You are doing a great job, do not be hard on yourself for being optimistic. Volcanologists argue among themselves about this stuff all the time and the only thing that you can say for sure is what happened yesterday. Tomorrow will be what it will be.

They study, they don't predict anything, that's not the main objective of their job.

If he is worried, there are plenty of safe areas to the East and North. The biggest town on La Palma is over there.

I just pray the volcano will go to sleep. I love watching Bushcraft Bear daily and the volcano news is important, but I am ready for it to be over and be able to see daily adventures and scenes from La Palma.

It shows just what a positive attitude BcB has had over the weeks but the quiet day yesterday gave hope and he allowed himself to believe it was coming to an end. Unfortunately the volcano gave false hope

Fair enough...I write slightly on the romantic side. People can push back against the power the volcano has over them though, using positive thinking and in the case of BCB using prayer for strength.

Bushcraft, I watch your report everyday. You just keep doing what your doing. You report what you see at the time. Many sit on their coach, looking at graphs, judging you. They are in a right fight. You live there. This must be extremely difficult for you , yet you hold your head high each day. Many prayers go out for you and all the people of La Palma.

The lava has has destroyed or partially destroyed more than 2000 buildings, including homes and farming infrastructure! To me ...that must be disastrous to the people affected!

If you are really moved to help, then "prayers" are the worst choice. Does nothing for them, but makes you feel like you DID something. I'd be more impressed if you launched a fundraising push to get people to donate to the legitimate established relief agencies.

Double blind tests have shown that there is no difference in outcomes between people who don't know they are being prayed for, and those who weren't having any prayers said. There was a very small increase in the death rate of people who were prayed for and KNEW it.
I certainly was coming down on the side of NOT forming a bundle of grifting websites. You can efficiently provide assistance to people afflicted by all sorts of disasters around the world with a donation to Doctors without Borders, Red Cross, Red Crescent, entities with credentials and credibility.

When I lived in Alaska back in 1970, earthquakes frightened my family at first. After several months of them, waking up with your bed rattling across the floor became our new normal.

Kilauea on Hawaii had an eruption lasting 35 years. Eldfell (Heimaey, Iceland), lasted 5 months. Eruptions of different volcanoes last for differing timescales.
@Troof Tent bit simplified. When a part of the earth's upper mantle or lower crust melts, magma forms. A volcano is essentially an opening or a vent through which this magma and the dissolved gases it contains are discharged. Although there are several factors triggering a volcanic eruption, three predominate: the buoyancy of the magma, the pressure from the exsolved gases in the magma and the injection of a new batch of magma into an already filled magma chamber.(Attila Kilinc, head of the geology department at the University of Cincinnati).

Having watched your afternoon and evening videos for probably the last 55 days of this 60 day event, I don't know how to convey to you, just how important your humanizing of actual events is to the rest of the world (btw, my favs are your reading of Psalms on Fridays). YOU ARE making a difference in the world. You are honest, you are genuine, you give other humans true information and some of the most beautiful photography I have seen in my lifetime (and I'm 65 so that is saying a lot).
I get it, you get overwhelmed. You want it to be over and suddenly, it is not over. You stand strong on the island undergoing change.
How exhausting this must be for you and your people, from constantly cleaning the ash, the sound, the constant threat, the earthquakes from up to down!

Because of your report, we have a balanced infirmation of the situation on the Palma, the city, the volcano, the ash, the people cleaning, the lava streams... without this wide view one would imagine an absolute disaster (Pompeyo style, Gid protect la Palmas) or take it to lightly. And in no way I am diminishing the volcanos danger or the material losses. But you are showing us a very important thing. La Palmas habitants are strong. Human are squishy but we also are stubborn, creative, hard workers,... to survive even against some odds that we cant change. Yes we can get used to earthquakes. Thats what made us get here. My God protect all people specially on La Palma.

Something tells me that as this land holds one of the youngest volcanoes on earth, and being so young probably has less resistance to pressure build up , I think this will continue for many weeks to come , let’s pray that the latest pressure releases have given way to less serious eruptions

The volcano is old. This particular vent is young. It's like a 15 year old boy discovering a new pimple. The boy is old, the pimple is much younger.
