In the words of my guild mate before he got ganked... "They are probably going to announce shadowlands release date at gamescom tomorrow and when they do they are probably going to release it in October because gaming logic dictates that shadowlands is a spooky expansion therefore it needs to release in a spooky month."
God bless Michael McConnohie for the voice of Uther. That shriek of pain as his soul was torn apart and the dramatic emphasis he puts into the lines adds so much weight to everything that is said.
@Weilan And how exactly is your comment related to the original comment? He was literally just complimenting the voice actor of Uther on his amazing performance in this video. Get your negative ass out of here.
What if it was Uther that Broke the entire Machine and is how the jailer broke free? what if Arthas wasn't destined to go to the maw but Uther dropped him in anyway, breaking the ways of Bastion
:O omg that is meta. I kinda hope it is something like that since they made such a big deal out of Uther and Bastion lady going against the "path". Would also be cool if the path is a broken system too and they are just a weird cult that wants ppl to join them and wipe all memories of their previous existence :D
I agree with that theory - Uther stating it's justice, when it's clearly vengance is a great theme. Furthermore, a cool guy named Yvenathilm commented on the blizzaard forum, that Arthas only did commit 3 somewhat reasonable crimes before his soul was taken over - does that mean, that what he did as the Lich King was forgiven, that he should have been brought to Bastion for rehebalitation/redemption or "true justice" instead of being vengefully thrown into the maw? Can't wait for the lore to progress from here.
@@bobby31723 I don't understand that mindset, especially after this cinematic, I feel like one of the main points of it was to show WHY they need to lose their memories, these are people that literally take the souls of everyone who died and are supossed to take them to the Arbiter for a fair trial and then take them to a specific covenant, but as we just saw, they don't NEED to do that, they aren't forced to it, they can literally skip the judgement and throw someone wherever they want. The thing is, without memories they don't have a reason to do that, they don't know who is the person that owns the soul they are taking and therefore they wouldn't skip the due process. When they DO have their memories tho... well we just saw it, they can throw whoever they have a grudge against to the maw, or whoever they are fond of to a "good place" without those people being judged and that's obviously a bad thing to happen.
@@Iqnacio. exactly, its a morally questionable, flawed approach. Thats what makes it interesting. The blue kyrians are flawless in their design and purpose, which makes them really effective but boring as hell. Just to turn into blue little automatons in a hive mind to obey their superiors every orders and repeating "this the way beep boop" all day. And if you fail the tests ? well you are discarded like trash and become a forsworn to be hunted down . From the look of things Uther's soul got split. One, where the soul got trapped in the Runeblade and witness everything and understood the sacrifice Arthas did and forgave him at the end. Two, the other soul had no clue what happened in the mortal world and only saw Arthas as a monster.
It would’ve have been so epic meeting up with Arthas in the Maw, breaking him out and helping him get redemption by destroying the Jailer. So much wasted potential.
Devos: "You must accept your new purpose and purge yourself of this desire for vengeance." Uther: "What I desire is ... *Justice* ." And then he got cc'd and kited and his justice ended. end of story.
I fucking hope not. I just hate when a very evil or even a pure evil villain suddenly turns good in some super cheesy redemption arc. Keep villains as villains.
@@taavidude Well originally Arthas was very a noble young prince who only cared for his people. Remember that all he did was in desperation to save his homeland and the people who lived there and thus because he was desperate he was easily corruptible. When he returned from Northrend he was a completely different person. I dont hope they redeem Arthas at all as I hate that myself but he was not inherently evil, so I would not be sad if we get a glimpse of Arthas regretting the atrocities he has done but that is about it.
I love coming back to this video to remember how hyped I felt back then. 😊 A time back when I thought we were going to get an continuation of my favorite Warcraft 3 childhood character. A new expansion full of well written zones, that would make me care about each little story that was happening there and the characters within them, with epic moments that would give me chills down my spine. Instead we got zones full of dull stories with boring quests, content drought, a completely out of touch lore with a "StarCraft looking" aesthetic, and end-game content where the solo experience consists of 80% automated systems... 😅 If there is one thing I have learned, it's that Blizzard are the best in the world at creating hype for an expansion release... 😐 And on April 19th when the next expansion is announced, I'm sure as hell going to tell myself that "no matter how amazing the cinematic will be, the expansion itself will NOT be this cool!".
