Godfrey was disqualified a whopping nine times in his career (at least three were due to low blows). He also had five bouts end by way of "no contest" due to stalling/lack of effort.

Just look how both men are picking each other punches from long range to inside fighting, Also I noticed George Godfrey will used the cross arm guard when coming forward and likes to ducking or slip when walking down Carnera. for being a 6ft6 260lb giant he's good at inside fighting.

Not a big fan of Carnera but he did seem to land more often than Godfrey did. Unfortunately, George had a reputation for doing stuff to be disqualified for, even against black opponents. Unlike Joe Louis, Godfrey had no idea how to get inside Carnera's long reach.

The Leiperville Shadow was a knockout artist! He had to take a lot of dives in his career, especially this fight with primo carnera. Primo carnera could have actually been a good boxer and had a few above the board fights, but George Godfrey definitely would have knocked him spark out on the level.

never knew Carnera was in fixed fights. I might have to take a look at it. But Primo Carnera was a pretty good boxer who beat pretty good guys throughout his career. Btw, do you think Joe Louis really ducked black fighters throughout his career? ik it’s a random thought but many people in the boxing Quora says so but he’s fought some black contenders during his reign.

Where is the dive here? Are you saying he was paid to deliver a low blow?

yet still had like a record of 98-21. without the tank jobs that probably rises to 115-4 or so. along with larry gains, the most overlooked heavyweight in history bar none
