Yet again a massive thanks to you Adam , and as usual a big thank you to all your followers who always give very kind comments, until the next one, eye , lol
Thank you both, Paul and Adam for another fantastic video and giving us an amazing history lesson on these iconic cars, it's really appreciate. Keep up the good work guys.
Another great video guys, really good to hear the history behind these cars, and I do have the money just not the space, I really need to get a unit or garage built to start a little collection.
I know there was the xr4 and sapphire 4x4, but did ford try making the rs500 3door 4 wheel drive
Sounds epic I'd love to get my sweaty mits behind the wheel on track what a blast that would be, my lotto numbers come up this week I'll be down to see you Paul ......nice one love listening to you boys talk Cossie
how long before you give him a go in one then Paul 🤔
I could happily listen to Paul for hours on end thanks for taking the time to make the videos
Another great video mate. Pauls knowledge of these cars is unreal could listen to him all day talk about them
I say the same every time, I would love to sit and have a brew and a chat with him if only to sit and listen to his amazing knowledge and stories.
and the same goes for me, after watching all those cars race years ago its fascinating listening to Paul giving us a history lesson on them .
Paul is unreal. I could listen to him all day. Class video Adam.
Paul is an absolute superstar and thanks to him the Cossie race and road cars are safe and will never be forgotten! Paul is like the RSPCA for the Cossie.! He has an uncanny knack of keeping your attention as he goes through the spec and history - A trip to Paul's is fascinating!
It's Barclay tobacco, not card so could be missing due to tobacco advertising laws. Sponsored Williams at the same time.
Came here to post the same info mate!!!!
Thanks for that info . always great to learn something
The stuff of childhood dreams chaps, absolutely brilliant content as ever 👏 👌
Hi Adam and Paul, another beautiful RS500 and with history. Great, interesting video, thanks again Paul for sharing your knowledge and Adam for travelling to make the video. Brilliant viewing guy's. Alex.
Now that's passion Paul knowing all the difference between road race cars like an dictionary for cosworths
Proper flames and pops coz it's a proper car. Love these collaboration videos with Paul & urself. 👊👍✌ frm the south
Another awesome video and epic content, a pleasure to watch. Just a point to note the main sponsor was Barclay which was a cigarette brand and not Barclay Card. I suspect the omission of Barclay that you referenced, was due to anti cigarette advertising laws. IIRC, Barclay also sponsored Arrows in F1.
Awesome stuff.
Massive Thanks to you and Paul, could listen to him all day.
Awesome video! Love the passion and the attention to detail!
I could happily listen to Paul all day
Oh Paul’s shut the door this time Adam…one step closer to letting ya loose driving one! 🤣
I absolutely love Cossies. Keep up Gods work Adam. Loving all your content.
Some serious money sitting in there ! 😉👍🏻👏👏👏
What the cars or Paul? 🤣
@@crossy7225 both lol 🤣🤣
Watching from germany, love your videos, Adam. I read the story bout putting weight in them Cossies at DTM long time ago, lol
If I ever won the lottery the first car I’d buy is an rs500. Was a cosworth local to me years ago in moonstone blue and looked amazing
Savage video lads, I would listen to Paul all day always been a big M Car fan but Paul would definitely get you into the fast ford's
An absolutely lovely video, the car sounds great, well-done chaps. The best bit for me was when Paul gives a little grin, and shuts the door, and Adam chuckles.
Another brilliant video Adam could listen to Paul all day long
How many Cossies does Paul have ?
Thanks for the video Adam. Great listening to Paul. He's a proper jedi on old ford racing 🏁 wish I had 150k 🤯
What a treasure trove of the Great Times of touring car history and you guys do an awesome job of explaining about where the cars came from thanks to u both. shit I wish I had the money to buy that car man and if I did i would have to park it outside me flat 😩 and I don't think that would be a good idea lol 😂
Beautiful and another great background story from Paul!
