2002 was a crucial year for Bishop Carlton Pearson. Many would say that this was the final year of his "fall" from grace. At this time, he'd lost about 2,000 members, music labels were refusing to release his new Azusa CD due to his newly taken theological beliefs, worst of all, his alma-meter, Oral Roberts University, refused to let him hold his Azusa Conference on their campus anymore. (April 2002 was the last Azusa at ORU Mabee Center). Bishop T.D. Jakes, Bishop Charles Blake, the-late Bishop G.E. Patterson & many others whom Pearson highly regarded & respected came out in opposition to his newly embraced inclusion doctrine. Although Bishop Pearson had embraced & began teaching this doctrine 3/4 years prior, he was still recieving speaking engagements. Such as the case with this video, Bishop Pearson was invited to speak at Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church, where Bishop Alfred & Susie Owens Pastor, for their New Year Revival. Ironically, Bishop Jakes was scheduled to preach the next two nights after him. Though Bishop Pearson was received warmly on this night, unfortunately, it would be his last time standing in that pulpit to preach. The next time he would be back in that pulpit would be the following year, 2003, to stand before the Joint College of Bishops, to present the inclusion doctrine. In 2004, the College declared his teachings as unorthodox and heretical by the Bishops Congress. Although many have mixed views about Bishop Pearson, he STILL has meant so much to the body of Christ & we should not forget the paths that he has trail-blazed over the years, even when it wasn't popular. Interestingly enough, Carlton was preaching in that pulpit LONG before Bishop Owens got there. GMCHC was first Evangel Cathedral, founded by Bishop John Mears. It was one of the first Racially Integrated mega-congregations in the nation. Bishop Mears was one of Carlton’s heroes and mentors. Carlton had an unbreakable bond with the Mears family. When Bishop Mears son Donnie took over as pastor, Carlton was there to help through the translation. He even invited Donnie Meares to preach at Azusa in 91. Bishop John and Donnie were present for Carlton’s consecration as to the office of Bishop at Azusa 97. Carlton preached in that building more times than anyone could count. Some of his early revivals occurred right in the pulpit. Sadly, that’s probably one of the reasons why Carlton was heartbroken when the joint college of bishops declared him a heretic and escorted him out of that building in ‘03’. In his mind, that wasn’t Bishop Owens house. That was the house of a father. And NOTHING hurts like being removed from a house your father built.
Oh wow! Thank you for sharing and teaching us something. Many were under the impression for YEARS that Bishop Owens built that edifice. Very interesting perspective!

Thank you for dropping this boy of church history. Long before I was a member, I was a member of Evangel Temple, right under John Meares and his sons. It was so Interesting to me how I sat in that building having no idea rid be right back there under the leadership of Bishop Owens. Wow! Gods amazing plan and purpose for our lives
The bible tells us that we should never add nor subtract from the word of God. Regardless, who was the founder he was not God... and you don't challenge God.
The house was the house of whomever was paying the mortgage and that would be Bishop Owens, not Bishop Mears.

I love Bishop Carlton Pearson so much even after all these years his ministry speaks to me and yet I feel torn because I do believe his doctrine drifted so far away from truth that it was erroneous teaching and deceiving. Did he lose his salvation? I don’t believe you can lose your salvation but one thing is for sure God used him and I pray God granted him mercy just like I need his mercy everyday. RIP ❤️

What a powerful sermon! I have known Bishop recently but don't seem to get enough of him. Sad to learn that he drifted to another teaching. Nevertheless I believe God will by no means cast away those who came to him. RIP bishop!

😥 May the Holy Spirit produce good fruit. As much as we want God to produce good fruit in us, only the Holy Spirit can give the increase. Lord please allow the Holy Spirit to give the increase in ourselves and others, and produce the increase. In Jesus name. I find no fault in this man, but Lord, please bless our sons, not to go astray, In Jesus name. May God bless the hearts of the young people, and their minds; the babes in Christ, Amen! May God bless them, our boys to men, and girls to women, both, to have prayers answered, in this life, in the increase of God's kingdom, and his anointed in the heavenlies. May God give them solid ground to stand on, and not sinking sand. Blessings, that moth, nor rust, nor thief, can take away.

If he believes that the devil is going to the lake of fire, why does he overlook who else the scripture says will go as well. The devil, his angels, and all who reject God.

So just what is the lake of fire?