Theory: everyone must be judged by the Arbiter and purified of their anima, before they can find peace in the Shadowlands. The Kyrian do this by ascending souls who purify themselves of their former lives, the Ardenweald does this by keeping the cycle of death and rebirth ticking over, Maldraxxus forges souls into the warriors to keep the peace between the realms...and the Venthyr purify the souls of the wicked but not irredeemable through pain and suffering, a la Purgatory. Had Arthas been judged by the Arbiter, as all souls were, he would have most likely been sent to Revendreth, as Kael'thas and seemingly Garrosh have been. Why? Because he was an evil soul in life, with colossal amounts of anima that needed purging. But because Uther and Devos took it upon themselves to throw Arthas into the Maw, with no judgement at all, they just dropped a colossal power-spike right into the Jailers hands. This then set his plans in motion to be freed, using the ally he made soon after her own attempted suicide...Sylvanas, who saw the fate being suffered by Arthas (the Maw, ie Warcraft Hell) and that she too would suffer. Unless she became a collaborator and benefactor of death, rather than just another soul fit for eternal torment. This set in motion her own plans to prolong her own life, bind to the Val'kyr, and flood the Maw with souls. At some point in Legion-most likely as a result of her bargain with Helya- the cycle of death broke down completely, completing phase one of her and the Jailers plans to consume all the anima in the cosmic universe. All this happened because Uther, blinded by his need for revenge under the guise of justice, gave Arthas-the very kind of key the Jailer needed to pick his own locks- to the Maw.
@@filipvadas7602 In a datamined chat after the Bastion storyline is finished, Uther admits that it was revenge, not justice, that made him condemn Arthas to the Maw. I'm actually really interested to see where his character goes from here; the premise of Shadowlands might not be the best, but I'm hoping the character moments and overarching plot carry it.
@@dleon215 The best part was right after when Arthas utters "I see only darkness before me" that's exactly how I feel every time the mount doesn't drop.
Blizzard should make those wings a mount. Instead of getting on a mount, when you cast your mount your wings come out and extend and you fly away into the sunset. Lol
@@Xgamerwoo Well I think Garrosh will play the Uther part of this episode and Sire will play the Devos part, atleast that would be what makes sense to me.
And honestly that is how it should be, if you like the theme, the story etc. of a covenant then you should pick it and not because it gives you soo much more dps compared to other covenants.
I am rolling Bastion cause of the hub, you can mount in it, enough said. Tired of dark caverns from legion and PTSD from Zul'dazar. You don't know how good you guys had it in Boralus.
The gasp at 4:11 really adds to the power of that scene too, genuinely blizzard doing what it does best right here. Imagine if wow or overwatch were as good as their animated shorts XD
What impressed me is that they created this scenario from LK. His last sentence "I see only darkness before me" now has a real sense. GG Blizzard, who could expect this coming ?
I think cinematic team is doing amazing job making masterpieces of short story content. But overall story progression and consistency is shit tbh. Its like they have 10 year old kids with crush on sylvanas writing the overall story and some master writers writing story shorts like this cinematic
The first time I saw this part brought tears. Arthas was a douchebag even when he was a paladin, but when the original wotlk theme starts, you realize it's come full circle but you didn't realize how bad it was until now, and probably not even he deserves the Maw.
@@acmaiden5236 No retcon. Retcon means changing prior plot points to fit the story. This was an addition. Hell, so well executed at that, it seems like they'd been prepping this since Wrath.
" Is it going to be ready?" That is honestly the question we are all wondering.... Not going to lie after BFA I'm worried. Even after all the coverage, feedback and change made to the beta I'm still cautious about how good this expansion is going to be. I hope that wrong in my pessimistic views of what I have seen thus far and that Shadowlands turnout to be good but...idk
I have no hope for shadowlands, its been already proven that the covenants are unbalanced and changes to the classes are small to compared to the borrowed power that there will be.
It will be just like BFA, Play during launch, finish all the content currently available within 1 month, wait half a year for the next patch and repeat.
