He also took an even worse WR core to an 11 win season in 2017 and outplayed drew Brees in the playoff game that year 🤷♂️. It was only a matter of time before his physical play caught up to him. Getting cut by NE maybe what allows him to heal and be able to walk in 10 years. That's why young NFL QBs need to drilled into sliding.

Cam Newton has a serious problem. He's for the most part always in the news for the wrong reasons. He lives on tearing or talking down people. He critical of almost all players while giving should- ofs and advice as if he's the ultimate authority on football matters. He basically a legend in his own mind.
After that disastrous performance by the team in Super Bowl 50, it was the beginning of the end. Just like the year prior, when Seattle lost the Super Bowl on the goal line. Team never recovered
Gettlemen took Steve Smith away from him & Cam went for years without a true #1 receiver. Even in 2015, all of our WRs came together & got us through to the Super Bowl…..After that, it just seemed like Cam went downhill. So many negative comments centered around that “fumble” and his commitment to football has been questioned. In one interview, one of the analysts (don’t remember who) brought up a comment that Cam had made “I want to be an Icon.” Naturally, it was taken out of context, but then came the lies about how he cared more about his clothes, being cool….wanting to be an “Icon” gave many the FALSE impression that Cam wasn’t a team player….He made it all about himself…. more untruths. The injuries just kept leaving their mark. I still have my QB#1 Cam Newton bobble head on the mantle and my husband knows not to move it!! LOL He gave the Panthers a chance….on any given Sunday….he left his all on the field. Let the man be “CAM!!” He doesn’t need our approval!!

In high school our QB would do the SuperCam when he reached the end zone. Even in small town southwest Kansas, Cam Newton was a name we associated with excellence. Hope his post-football life is just as rewarding!
I literally told my girlfriend at the time they had made the playoffs, THE GUY WONT RUN UP THE MIDDLE. He only ran outside the tackles every time he took off running. When the Super Bowl came around, I literally said that I'd just play tight coverage and watch the sweeps, then dare him to run up the middle. Sure enough, he would stand there, with an open middle of the field and wouldn't run. Go back and watch it! They lost.
Well think about it. If the outside is open and there’s less big bodies in there you’re gonna take that route as opposed to defensive takcloans linebackers. Who would you rather run into, a 330 pound DT, a 240 pound linebacker or a maybe 200 pound at most corner that you’re like six inches taller than and outweigh by at least 50 pounds.
When some players are that talented, they don’t work on reading defenses, learning the game, etc. Of course his body broke down playing like that and he had not made himself a student of the game like successful long term QBs do.
100%... having those physical advantages make it easier to coast, and especially for QB's it will hurt them in the long run as NFL defenses accumulate more and more tape to study. This also happened to Colin Kaepernick, once they had the book on him he was simply ineffective to the point of getting benched for Blake Gabbard.
I feel like there are moments where you can see dynasties vanish For example, the seahawks’ interception in super bowl 49 practically ended their #1 defense and legion of boom Cam’s no-dive Brady Leaving the patriots (obviously)

Cam my favorite player ever but that’s so fax. I think he showed how being a running qb and taking less hits as possible is the way to go. I think the newer wave like Lamar and Murray are going to really show how to be a running qb with longevity
@Cat LoverRussell Wilson?
That's true , but that's the modern day QB.
@Cat Lover can we agree that we are seeing far less pocket passer coming out of colleges then 20 years ago? As a die hard Pats fan now, Cam was really the reason I got into football like I am now. I was only mildly interested in 13 and 14 with the sport till 2015 came along and Cam made me see how much fun the game can truly be. It will always bug me that the Pats couldn’t have played Cam in Super Bowl 50 instead of the Broncos. It’s such a shame that injuries brought him down. @@kevinbond8966 you defiantly seem like a casual lmao. Let me educate you for a minute so you can learn something today. Cam newton had one of the greatest rookie seasons of all time which automatically eliminates the “1 good year” argument and is also a 3 time pro bowler. He’s constantly carried poor supporting casts to playoff appearances and even took a bad supporting casts to a super bowl which he never gets credit for. He also took an even worse WR core to an 11 win season in 2017 and outplayed drew Brees in the playoff game that year 🤷♂️. A quarterback who relies so much on athleticism will always have a shorter shelf-life.
Relies on RUNNING WITH THE BALL.
It was only a matter of time before his physical play caught up to him. Getting cut by NE maybe what allows him to heal and be able to walk in 10 years.
That's why young NFL QBs need to drilled into sliding.

They lost.
The conspiracy theorist in me says they were paid to throw it so Peyton can ride off into the sunset a champion
As a Broncos Fan 2015 was a great year. It was also the last time we had a winning season.
