It's completely optional. It does not harm the core sim experience in any way. This is just a little fun item you can play around if you like when you're not doing serious flights, some people, even real pilots enjoy doing that from time to time. If you don't like it, just don't download it, the rest of the simulator will continue working as expected. Also, these fictional aircraft are marketing opportunities that probably help pay for all the frequent simulator updates you get for free, so stop complaining for no reason. :)
Flying a 747 or an F/A-18 isn't fantasy? And Flight Simulator has always been a game for all ages. Tons of us first got exposed to simming when we were kids.

Fun to fly. Faster than Passenger airliner, but not as fast as F35! just right! Nose diving from 25k feet to 3000 is great