Just look at MW. Right now there isn't even one new thing that work as it should or as intended. I was hoping that Blizz wouldn't post release date at all, and do it like CD project Red - when its ready. Now i lost all hope in any kind of trace of balance of smooth and bug free entry in to Shadowlands.
there is clearly something broken beforehand because Uther is thrown into the Bastion Path even if his Soul is "broken" and Arthas was wielding the power of the Maw on the mortal realm. Devos calls them out that somehing is fishy and the higher ups just dismiss it. The system was broken even before Devos and Uther "went rogue"
So, when Uther was stabed, his soul got separated into 2 parts. The first one is the good forgiven part of Uther. Its when we see him forgive Arthus for what he done. The evil part is, what it descended to the shadowland. A soul that is driven by hatred and vengeance toward Arthus. It is what we see in this animation. This make sense if you apply the same logic to the Sylvanas. She was a good Elf that stood against the Lich King. She got stabbed and her soul got separated. The evil part is in shadowlands. The good part ? I dunno where it is tbh.
Sylvanas is different, she was turned into a Banshee. Also, "Light Save my Soul" ... Uther's soul split into his human soul and his "Light Aligned" Soul... the Golden soul of Uther that was sent to Shadowland is his Fanatic love and belief in Light and Justice...
@@UltimateGamerCC wait, Sylvanas was always bad ? Im sure she was defending a poor elf girl before she got stabbed and her soul got separated as of what happen to Uther here.
@@NaouiGhassen I think he mean she was always bad "After she got turned into a banshee" Since I know people who thought she was still a good person as a Banshee and only start turning bad in BFA as "Blizzard ruined her" lol
Arthas was always a good person and a strong Paladin who served the Light until he got corrupted by the idea of vengeance down the line. The path he took to try and stop Mal'Ganis who he thought was responsible for the Scourge and the death of his people, is what led him to pick up the cursed blade Frostmourne which slowly consumed him. The action itself was noble since all he did was to try and save his kingdom. He even states that he would do anything, even picking up a cursed blade, if that meant the salvation of Lordaeron. We can all assume that the curse and the constant whispers of Ner'zhul made him lose track of his original goals and himself. Even after he fell down the path of righteousness and became the Lich King, the remnants of his soul/being still held back the Scourge quite a lot from destroying Azeroth. If his intentions were total annihilation, I think he would have let the undead roam free. Not saying he was good as the LK, which he was not. I'm just saying you can't judge someone's soul like it was 1+1=2 since there are a lot of factors to consider. To be honest, I think this was serious considering he was never judged and might have not even been assigned to the Maw but another place for his redemption which I feel like he deserves.
I felt that as well. This isn't the Lich King being punished, this is Arthas the man being sworn to eternal suffering... I could see a redemption arc here but it would take some stellar writing to pull it off. All and all this is a huge step forward for Blizzard and shows the artistic team carrying their own weight.
Well said! I saw someone commenting this on this video but Azeroth herself is the only one who can truly judge Arthas because even as the LK and all the evil he had commited he is the sole reason why Azeroth is still there and not destroyed. The Blade and the Helmet were meant for the Jailer or someone who is just pure evil. Imagine someone else as the Lich King besides Bolvar. Azeroth would be doomed. So in a sense, Arthas still saved us all, even if his goal was not to save Azeroth but he was aware of this and held the Scourge back for his entire time as the LK even in his weaker state of mind were he wasnt the dominat force behind the LK. As you said its not that simple.
That animated short gave feels I didnt feel for a VERY long time from WoW. Maybe because Arthas was my first progress. Damn im hyped now. And..I think we are going to see him again at some point. Good job Bliz², we have to say when it's good, and damn it was!
Its actually very curious to see Arthas' soul bypass the arbiter due to Devos and Uther claiming it directly after he dies and yeeting it into the maw. Wonder what blizzard will do with that. Additionally, Uther's being wounded by Frostmourne begs the question if Sylvannas maybe has some sort of a similar experience?
@OriginalGangsterGrow I think there isn't really a personality difference between 2 parts. Part that went into shadowlands stayed with same mindset he had at the moment he died, while Frostmourne part was with Arthas for a long time and understood how he got manipulated.
