Nice Simon! Excited, and enjoyed watching while waiting for the doorbell to ring. Mine is due to be delivered any time in the next couple of hours. You got me wondering now if the weight bag is sold seperately as an optional extra? Fingers crossed! I can do without unpleasant surprises or unnecessary delays.
Should one leg of the tripod be pointing north before polar alignment? I'm wondering if the AM5 /ASI Air Plus assumes the legs are in a certain rotation to avoid the telescope hitting them during median flips.
Doesn't really matter - the ASIAIR needs roughly pointing at your pole and you move the AM5 body but the tripod legs are not assumed to be in any position
What is the diameter of the adapter plate? Curious is it would fit on my SkyWatcher HEQ5 tripod. If not, wonder how best to mount the AM5 on that tripod.
That tripod seems awfully short. I believe it is only 31 inches tall at its highest(?) Are you comfortable with that height? Do you need the pier to make the height right for you?

@@TeamAstroworkz Yep I can confirm that now :) A really nice piece of kit.

For like $25 without shipping
@@again5t.your53lf6 Who sells it? Hold on.... I'm looking for the Other Way Around. HEQ5 steel tripod to AM5 mount.
Can you get adjustable feet (screw thread) for the tripod?
ZWO don't sell them but aftermarket may - the ends of the legs have a standard thread - I screwed in a set of points for use on grass easy enough :)

I do use a pier on mine to ensure the scope / filter wheel does not impact the tripod legs - I have not found the actual tripod size to be an issue
