Biggest thing I learned as 7 years middle blocker was reading the readiness of the players. During a scramble after a pass usually 1 or 2 players will be primed for an attack, then check which player setter is closer to, I'd say 70% they'll set the closer player because it's easier. Then reading the squaredness of their shoulders and the angle of their arm. If they're square on to the net it's likely a line hit. If they're coming to the net at an angle it's likely an angle hit. Hope this helps!
I would never want to play another position than middle. I love the explosive speed and quick decision making. Tearing the opponents defence apart and shuting their offence down is the best feeling in volleyball :D
Takes a special mindset to be a middle, and a strong body. The more powerful you are, the greater the threat you pose to the other team, the more likely your setter delivers the ball to the outside after you have drawn your opposing blocker (or blockers). You jump every time the ball crosses the net in either direction, and the outside hitter gets all the glory. Of course, in compensation you have way more opportunities to kill-block than the others.
Or, getting down and playing floor defense if you get faked on a quick and can't make it to the outside in time....anything but floating in the air laterally. LOL
Thank you for the video. Yesterday while We were driving to the volleyball match I watched your videos regarding the block and executed These new ideas in the game. Worked really Well and We won the game 3-0. So Keep up the good work. 💪🙌
I'm a middle blocker as well and the most difficult thing for me is to read where the attacker is going to spike to direct my block. I've read many times "look at the shoulders", but everything happens so fast that I am more focused on seeing who's going to attack.
Well it is not easy to answer in one comment😀 Focus more on blocking and attacking from middle, read more setter, fasten your feet, be calm and aggressive👍

As a setter, hey middles, go ahead and try to watch me and my tendencies. If I'm running an in system play that makes you move one way or another (i.e. my middle hitting a 31) I am watching YOU for when you move. If you follow my middle, I'm setting a 93. If you stay put, I'm setting the 31. If I see the outside blocker trying to cheat in to cover that 31, I"m setting a shoot so the OH can bounce line on you. Be careful going against setters that watch you before they get the pass. You will get burned.
as a short middle blocker that jumps high i get so tired after constantly running for quicks and then straight after going to block and rinse and repeating
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis should all play middle blocker position in volleyball since they are extremely tall for their age and will end up being extremely tall as adults. 🏀🏐

While doing the middle block i kinda can’t move my legs to other sides and skip the block everytime can anyone tell me any exercise or a tip regarding 😭
Learning how to read the opposing team's plays well allows you to start the approach earlier and get the block up more often and higher. It's a really difficult but rewarding skill

Watch the ball, not the hitter.
@@lucasgeorgge some say look into eyes of hitter
@@lucasgeorgge absolutely not
@@lucasgeorggeu should basically never look at the ball besides timing