Pretty sure that Uther soul is still broken and that we will beat him to fusion his two separated soul into one, giving us our old Uther. The one would have never throw Arthas in the maw.
@@jbrookl83 Or maybe it was because his soul splitted when he was attacked by the frostmourne, and the shard that got absorbed into the sword was the good one that forgived arthas, while the other that went into the shadowlands was filled with hatred and vengeance against him instead.

Damn he literally opened the gates of hell here!!!!!!!!!!!! Many believe that Arthas was the one of the most evil characters in wow, but it was uther all along , arthas was just a victim, manipulated by a being he didnt know it existed. @@lordzordo3506 yea that's what happens . Actually the leader of the valkyr takes her place in hell so that she could live again . so hang on..... wouldn't Uther had gained his soul back after frostmourne had shattered? maybe that's why he was hesitant when it came to dropping him in the maw. either way this is hype beyond belief! makes you wonder if arthas will be included more in the expansion itself!
uthers souls broke in two pieces, the one that we see at ICC and this one, the one at ICC it seems to be he's, "forgivness" part, and the one that get to bastion it's the vengeful one.
Part of his soul would have been changed from what it originally was--half of Uther would have been Ascended by the time of Arthas' death. So, the other half would have had nowhere to go; it wouldn't 'mesh' with the first half anymore.
I love that moment of hesitation when Uther was holding Arthas' soul as it shows that he's realizing that he's not being himself (his gaze even changes from shock at what he's about to do), but that extra push got him to do the action that he wouldn't have otherwise.
joshua kim no I think it’s more of him feeling like it was his fault that arthas turned out this way. That’s why he keeps repeating “he was MY student!” It’s less that he wants to see arthas go to the maw more so he feels bad he has to do this due to how arthas “turned out”
@@danieldax2112 The saddest part about that interpretation is that Uther wouldn't be wrong in thinking that. Imagine how much he regrets not staying with Arthas at Stratholme, if not just to stop him from going after Mal'Ganis after knowing just how massive of a catalyst of destruction that choice was.
Yo that animated bit was fucking dope. That’s the kind of shit that I used to love from Blizzard back when I played. Whether they were epic quests with cinematic cutscenes like the WotLK one in Dragonblight, or some of the ones from Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3, and even some of the other supplemental shorts like the one in the beginning of this video. I played warcraft 3 man, I saw it.
I've thought it for years, it was Uther's unwillingness to do what needed to be done that lead arthas down his path, I mean Uther would have just slapped him on the hand and said leave frostmourne tf alone, I was fully expecting the real arthas to come to just before he was dropped, for Uther to somehow see in an instant that there was very little of arthas remaining beneath the helmet of dominance. This is injustice. I'm 1000% just expecting a repeat of the go save jaina storyline from BFA just with arthas in the maw and us realising ilidan style that he's just a badass and we need him. Shadow lands really isn't exciting me at all.
jaine and uther should be more constructive when stratholme thing happened. arthas did what he had to do. uther and jaina abandoned him the moment he needed them the most. and boy the blank space they left was filled by some vile forces.
I would like to see some "redemption" (for lack of a better term) for him, since I subscribe to the camp that Stratholme wasn't a mistake and he was corrupted by Frostmourne. I don't however see why would we need him exactly, since while he did apparently have some talent as a Paladin he wasn't ever particularly powerful on his own was he? I could be wrong, but at least to my understanding his main sources of power were Frostmourne as a death knight, and later the Helm of Domination and fusion with Ner'zul as the Lich King. So I don't really see what could he offer without any of his prior 'tools' or the Light, that others couldn't.
@@Ghostly_One1 Ner'Zul chose him especificly to be his avatar and later on, his vessel. Eh must have seen raw power in him other ways he would just been a mere pawn. The corrupt people to get ionto kingdoms thing was a comon tactic for the Lich King, but he had only one true champion.
This is the argument given by people who don't take responsibilities for their own choices and blames others for not stopping their terrible decisions. Arthas walked down his own damn path, otherwise you take all agency and will away from him, so which is it? You really think Uther could have changed his mind? He wouldn't listen to Jaina either. Arthas had conviction which is why he was able to do things others wouldn't. Don't take that away from him by making Uther culpable. Even if Arthas was judged accordingly, he would have been cast into the maw, no doubt. Uther's vengeful half and Devos fucked up the cycle though.

