I'd say if anybody has the loving and compassionate heart of Christ then they already know Christ whether they call themselves 'Christian' or not or even if they've never even heard of Jesus.
Does God care more about doctrines and labels than about a person's heart? Is the God we believe in really that petty and officious?
If Carlton Pearson were still here I think he'd say that we do God and humanity a disservice when we present Him to the world that way.

Preach,having watch the movie First Sunday.
I felt bad cause he seemed to be under a great self internal struggle with the situation related to his uncle if this aspect of the movie was indeed factual.
I believe he wanted everyone to feel the Great love of Christ as he did.

I remember watching this with my grandmother in the 1990s, God rest her soul. This was the best part of the event when he brought his Mother and Grandmother to the stage.
I use to watch this same video on VHS with my Granny, God rest her soul. I will forever cherish these memories.

When they sung those ole Gospel Song You Could Feel The Spirit Of GOD Moving Even If You Weren’t Saved! They sung from their Souls! I kept them with me at all times so to speak. Me and my husband their daddy didn't allow them to be no where eles but us. We believe the holiness way. One is transgender the other were raising his children. When God calls u that mean war. It hurts deeply. So pray for brother Carlton not put him down and out there. Were still believing in God. There is not only heaven. If we read from the same bible, the christian bible, then we are all to know of the consequences after death of sin. May we all die outside of sin and the devil's clutches, and get our lives right for God.

I'm turning 67 years old next Monday, July 18, and these songs have stood me in good stead for as long as I can remember. We lived two blocks up the street from the church so there was no escaping. And already I'm looking back in wonder as I keep pressing on.
This reminds me that Gods grace is sufficient. I love the lord.Rip

I love this guy all my life. I've been following him with my mom over 15 yrs ago. He did bridge a gap and brought those old songs that some of our churches didn't sang so well. He put the Power & music and God's Anointing and brought all other singers to help..Praise God. Thank you Lord for the Him and the movie Come Sunday!!!!

I loved those old songs. I was Minister of Music. And, every now and then, our Pastor, would start singing these old gospel songs. I enjoy those songs every time I hear them. The contemporary songs and praise dances of today, I enjoy them too. But, some of the Bishops and Pastors of large Churches, have forgotten our musical roots. And, how our grandparents and parents, used to sing those songs. The Holy Spirit, would get all in your soul and bones. You couldn't sit still even if you wanted to. Listening tearfully in 2020. I don't come from this but this is what grips my heart when it comes to that good old gospel music Those Old Church of God in Christ those old Holiness songs.
I have so much respect for you Carlton Pearson. I am Grace Appel went to memorial Junior high School with you and the first time I was slain in the spirit was on your house down 38th Street. I went through a life of addiction prison and came to Christ in federal prison I'm so grateful for what took place in your call and we had church at the living room but today I am a little confused. I believe that there's a heaven. And I'm 66 years old waiting for the Lord to pick me up. But I'm trying to understand this all guess through all my ups and downs in life. I always remember bad encounter with God in your home on 38th Street San Diego California. At one point in life I thought I was in hell now. But today I know heaven is waiting for me and so is my God my Lord Jesus Christ. I've always had your family to thank for my genuine encounter in Lexington Kentucky Federal prison. So if you can Carlton it's gracy once again how am I to understand once again, I am serving God in victory outreach ministries loving God with all my heart. And once again I always thank your family for that in my prayers God bless you Jesus loves you , and your family, always Gracie Appell

This Man God called was over-taken by fear. And the enemy took that fear and worked a major deception in his mind. He feared his grand parents did not make it to heaven...so, he decided that everybody is going to heaven. But that is not Love. God is Love...Love corrects, Love judges the behaviors of mankind...and because we are created in God's image and likeness... we have choice. God is Wise in All His Ways and Just in All His doing...God knows the frailty of man...and has made provision. Just as He made provision for Cain... when we receive His provision, Call upon His name, we are saved. I do pray God's mercy and Truth will rescue our brother preacher...in Jesus name. He's not lost. He's still saved according to the bible. He just refused to believe in hell. His belief in an absence of hell hasn't shifted his salvation any. If he was/is saved *he* wasn't bound for hell noway.

God has to work in his heart to bring him back through our prayers. It's our job to do that, but its not our job to validate or justify false teaching.

2. Being gay is no greater sin than any other sin such as fornification.
3. You are saved by Grace and not by works. That does not give you a green light to do bad things. There are consequences to sin, even if God forgives you.
4. God gave us the Ten Commandments. Jesus gave us two commandments: 1. Love God first 2. Love you neighbor as yourself.
5. God looks at the character of the heart. Being gay has nothing to do with a person's character. Let's say you are in a bad car accident. Your car is in a ditch, overturned. You can see and smell smoke. You are bleeding out, profusely. 6.Someone reaches their hand down to you. They risk their life to help you. They do not know if your car is about to explode in 3 or 7 seconds. It did not cross their mind. They just see a human being in crisis.
7.Are you going to ask them, “Sir, excuse me but before I grab your hand...are you a member of the LGBT community, are you black or white, are you Democrat or Republican? I hope not. I hope you grab the hand trying to help you.