There is a Wolf built Sierra RS500 Cosworth Group A Touring Car here in New Zealand
Peanut slab
Yup it lives in Christchurch owned by a fellow by the name of Peter Sturgeon
I agree , Paul grabs your attention with his knowledge. And he's honest, 👍 good work Adam
Top video mate love the old touring cars and its awesome for Paul let’s you come in and do stories on the cars wish some type of videos would happen here in Australia
It's impressive how much Paul knows about these cars. If Paul doesn't know it it's not worth knowing it. !!!
As ever thank you Adam/Paul, absolutely brilliant as ever 😎😎
That Barclay livery is nowt to do with Barclays Bank or Barclaycard gents.
Barclay was a cigarette brand and they had F1 sponsorship deals too, including smaller decals on the side of the driver’s pod on one of the Williams cars around the same time that this Sierra would have been competing. 👍🏻
What a dream 2 own something like that I remember goung 2 brands hatch watching touring cars they were just the best 👌 👍
Don’t think I’ve told Paul but he’s in my lottery syndicate, as in if I win he’ll get a big chunk and the bonus of some spare garage space. What a collection of cars!
Also, search ‘Tiff Needell RS500’ think it was his Top Gear days taking his Labbatts RS500 rounds Brands, don’t think it would fall in to the category of relaxing drives, each lap was a wrestling match😂
another class video lads, nice one.
Paul seem's such a genuine decent guy.
Another brilliant video !!!!!👍🇦🇺
Another superb touring car 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 if only i had 150k kicking about 😂
Do you know pal...these episodes with Paul are some of my favourite, and I've never had a Cossie,, I'm a vag man thru and thru..
Be nice to see some old MK1/MK2 golfs on Adam lad
Great content as always guys
paul,`s mint could talk to that man for days
Yet another top vlog from the boys as usual, just love these cars, I reckon the drivers of these cars with the steering set back as it is, must have had arms like an orangutan to reach the switches etc, I’m off down the shop’s to buy a Lottery ticket 👍🏼
That sounds awesome
Fantastic content with Paul again, is that a new workshop he's in? Looks awesome 👍
AGAIN...SUPERB CONTENT. 👏👏
Would love to sit over a few pints with Paul and listen to all his knowledge
You and Paul make good car videos
Top stuff again gents 👏 👌
Paul and Adam should make a 12 hour long video talking about cozzie’s so I can watch it all day on a Sunday off work !
Cos-Wurth 🏴😎
Top top fella is Paul!
Its amazing how they went to all the trouble of moving the driver back for centre of gravity yet still ran normal sierra door cards with the pockets taken off 😂
Love all these cossie
Love your content very interesting
Once again another great interesting video with paul 👍👌🏾
The reason for the red originally being orange (almost fluorescent) was that the TV cameras of the time had problems with red. If you had normal red it looked very dark, almost brown. So to have the red looking red on television you used near fluorescent orange. The first ones that I think did this was Marlboro on McLaren F1 cars. They also did it on Marlboro Yamaha GP bikes. So it was the right thing to do if you wanted your red to look red on TV :)
Wow, she's a belter 😍
beast motor Cossie rs 500 💪👍.... I wouldn't race it Adam to be fair I'd show it but no chance would I race it.
Mental car🤤 nice rolly😉
It's on my lotto win list
I always liked the white cars best. Whit just makes these things look so good, and all the rs500 special bits look so much more special on the white ones.
The texaco livery looks good but you can barely tell its not a base model sierra as the black hides all the special stuff unless its got the sun on it and you're standing close to it.
Plus I've always liket white cars anyway. White for an m3, white for any cossie, white for mk1 and 2 escorts, they all look good in white. Even if they're mucky.
Upgraded ECU must be ecumaster black edition right??
Adam can you ask Paul why there's a double spring on the rears
Rumour has it the metal piece used to extend that steering wheel column was from the original gun called ol painless that Blain used in the film Predator.