@@TheMaxCloud Nope. Retcon is not only "changing" the already existing story, but also adjusting it with a new plot. The line "I see only darkness before me" was never planned to stand for a Kyrian coming with justice for Arthas; it's a brand new plotline Blizzard brilliantly introduced. And at the same, it is the first time when such 'retcon' is used correctly :)

@@Wellshem I didn't mean that really, but nice catch :) Arthas, like almost for sure, was never meant to be part of the Shadowlands story. Blizzard cleverly used his dying moments to fit it into a new narrative, which is the part when Uther casts him into the Maw. I wrote this on another reply but I hope this is part of the plan for Shadowlands. I hope that the Arbiter finds out about Uthers judgement of Arthas and looks into his life. And judges him to be worthy of ascension. Then Arthas becoming Uthers student in the afterlife, in some way redeeming what went wrong between them. After finding out about Sylvanus, coming down to intervene and finally put rest to the chaos started by the Lich King. The main baddies being the Arbiter and company trying to stop their interference , and finally the battle with Sylvanus, and us players fighting with them side by side. After that they can both "rest" having gotten their retribution
Only interesting thing in nowadays wow - are references to old characters from old blizzard work. This is really sad. Cause gameplay, lore and stuff like that - became to a boring firework. I miss the old blizzard team. P.S. sry for my eng.
I partially disagree, the lich king and arthas in particular are a character heavily intertwined with the shadowlands just like how gul’dan and Illidan were important figures regarding the burning legion. Bringing back characters gives them a good development past their function instead of having a “ok we killed him in the raid”. Arthas was a dangerous menace for all of azeroth and apparently the shadowlands too so knowing his fate in the one place where it matters is a good thing. Also since the expansion is literally in the land of the dead it makes total sense that us as players would approach familiar faces from legends and history just like anyone would in a new and unknown environment.
Well, it will be fantastic if we will get to see if the two soul parts of uther will encounter together, because you can see how one goes to bastion and one to frostmourne, the one that we see at ICC is the good side of uther, and it seems that the one we see in this short, is the vengeful one, already hyped
This action makes the story of Arthas even more tragic. Corrupted by Frostmourne, then thrown into the Maw, none of this was his fault. Seems like Blizzard hit that "wrath of the lich king emergency" button after what happened with BFA. As much as I hate Blizzard for playing with my heartstrings (when don't they) I think this expansion is worth trying out. Just for that cinematic and it's subsequent wrath lore expansions.
It was his fault that he got to where he is, His lust for vengance against those how corrupted his homeland was so great that he was blinded by the advice everyone around him gave. What if it was Uther that Broke the entire Machine and is how the jailer broke free?
what if Arthas wasn't destined to go to the maw but Uther dropped him in anyway, breaking the ways of Bastion

Would also be cool if the path is a broken system too and they are just a weird cult that wants ppl to join them and wipe all memories of their previous existence :D
I agree with that theory - Uther stating it's justice, when it's clearly vengance is a great theme. Furthermore, a cool guy named Yvenathilm
commented on the blizzaard forum, that Arthas only did commit 3 somewhat reasonable crimes before his soul was taken over - does that mean, that what he did as the Lich King was forgiven, that he should have been brought to Bastion for rehebalitation/redemption or "true justice" instead of being vengefully thrown into the maw? Can't wait for the lore to progress from here.

the blue kyrians are boring. The fallens angels are the interresting ones of the bunch . At least they strive to not be blue robots in a hive mind .
Thats what makes it interesting. if only shadowlands was as good as this cinematic
These cinematics are so good, my favorites so far is either this or the Jaina one in bfa
If there is one thing I have learned, it's that Blizzard are the best in the world at creating hype for an expansion release...
All this happened because Uther, blinded by his need for revenge under the guise of justice, gave Arthas-the very kind of key the Jailer needed to pick his own locks- to the Maw.
this theory make sense
@@filipvadas7602 In a datamined chat after the Bastion storyline is finished, Uther admits that it was revenge, not justice, that made him condemn Arthas to the Maw.

