The reports on this car made me switch my order from a Boxster GTS 4.0 to this one. And I save a cool 40K doing it. Let's not kid ourselves it's not as dynamic as the Porsche but I was not going to track the car anyway. It is at least 8/10ths as good and that is fine by me.
I have one with the ZF auto. It's a great car. You sum it up well as an all round ownership proposition. That's one thing that attracted me to the car alongside the performance and the looks.
Stop building it up.... I don't want to see a million of them on the road alongside mine like Vette owners have to deal with LoL. A big part of their appeal besides just how great they are... is their rarity. I LOVE manual transmissions... I had a 2022 Z4 M40I ZF and just traded it in... awaiting my build of a 2025 Z4 M40i manual and I'm counting the days... supposed to be getting a Jan 2025 delivery of mine and I CAN'T WAIT. Meanwhile... I've been living vicariously through the reviews, which, like yours, have been very positive. As I said, I LOVE MANUALS so I've felt relieved with the reviewer's responses as I was hoping I wasn't making a mistake leaving the ZF..... Thanks 👍
Question - You mentioned you'd previously driven the z4 M40i with the ZF8.. The Handschalter 6sp states it has revised suspension and steering from the AT ZF 8sp M40i. How would you describe the differences in those two tunings? BTW...I agree with you on the frozen paints...look good when new Frozen Deep Green over Cognac is.a winning combination but that frozen paint is so susceptible to "gloss" marks...like the one I saw yesterday in the local BMW showroom. If I wanted that "effect"; I think I'd opt for full matt PPF versese the frozen paint.
Can you remove (or raise/lower) that rear windscreen? Looks like it's not there from some of your rear shots into the interior. All other reviews I've seen, it's always in place.
@@espinhasantos In fact, I'd not opt for the extra cost, high maintenance frozen paint and just have matt PPF applied...would not need to be concerned about "glossy" frozen paint spots and have the benefit of PPF protection. A better use of the Frozen paint option dollars IMO.
I subscribed based upon viewing this one review. Excellent job...Keep them coming.

Ordered one in August for October. Can't wait!

Great review! Just 1 correction - B58 is a single turbo
Yes, twin scroll.

I just got one and fuck it is smoking hot
Thank you. Subscribed and if or when I can afford one I will get in manual. I drive a manual 6 speed Mazda 6 diesel. Such a good long distance car.
You can turn off the rev matching in the "Sport Individual" mode settings.
I can't turn it off in my 2018 340i :(
You don't like Honda shifters? I have never heard anyone say that.

Yes..the center mesh portion is removeable.
Dam* there are a lot of Petro Canada’s on that route 😂
I'm not familiar with BMW ride...what is a 'rubbery' feel?
Believe he's referring to the manual transmission "feel"...
It’s something like 358 HP
Ur lucky ur just testing the car because the frozen paint is a complete nightmare
Totally agreed, keeping that paint clean (and free of water spots!) is a full time job.
Mandatory application of PPF.👍

It looks like an uglier version of the Fiat 124. But still better than the rest of their offer.
No performance specs? No drivetrain details? HP? Torque? Definitely thumbs down.
You used more effort writing that comment than it would take to Google those specs.
