It was in the middle of a Northeast winter, I let my car go for weeks on end without washing it because of the bitter cold, it was a black car and when I went to pick my car up I was convinced it wasn’t my car! They gave me a “courtesy wash”, they must have used one of those brushes and it looked like someone sanded my car. I won’t ever make that mistake…

    7:00 TIP FOR PROPER MIX: Before I start working with liquid polish or any other liquid that is an emulsion, I shake them then turn the bottles upside down. An hour before I work. Then I give them a quick shake again before starting. I do the same with any spray paint can.

      @@dragonwithak6051 It depends on the products viscosity. Also the type of emulsion. The product is in it's bottle for a long time and deposits can and will accumulate in the bottom. Would like to see you do some very faded headlights to see how to make them back to like new. Ones that are a little bit out of just polishing out and needing a sanding first and the step by step guide to get rid of the oxidation

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад +1

      You could do the same on headlights too, but keep in mind, neglected headlights that are heavily yellowed, oxidized and/or have a hazy/chalky white appearance, typically need more polishing techniques. Water sanding, compound, polish, IPA wipe and a ceramic coating applied is usually the best restoration method.
      If they headlights are only lightly faded, and you don't have the time or all the tools for a full restoration, you can also use a quick tool-less method like in my headlight restoration tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/sqpXsBcVako/видео.html

    Ce genre de vidéo, c'est ce que je préfère (la technique) est-ce que cette étape peut être faite en même temps que le polissage du véhicule en entier ou elle doit être séparé? MERCI Pan!

    • @Akuroxradio
      @Akuroxradio Год назад

      J'avais la même question

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад +1

      Ce type de polish "all-in-one" est pour ceux qui veulent une étape de polissage et protection en un seul produit. Évidemment, la protection n'est pas conçue pour être hyper durable. Elle durera entre 6 à 12 mois. C'est parfait pour un usage sur les phares arrières comme dans cette vidéo.
      Aussi, le puissance de coupe de ce polish est minime. Donc si ta carrosserie a de légères rayures ou de mineurs tourbillons, tu peux utiliser pour corriger et protéger. Mais pour tout scénario de rayures profondes ou gros tourbillons ou beaucoup d'oxidation, vaut mieux commencer par un compound, ensuite un polish, un IPA puis une céramique.
      Mais si tu utilises le UNO oui tu peux polir la carrosserie et les phares en une seule opération.

    Hello Pan, thank you for all your videos and instructions.
    I have a question for you. I bought a brand new Mazda CX-5 last February. How can I protect my head lights and tail lights?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад

      Congrats on your new CX-5. You would apply the same protection as your paint. Ideally a long lasting ceramic coating. That will prevent the lights from oxidizing and yellowing over time.
      A new car is never new until it's properly detailed.
      - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example.
      - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
      - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
      - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
      - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat.
      If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well.
      I explain all of this in this popular video: ruclips.net/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/видео.html
      So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car from two of my customers:
      Aston Martin Vantage: ruclips.net/video/OKga3yZVTqo/видео.html

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад +1

      A true coating (glass bottle) would certainly last longer. But if you want to apply a true coating, it has to bond directly to the surface, and not on top of the Uno Advance.
      So if you want longer lasting protection, might as well do the entire procedure to perfection, meaning:
      water sanding, compound, polish, IPA wipe and a ceramic coating applied is usually the best restoration method.
      That's if the headlights are really faded/oxidized. If they're in good shape, then a light polish with something like Sonax Perfect Finish, followed by a paint prep spray (like CarPro Eraser) and then the ceramic coating is perfectly acceptable.

    Awesome demonstration. The tail light looks great. If you own your car for many years and take care of it about how many times can you polish it? You only have so much clear coat?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад

      Ideally, you would apply a true ceramic coating on it (that lasts for years) and do proper maintenance washes yourself that way you won't have any swirls or scratches if you use safe washing and drying methods.
      But if you vehicle goes through tunnel washes, gets washed at the dealership, or you use improper washing and drying methods, you will have to polish often. How much is impossible to tell, as it will vary between car makes, models, etc.
      You could also decide to have a paint protection film applied to them so they resist scratches and swirls.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Месяц назад

      Yes absolutely. Depending on how bad the oxidation/yellowing of your headlights is. If they are heavily oxidized, you'd have to start with either water sanding, or a heavier cutting polish first, then move to a finishing polish, and ceramic coating application.

    As always great video! I have always wondered why when doing headlights does everyone remove all the original coating? Why not use this same process?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад +1

      Thanks!
      So when the headlights are heavily damaged, the water sanding will remove the clear coat, so you can start fresh and remove the oxidized clear coat which has failed at that point.

    Wow! Amazing results, my car looks the same in certain areas because of the dealer's crappy tunnel washes, even though I asked them not to wash it! Is this new uno polish just as good on paint?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Год назад

      Yes Rupes Uno Advanced is as good on paint, as long as you know its limitations. This is an all-in-one type polish, meant to correct light imperfections, swirls and scratches. If you have severe deeper scratches/swirls and heavy oxidation, it's best to use the traditional method of compound, polish, IPA wipe and then ceramic coating.

      Not recommended on any type of protected paint, as that's a very high pH shampoo and it could start weakening the coating, and it can break down waxes and sealants.

    Hi Pan, a great video again! Unfortunately I've tried a little hand application and buffing as suggestsed from my Soft 99 microcompound light instructions on my Bmw g42 tailights, and it got a lot worse, did what the producer told on the packaging.. Dont know what to do, the car was clean 😭 it would be hard to do with a machine polisher, that's why I bought the microcompound light wich has little cutting power 🥲

    • @victoryensured7137

      Applicaton was with a microfibre towel as it was the black part of the taillight (really slim part that's why I didn't use the applicator from the producer)

    In winter before a snow storm/icing event the state will spray on a dry road surface anti-icing liquid magnesium chloride which encourages cars to rust. The outdoor temperature now is 35° I have a 2 gallon pump sprayer which can be purchased at most gardening stores to add chemical to spray for bugs, if I put plain hot tap water in that 2 gallon container and spray inside the wheel wells to melt accumulated ice and dilute and rinse that chemical and also spray along the bottom half of the car doors is that a good or bad idea? Also seven months ago I properly prepped and applied Gyeon can coat and two weeks later topped it off with Gyeon Q2 wax and believe both are truly in place by the way the water runs off. TIA.

    I cringe when the dealer mentions that they will wash the car free with service. I specifically ask them not to and make sure they write that on the service order before I leave. The one dealership has an automated car wash they use afterwards.. no thanks. The few I have dealt with have all been great and have not washed the vehicle as per my request. Great video btw, tail lights look great afterwards. I'm going to try UNO Protect on my daily to test longevity.