This is better than top gear
Nice vid sugerlips xx
Regarding the regulations: The Sierra was the only one running a turbo. In the FIA the turbo was worth 1,4 and then 1,7 times the engine capacity of an NA car. Either the DTM needed to up the capacity of the BMW and the Mercedes-Benz, or restrict the Cosworth. Mercedes and BMW where basically paying for the whole series, so it was a no brainier. In the UK it was a bit different as the Cosworth - all though Ford Europe being German - was of course an English product. English products winning in the UK was quite OK :)
Big toys for big boys with deep pockets 😊
The Sierra drivers complained about being slowed down right until the Skyline GTR came along and suddenly ballast and success penalties became something they favoured :)
BMW should have put turbo on the s14 engine. It had already the best chassis. And would have been a battle between the e30 and sierra.
Did Hahne win in Saltzburgring in this car?
I was thinking over £200.000 TBF!
But yeah sounds cheap for what it is! Probably worth towards 300k next 10 years
Paul needs his own RUclips channel
He's got one bud, link in description at top.
restriction for tha car must have had something to do with the reglement .... audi V8s also got weight added due to the 4 WD or something ...adding weights was common pratice in DTM ... restrictor on the engine is new to me though .. just know that from NASCAR.... adding ´weights is also used alot in go kart racing ... the others will outperform you ruthlessly wehn like 10 kilos or more lighter
Were any of Tony Longhurst B & H Sierras Wolf cars?
Yes the 2 that bought from paxton are wolf and the 89 tlr2 was a sassi bought from wolf and build up localy
Würth - Original the best choice! Lol
Just caught my eye the red bike in back ground is it a bsa bantum? Looks like one I remember my dad got
I think the bantum was single cylinder and 125cc, that red BSA is twin cylinder and much bigger. Maybe an A10 or something like that.
Maybe Paul will answer this!
@@petergordon4525 Correct Peter , its a A10
@@paullinfoot6017 thought that, it's from my era! lol.
The labatts car is that the same car Tiff drove in an episode of Topgear in the 90s
Its the sister car to Lawrence's, identical in every way at the time, but that car is now a thundersaloon with a wide body kit although theres rumours its being restored back to its original BTCC spec.
@@jeffselwood7212 👍
😎
I think the Barclay sponsor was a cigarette brand not Barclycard. The name prob got taken off as the tobacco restrictions came in .
Thanks for that Mark , every day is a learning day
What are the performance numbers for these cars
they were all about 550 bhp in period
I know that there was the xr4 and sapphire 4x4 but did ford try making the RS500 4 wheel drive
So in period what colour injectors we’re these cars running if they were only using 4 of the 8? Greys surely??
4 injectors run only the eggenberger cars the other teams run 8 greens...or something from the Bosch motosport family
@@antonisgalanis3635 Wolf cars / Ringshausen cars also only run 4 injectors
Where has the wind tunnel cars gone
there still in the old part of the workshop
Amazing car wish I had 50k lol I would ask more if it was mine so people don't buy it lol
It's £150k
..Bosch ecu cost 70000 DM at that time
May be being a bit obvious here Ad, but is Dan Linfoot that used to race BSB etc any relation to Paul?
yes he is Jon , well spotted
@@paullinfoot6017 Thanks for the reply mate, love the vids as well you do with Adam. Not sure how many people would get so excited about seeing the rollcage tied in to the strut tops but hey! 😄
Barclay is a cigarette company, Belgian I think, not the bank
Thanks , great to learn a little .
17:48 trying not to show off by getting out slowly on purpose 😅
Adam please for the love of god help me.
HOW DID HE GET THOSE 2 CARS UPSTAIRS??????? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
im very strong , lol
@@paullinfoot6017 😂😂😂 love it
You’d have to be mad or loaded to race it!
Take a look at goodwood and you realise there’s plenty out there that have one or the other when it comes to racing classics
Otherwise I’m with you
Just a little point its not sponsorship from barclaycard but Barklay cigarettes
ruclips.net/video/CBivFEwd1vY/видео.html and here you have a 480whp 4x4 with group A engine parts on a sunday drive.
Did you grab your wifes jeans instead and your Adam 😂
31st
It’s pronounced Vurff
What he don't know about Sierra Cosworths ain't worth knowing.........
Selling my house 😁 I will live in the 500 🏎