The maw is in uther that's how it broke free from it prison.
there is clearly something broken beforehand because Uther is thrown into the Bastion Path even if his Soul is "broken" and Arthas was wielding the power of the Maw on the mortal realm.

@@UltimateGamerCC im Talking about Sylvanas. Was she a good person before she was stabbed by the lich king ? Do we have any information out of that ?

The one would have never throw Arthas in the maw.

uthers souls broke in two pieces, the one that we see at ICC and this one, the one at ICC it seems to be he's, "forgivness" part, and the one that get to bastion it's the vengeful one.

This is injustice.

Well stop thinking about it so much and just play the game then. You're just ruining it for yourself.
I can already see a future altercation between Arthas and Sylvanas in the Maw.
It was all down hill from there.
OH GOD IT WAS ALL LINKED, when Arthas said "I see only darkness before me" he was talking about the maw!
I hate to break it to you but no, Blizzard didn't foreshadow this 10 years prior. It's called a retcon...
@@acmaiden5236 It doesnt bend the rules to say Arthas saw the Maw when describing "only darkness", so how is it a retcon? We didnt know anything about this "darkness" that he saw.
I would sell my house just to watch the whole history of wow in this form of animation 😂
Insane cinematic one of the best they’ve had 🙌🏼
What if Arthas became the Jailer in all these years ?
Sylvanas would never team up with him of all people.
He secretly replaced the Jailer and is just laughing as Sylvanas plays errand girl.
I have to say the music taking the motifs from wotlk and wc3 and incorporating them is amazing
Uther and the other blue chick: *bypasses the arbiter and throws arthas straight into the maw*
The arbiter: YOU WHAT!?
At 4:04 Uther's soul is split. One part goes to the sword one to Bastion. I wonder if we will see another get those souls back together again questline like Varion. The one we deal with in Bastion looks like the resentful half. The one in Halls of Reflection still embraces the light.
Uther: You dont understand, i still have to...
Devos: *Damn it, Uther! As your future mentor, i order you to purge yourself!*
Uther: Ahh shit, here we go again
I feel the hype. I fucking feel it. The first expansion I am going to play properly, my new PC parts are on the way, no more playing on low spec, I have great hopes for Shadowlands and I will immerse in it. So fucking hyped...
Statistics show that the chance we will see Arthas in the maw at some point is above 0%
More like 100%
Damn that was a quick upload
disappointed in chat.... nobody said "OH SHIT!! Pally popped wings"
5:55 invincible right there in the background POG
5:45 - the very first time in history of WoW, when the retcon is actually justified.
What do you mean retcon
@@TheMaxCloud Nope. Retcon is not only "changing" the already existing story, but also adjusting it with a new plot.
The line "I see only darkness before me" was never planned to stand for a Kyrian coming with justice for Arthas; it's a brand new plotline Blizzard brilliantly introduced.
And at the same, it is the first time when such 'retcon' is used correctly :)
@@camelhoarder850 They left it open-ended so that they could add more too it. That's not a retcon really, the only way it could be is if we had already seen what he saw on the hour of his death.
@@endofexistence2149 From the old knowledge we had of the "shadowlands".
If you die, you find peace.
If you become an undead, you are taken back from it and when you die later, you experience eternal suffering.
Even if its not really fit the rule, Arthas had experienced the eternal suffering as shown in the little story about Sylvanas's suicide from the top of Icecrown Citadel.
This is a retcon.
@@Wellshem I didn't mean that really, but nice catch :)
Arthas, like almost for sure, was never meant to be part of the Shadowlands story. Blizzard cleverly used his dying moments to fit it into a new narrative, which is the part when Uther casts him into the Maw. That's a retcon by definition, even though it doesn't really "change" the story, but adjusts it with a new plotline. Nevertheless, it is still a retcon when you look into a dictionary.
I just noticed when Uther's soul is leaving you can see it split in two. Part of it into the sword and part to the afterlife.
okay, but where is Lothar?
0:28 Asmongold Boss Level knowledge. Completely dissected the environment and situation just from looking at the knee. Fantastic art and sound direction! Why I watch this man, a true fan.
Or what's more likely is that he'd already watched the video and then faked most of his reactions.
