Beautiful as always! Def going to be visiting. One thing I can never do on my island is trap my villagers by their houses. Villagers can’t hop or climb so they just wander aimlessly around their yards if you don’t give them a way to walk away. Now they do mysteriously teleport other places randomly when you load the game or at certain times, but I still feel too guilty. Lol. I’ve seen some beautiful islands with this feature, but I kind of messed up a waterfall on my island just so Reneigh had a way down. :D
You never cease to amaze me. And watching you and others build your islands has intimidated me with trying to build up my own. That whole "analysis paralysis" deal--don't know what I want to do.
If it helps i started just laying out path lines in stone or dirt (depending on footstep sound i want) even if only 1 wide to start (i like 2-3 wide paths personally) so i can see the layout i am picturing better. Custom paths can go on top of preset paths so if i want a different look later i just layer it but then i at least know what i want for my path layout already If i find an item that fits my idea (even if not exactly the right one or its the wrong color) i place it so i can also see spacially what it looks like and how it feels to run around on my island with it (Sometimes something looks nice but is really in the way for me so i either terraform/repath or move the item) Just small things at a time. I also added two other playable players since i only have me and my bf who use my switch to add the two houses for design elements. My 1st extra house is a farm area and the second will be like a mario castle theme area.
Love the way you used inclines! Gah I wish Nintendo would give us a maximum of 20 inclines; I would totally use them all. Even 15 inclines would be amazing

This island is so beautiful Lex! It’s making me get inspired for my mixed cottagecore/farmcore/forestcore aesthetic island and love the little shrine area. As my resident services is scooted to the right and is not central to my airport I might do something as simple as the mini island in front of it. I’ve made a really cute entrance however I might change it at a later stage. ❤

Could someone please explain to me how people have multiple islands? Google says you’d need multiple switches. But I feel like I’ve seen creators talk about their different islands and stuff as if they have multiple, and it’s like they have a few islands that are different themes. I don’t want to start my island over but I’m wondering if or how to have multiple islands.
I personally have two switches, one which houses this island (Lórien) and one that has had multiple islands, including Lost Falls, Antillia, and Zinnia. Unfortunately I achieve this by deleting each island as I complete it. There’s no way to have multiple islands at the same time with one switch. Most of us content creators just restart/flatten to begin a new island theme. On the bright side, your dream address survives if you restart, so I can still visit my old islands in dreams.

@@MadisonDeetes you have to lie down in a bed and choose to sleep! That will send you to Luna, who allows you to create a dream address. I’m not sure if you have to have a Nintendo switch online subscription to make a DA, but you need one in order to visit dream addresses.
I'm a couple of weeks into starting a new island, and then tested positive for COVID this morning. I'm wondering if anyone else has has a similar situation and somehow starts to feel like keeping a healthy distance from my villagers. *silly rabbit* 😊

What I do when that happens is yes, bust out my shovel and get digging. And yeah, selling them can get you a good wad of cash. My family has two switches and one island I have totally forgotten and I it is covered in flowers.😑 I should follow my own advice...😳
