxic tubers like yams and potatoes can have an androgenic effect on humans, but bread, pasta, cereal and all that has a feminizing effect. So if your T shot up, thats probably why

total t isn't the whole picture. You have to look at total and free. Additionally, you have to use the most advanced measurement method for both to obtain the best accuracy. Seems people are having a TT increase while the FT crashes. I am just beginning to investigate this myself (I am low carb, not keto).

Most people need less protein (0.36g/lb, maybe double that if you’re a performance athlete), saturated fats, and refined carbohydrates and more healthy fats and complex carbs.

A lot of people especially women eat to low protein and get a lot of problems like hair loss etc...
Less saturated fats? 🤦🏻 People have to stay away from industrial seed oils, which are the biggest poison for our health. All the essential fat soluble vitamins are in food, that contain good amounts of saturated fats...
My hormones are so amazing after ditching all oils except extra virgine olive- and coconut oil and increasing my saturated fats from raw grass fed dairy, pasture raised eggs, coconut, cocoa etc...
All essential things we need only in smaller amounts and the non - essential things are so crucial to health, that your body can build this stuff on their own.
All extreme diets are bad long term (vegan, keto, carnivore, frugivore etc...).
I eat a lot of carbs/sugars, fats (mostly saturated and monounsaturated) and moderate high quality proteins. My C - RP was 0.4 five weeks ago. Why? Because all my natural foods are improving inflammation and have all the micronutrients my body needs ;-).
Enjoy all macros dependend on activity levels from natural food and you can live a long healthy life 👌🏼
