So clear! I've watched a few other videos about this cast on, but only yours showed clearly how to do that last ducking-under motion to place the new stitch on the needle so it can be tightened. Thanks! My tip: When I'm casting on, I place a marker every 10 stitches. I just need to count to 10 over and over again, making it much easier to not lose my place, and it's easy to check how many I have by quickly counting the groups of 10. I remove the markers while knitting the first row.
Thank you sooooo much! I found myself pulling the tail through a few times before threading it into the work. Great to see that a few deft steps as you've shown and the job is done perfectly.
I love this cast on and is the one I use 95% of the time. Now the tip for disguising the join is what I have been looking for! Thank you so very much for your clear video 👍👍🇨🇦
I’ve not seen anyone do that part with the tail except the one video I watched originally. It makes such a difference in the join! Thanks for sharing it.
This procedure makes a perfect join for German twisted cast on. I don’t have to do anything to the join when I am finished with my project except weave in the ends. Thanks for posting😊
I have watched many videos trying to learn this Twisted cast on stitch with no success. After watching your video, I can say I have learned how to do this cast on. Thank you!!!
It suddenly dawned on me cry so many of these dog breed and dug training videos say that mental stimulus, food puzzles, and games can wear your dog out just as much as a long long walk or exercise can. They say it's too expanded energy so they won't be troublesome. Well, my eyes and mind are doing mental calisthenics right now, following this cast-on tutorial. I am growing tired and just know I'll behave the house and not chew up the furniture or master's shoes. I'll sleep well, and have twisted dreams of rabbits...snared in this cast-on. Food for thought. lol.
Excellent demonstration. I use this cast on, but I have never cast on the extra stitch. I will be adding this to my bag of tricks. Will talk about it on my next podcast. If you have an easy way to do the pin hole cast on that would be amazing. Thanks Lena. ❤
Thank you, Lisa! Well I believe I do have my new way , easier way to do the pinhole cast on. I will definitely put in on the list of all the technical videos I plan to record this or next month. I do not use it often but let me record it and see what you think about 😬
Thank you! The pink one is Shibui Murmur. The one i cast on with is Universal yarn worsted. Unfortunately I cant check the details. I am nowhere close it it at this point. 😂
I love the way you hold your needles when knitting and purling do you have a tutorial for that. Holding needles and yarn are so important for gauge and relaxed hand , thank you
Hello! I do not have a tutorial for that. I might record it in the future but for the time being I am not releasing videos or patterns due to health issues.
Such a clear and easy to follow! Just one question about the project itself- I LOVE the ribbing- was it k1p1? Or was it possibly k1p2? My k1p1 never looks this nice haha
Yes you absolutely can! I do it. it's not as easy and straight forward, but when you have your stitches cast on on two needles and ready to join work for Magic Loop, just pull the cable from the right needle between first two stitches on the right needle, creating a magic loop effect on the right needle with the first stitch and only stitch on the right needle tip and the rest on the cable at the back of the work. then, transfer this stitch from the right needle onto the left and pass the second stitch on the left needle over the first. slip the first stitch on the left needle onto the right needle. Tada! Seamlessly joined!
If using German twisted cast on, can that be used when knitting straight back and forth ? sometime there is always a bigger stitch at the end' Thank you
Great question! YES IT CAN! What you need is a good technique of edge stitches. You will have to play with it, you can twist the last stitch and tighten it up a bit. same with the first stitch when you come to it. You can also use a DISTITCH method for the edge stitches and they will come out very even. Assia Brill is the inventor and she has a lot of good videos on this technique. Look up a few videos here on RUclips for the edge stitches. I will try to record mine in the near future.
I just learned this technique but not the part where you bring the yarn through the little triangle to complete the stitch! What I’m wondering: if you add one stitch, does it disappear in the join or do you always have an extra stitch to think about in the pattern?
This is the third video I watched but it’s the first one that clearly shows where you pull the last yo through. Now I have it! Thank you
Me too!
Best video ever for casting on and joining in the round. Thanks for sharing!
Perfect! I saw two English women demonstrate this technique many years ago and I had forgotten. Your demonstration and voice helped tremendously.

This is the clearest video I have seen on the German twisted rib and the joining in the round is excellent! Thank you!!

Thank you for your excellent video. Very clear, good use of the camera. Soothing voice.
What a clear and easy explanation! Thank you for posting. ❤

I am so glad you liked it!!!
Thank you for successfully teaching me this technique.
What a precious video.
Lovely! And so clever! I had seen a video of creating an extra stitch, but using the tail to smooth out the join is just brilliant! Thank you!
Excellent! I've been struggling with the join for so long. Thank you for a brilliant tutorial. ❤
Thank you so much for this excellent demonstration!
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic tutorial. Thank you so much.

6:28 reference for me too. How to join seamlessly in the round, using that extra stitch and flipping the tail and stitches back and forth!! Excellent
Thank you so much, this way of casting on looks good because there seems to be a lot better control of tension which gives a great start to knitting 😊
wow I am so amazed at this! lol I have been looking for a technique to join the round with German cast on! thank you!
Hi Lena, I watched this when it came out. I just wanted to check on you, I hope you are feeling OK and that you’re feeling better soon. 😊
Thank you! Still in pain and waiting for results and doctors. But hopeful that it will get better soon.
Beautifully done!😃
This is great, thank you❤
Brilliant. Thank you!
Thankyou so much, it was so easy to follow and very informative. ❤
Thank you love this. So keen to try it on my next project. You made it so good to follow?
i love to learn new elegant maneuvers to refine my knitting ... video so well done thanx so much ... and after seeing this how could I not subscribe!

Thank you so much this is an excellent video
Gorgeous!
This was very helpful as well as super neat finishing! ClaudiaSJI
This is really perfect! It is impossible to tell where the join is.
Excellent tutorial. Just the right pace. Good visual and instruction. What is this yarn please?
Thank you! The pink one is Shibui Murmur. The one i cast on with is Universal yarn worsted. Unfortunately I cant check the details. I am nowhere close it it at this point. 😂
Thank you!
Hello, can I ask what stitch you are using in the pink item that you are knitting, it is beautiful?
I love the way you hold your needles when knitting and purling do you have a tutorial for that. Holding needles and yarn are so important for gauge and relaxed hand , thank you

Thank you for going so slowly
can I use this cast on when doing magic loop? I'm wondering how the joining will work if not working on needles but cord when must join . Thank you

She shows you in the video what to do (pass a stitch over) so you do not have an extra stitch. You need to watch it again.
Perfect
I ended up with an extra stitch that was added. Was there a decrease of that stitch that I missed?
Yes, I also ended up with an extra stitch. Dont know what went wrong…
I got it ❤️🇨🇦
Is it stretchy please?
Yes, it's stretchy.