What is very sad is Carlton did lose his salvation when I stopped believing that he ever was saved. I heard him say this when he was in his house in an interview. He said when his grand parents who he loved not believing in salvation. And he really loved his grand parents so he said he just could not believe God could ever send his two loving grand parents to hell because rhe6 never accepted the salvation of God therefore he concluded that his two grand parents will be saved 8n heaven anyw because he felt they were too sweet doe God to send them to hell. Then he stated therefore that maybe he was never saved he just knew how to get people excited he just knew how to have church. He said maybe he was never saved. Carlton said he concluded in the end would be saved all inclusive in the end.
I looked at him and I thought wow he is going to be lost.
I want to here more of greater mount calvary holy church in Washington Dc with bishop td jakes all the greatest packed all evening services of the conferences from back in good days from all this weekends and Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings services.
10 years fro now Bishop Pearson will be considered a genius. This man is not nearly as deceived as the church thinks. he who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. God is not through with Bishop Pearson even as sickness threatens to take him away God's favor is still upon him. Such Hippocrytes all over the body.

“Christians” are quick to judge and the fastest to oust someone instead of pulling them in to love on em and talk about where the person got lost. This “Christian’s sit around and gossip more than a person on the streets. Instead of not saying anything on Pearson they’re basing their opinion when they need to let god do the judging. This sermon was 2002 he was very talented and talkative where it was enticing. But now he has propelled himself to the top of the black hole beyond the hell door. He has seen "God" after "Jesus" presented him and the Bible truths which he new has convicted him through its testimony along with his very own testimonials. The Lord executed Judgement on him, bishop long, Dr. King ( but "not" Malcolm X) Elijah Muhammad, Pope John Paul, Michael, Elvis, Marilyn, Kennedy, Hanes Cleveland, Andre Crouch and many others prophet's Priest, Preachers and Pimps and biblical scholars. We can even see it in the eyes of many of them still alive but dead inside as Carlton was on his death bed in mid 2023

The caption is not misleading. This was his last sermon preached at Greater Mt Calvary Holy Church (GMCHC). The parenthesis says “(2002)” which was the year this was recorded. Nothing in the caption or description suggests that he preached there in 2022.

When The Death Express rolls up to give you your first ride, who is your escort, with a heart full of pride? Too proud to listen, too stubborn to hear, But Wait! Those wheels, those dreadful wheels are rolling near. There’s an escort for every one and who will yours be? I want Jesus in the Holy Ghost to escort me! Speaking of space, there’s room to spare, for this train picks up men everywhere. It transport the rich and it transports the poor. It drops off one generation and returns for more.

When Jesus told Nicodemus, except a man or person be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. St. John 3:5, he was telling him who needed to do it. Now, watch it. Matthew told what to do, Mark told why to do it, Luke told where to do it and John told who to do it. What’s missing? Didn’t nobody tell how to do it, until the great day called Pentecost when Peter stood up to preach.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

What to do? - repent and be baptized. Who? - everyone of you. How do we do it? - in the name of Jesus Christ. Why do it? for the remission of sins. What’s the result of doing it? - and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Jews did it. Look at the 8th Chapter of Acts, verse 4, “Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the Word.” Verse 5 “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.” Verse 12, “But when they believed Phillip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.”
14. Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15. Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

In Acts 2, the Jews did it. In Acts 8, the half Jews did it. In Acts 10, the Gentiles did it and in Acts 19, the Baptist folks did it. They all did it because God said that’s the only way to do it.
Of the 66 books in the entire Bible, there’s only one that don’t fit in with any of the groups. That book is the book of Acts, because the book of Acts is the only book in the Bible that tells you how to get save.
And, until Jesus Christ returns in the clouds to call his church away “1st Peter 2:9-10,” this gospel is to be preached by us to every nation and is still in force today till that great getting up morning when the dead in Christ shall rise first, we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air, so shall we ever be with the lover of our souls.
Will you be saved today, according to the Holy Scriptures? Acts 2:38 KJV is still in force today till God’s body, “the Bride of Christ is completed.”

I remember hearing Bishop Pearson preaching years before he came out with his infamous book and I use to think what he was saying then was confusing and suspect. He used a lot of Greek and Hebrew words to preach philosophical and Critical thinking subjects. And that is okay for motivational speakers, but it is not the Gospel.
P.S. What I heard Bishop Pearson preaching before he left the church is the same thing I hear most preachers preaching today. Watch out for these preachers!

Some of it was jealousy as soon as he fell off TD Jakes ministry became at the top most people of a certain age don’t remember when TD Jakes wasn’t the biggest preacher. Years later they all invite him to stuff or take pictures. Some are very liberal today even TD Jakes.
