Well, Shane can't tell a kid what its like to grow up on the South side of Chicago, but I can tell you what its like to grow up on the West side and the tale was the same. In 86, I was on that downward spiral and my path was simple - I had to get the fuck out of Chicago. The Army offered me that path, and I wanted to get as far away from Chicago as possible....all the way to Europe, and I didn't look back. I came back to see mom, dad and grandma, but I had no intention to return to live. I improvised, adapted and overcame (as the Marines would say). I survived, progressed and succeeded. Others can to. Its not impossible. Just believe in yourself and others will to. You can do it! Love what you're doing Big Herc, keep that motivation flowing!

I was reading some studies and basically the younger brain literally struggles to connect actions and consequences , ppl think it's an evolved trait too allow people to hunt and fight better way back in the day when people were evolving. It's why you can show a teenager a million pieces of evidence of why to do a certain thing and Jones off it will stick

Yup, use to work at Maxwells on independence blvd by Douglas park. The one closer to the police station. Windows being busted, short change artists, racism, constant car crashes, the list goes on. I got a ton of funny stories. God bless the men who work there, it’s really work. You gotta be quick quick and professional to feed the crowds that come by.

Unless it’s a pedophile and the shorties are at risk, anybody and everybody should be expected to go there, no tellin somebody necessary.