@@JohnDoe-dq1bk was livestream with gamescon,so this time,wrong
@@JohnDoe-dq1bk of course, Asmon totally watched the LIVE stream beforehand
Let's be honest, We are going to repair Uther's soul, and we are going go rescue Arthas.
That is exactly what will be
I would honestly love that. lol
jesse west i dont want torescue arthas. Fuck arthas. Uther said there is a special place in hell waiting for you FOR A FUCKING REASON. Someone like him should never be redeemed, rot in hell for fucks sake.
@@spikegamer5143 Gosh I understood why Uther said that in this cinematic is new lore "Light saved my soul" does not happened. But Arthas in maw? forever eternal maybe being redeemed at best for before Arthas mistake even mortality gray purging as well but after took weapon that is Ner'zhul even is Ner'zhul gone idk that on the book game never happen so idk who I follow who but Ner'zhul is real baddie orc necromancer maybe more worst than Gul'dan jealousy, lustful, want conquering, want power kaboom creation Ner'zhul should be there. You also forget this is split soul Uther lol so he be Kyrian justice while the real one Uther while on ICC Uther actually forgave him, he knows about Arthas soul and how Frostmourne works done it deal off. Even Uther struggle "He was my student" cause it a different souls anyway and not the real Uther. You making sound like as if you the type of person want extreme Justice nah Vengeance all the way for only 50% he done and not making the real one 100% who happened to be baddie and most evilish way should be there wow no way sounds unfair in my opinion. I am sorry I wouldn';t be even friends who think like that geez.
@@spikegamer5143 Do remember that Arthas was heavily corrupted. He didn’t have much of a say in what happened after he was tricked into picking up Frostmourne
This is one of the all-time best WoW cinematics
Two things: 1. The Archon is in on it with the Jailer. 2. Bastion seems way more badass now.
Maybe the Archon just wanted to maintain order.
God if only man. If only.
I think Asmon's silence throughout the trailer was testament to the fact that this was an amazing trailer! He was hooked
I think cuse the show was live xd
Lol I just got done watching Giant Bomb and Easy Allies reactions, and everyone was bored to shit and complaining about how long this animation was! I understand not being captivated if you don't play Wow, but it's Uther goddamn Lightbringer! All these guys played WC2 and 3, I think it is a big deal.
The problem is since they don't play they probably have no idea this is the first time Uther has "been back" since like 2002.
My only problem with it is it makes no sense for Uther to be alone in a field. Should have had him emerging from like a pile of Undead he had just decimated, or amongst all of his men Arthas just slaughtered.
the fuck? if you're bored by this then you clearly have no appreciation for any of these characters, which is fine, but don't pretend it's because it's bad.
at last
after all this time waiting . . . .
he is back
the king is back
now we will see the 4th paladin class tank-healer-damage . . . and ( the one coming withe Arthas )
thank you blizzard . . . .
Wait...ARE WE GONNA SAVE ARTHAS :DDD
But wait.. val'kyrs can get in and out the maw?? Sylvanas said she saw Arthas as a kid when she jumped from the top of ICC until one val'kyr took her place in the shadowlands right?
Maybe it's because they have wings?
I would want to have a definite answer but I think I'm going to stick with this one.

This dude's soy face is priceless. Adblock, Ublock, you win yet again. Thank you for ensuring no $$ from me goes to this clown.
This was amazing!
did invincible drop?- hhahaha brings past memories
The only part I dont think was his own fault was when he "purged" the city and Uther and Jaina left him, it literally was the only option and he was left alone for it.
@@Vermilion-sol Perhaps the vengeance part was his fault, but everything else, no. Especially if you consider that there was a part of him that was always there as a Death Knight, as evidenced by Jaina and her locket quest.
Please, don't make Arthas look like an innocent child. He committed great mistakes and that's what makes his story good.
@@PrinceVega Except those mistakes were always influenced with frostmourne's will. If you can't accept that bit of information, than that's your problem.
@mistsofthenexus76 Everything up to Frostmourne he was in control, fully believing that it was the key to saving his kingdom, and that any price was worth it.
When he took the blade up, it was his action, he was not forced by the blade or controlled by the blade to take it, it was his own mistake and no one else.
Did you think... He had forgotten? Did you think... He had forgiven?!
